4,200th Review I made it to Bristol Motor Speedway, not for a NASCAR or Infinity Race but for a self-guided tour only a few days before the start of the night racing events. The car haulers were lined up and the driver and team buses were starting to fill their parking areas as the speedway crews and vendors were pushing to get this place race ready. While traveling across I-81 I noticed a sign showing the exit for the speedway, thinking I'd do a short detour and do a drive by to a snap a few pictures from the road I had no idea that I've have an opportunity to get a little more up close and personal. After arriving at the speedway I noticed the entrance road was open so I pulled in and followed the orange cones to the front of the speedway going around a few car haulers and vendor trucks. I was happy to get this far without any questions so I pulled into a parking space a few feet from the main gate and got out to take a few photos before getting back on the highway. That when things changed and by happenstance a crew setting up trash dispensers and port-a-potties pulled along side me and one of the crew stopped and commented on my truck and asked a few questions about some of the accessories I had installed being he also recently purchased a new Maverick - we chatted for a few minutes and I explained that we were traveling through the area and stopped by to see the speedway, he asked if we had went through the gates and got a closer look which we had not. This guy wasn't just a worker he had the credentials and told me he had been working here for more than 13 years and told me I could enter the gate and do a self guided tour of the entire facility. A little stunned at the invitation I got his name and thanked him and walked to the only open gate. Although there was some activities going on with the staff and vendors we walked into this mostly empty giant facility unaccompanied with total access to explore the track and what a view it was once we walked out to the seating area directly in the middle of the front stretch of the racetrack. We had no other interactions with anyone as we walked around and respectfully avoided using the elevators or going into spaces that were being set up for race day before more than 100,000 fans would flock here for the two night races scheduled in a few days (Food City 300 9/12/25 - Bass Pro Shops 9/13/25). This is a beautiful and well maintained Motor Speedway and it was an amazing experience that we will always remember as we traveled across this part of the country. It goes to show that not having a plan can be the best plan, I don't think I would of ever been able to plan something like this and yes of course I watched both races on TV after this wonderful visit to this track, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good... read more

We didn't come here to see a NASCAR race but we did come here solely for the Speedway Lights events. For $25 we got a really great show. You can have up to eight people without being charged more so it's truly a steal for the price. This light display is absolutely beautiful and I'm amazed with the hard work that these people put into this yearly event. You get to actually drive on the race track which is absolutely cool some of the twists and turns actually are pretty scary because you kind of come close to contact with a few things was more worrisome if you're driving a big truck. You have a choice in the race track if you want to stay for the Christmas Market or you could just make your way out of the Christmas light show. The Christmas Market is okay I suppose. It's really just a touristy cash grab. Kids get to meet Santa Claus, there's a small vendor Market, other food and drinks that that are festive to the holiday. We didn't stay for too long but upon leaving it took us about 10 minutes to get out just because some of the traffic in front of us was very slow and really taking your time to get out. I do think that to enjoy this experienced the most you should drive throughout the entire place without headlights on just because it distracts The View from person in front of you because a lot of the other patrons also do it too. Also, it's recommended that you stick to the radio station that they advertise just so it feels completely festive. I personally don't think that you should pull over to the side of the road while everyone passes you up. read more

Lego Brick Event March ! 2026 Awful Can I have my 100 plus dollars back? So crowded only could see the backs of people. Not as advertised. Bait and Switch galore nothing like the pictures .Children's Lego table was Lego thrown on a tarp on the floor for kids to play on. So crowded but not all the building space was utilized. They scam you at ice rink by giving you a new card every time you come (as if you are new customer when they know you're repeat customer continually bringing them money) then they don't let you add cards together (those cards given to you) for a free skate which you earned from multiple skates. They come up with a variety of nonsense excuses as to why you can't add cards read more

I went to go visit their annual employee flea market. It was OK. A lot of people brought stuff from their homes. There was an artist there, who created his own work. I was hoping there would be more vendors maybe next year. I used to live in New England and there was a speedway there that held a flea market almost every weekend, from April to November. If there was a event the flea market would be canceled for that day. They would only charge a dollar entry and they were quite a few vendors. Just saying, might be interesting to think about for the future. read more

Brought our son to Bristol Motor Speedway for a reservation I had booked for him to go on a Nascar Race Car ride along with a professional driver. Everything from beginning to end was a wonderful experience. His driver Kyle Barnes was amazing! Immediately walked up to us and greeted us, explained everything to us, and answered all our questions. He's very down to earth and has a great sense of humor, made us feel taken care of and we felt safe that our son was in good hands while driving fast on the track. My son came out of the car after his ride and said this was the best thing he's ever done in his 16 years of life. His adrenaline was so much his heart rate after his ride...was 147..lol...said he'd do it all over again. Thank you Kyle Barnes ..for making this experience what it was !! read more

First and last time. was really looking forward to Bristol. Everything Nascar was 10/10! It was the facility that was awful. The staff must come from a Craigslist pool. No one knew anything. We walked around the track 3 times. Took trams to stops that weren't what we were told 5x. Torally missed out on the $200 we paid for the "track walk" due to team workers telling us the wrong info. The emails from the facility said walk the concourse all the way around but it was gated off and we couldn't get anywhere. Tower C elevator at gate 4 was out of service and we were put on the wrong tram. Came all the way back and took another tram up the hill. Enrered at D and couldn't walk around. By the time we found the gate, no one in our group (ages 4 to 67) wanted to walk any longer. it was 4:25pm by then and it ended at 5. We started at 2pm trying to get there. Once we got to our seats we were aggravated, hot and exhausted. Maybe the staff should be better informed about the facility they are at. Awful experienc. Can't wait for Martinsville. read more

This young lady has helped me through this entire process from recommending tickets for best seating experience, parking pass and head set rentals! We must've had a dozen emails between us and several phone calls not only is she TN friendly she is super knowledgeable and her customer service is above and beyond ANYONE I have dealt with in a very long time! Lights were really good, crowded, long wait but traffic moved fast once we went to one line. I remember a few years ago many more lights. The best part was driving on the track! The high banks of Bristol are amazing. Hard to believe drivers drive at least 500 laps around this thing. The vendors set up with everything from kettle corn, hot chocolate, marshmallows and anything you could want to drink. Carousel was great my granddaughter loved it even if it's cold outside. O what an awesome life we get to live! And the Sharpie 500 is one of the biggest parties you will never get to see, because this year was the final year Sharpie is sponsoring. Next year, it will be the Irwin Night Race, and it should be just as awesome. Picture this: 43 cars, 850 horses in each, going around a 1/2 mile concrete track at 45mph when the green flag is waved. It is an instant wall of roaring energy and you had better have some earplugs! It is louder than the loudest concert you have ever experienced. I have watched the race from the top row, from the middle and this year, from 8 rows up from the edge in turn 4. I have also watched from the Sharpie suite, way up high. The track is so small, there is not a bad seat in the house and everyone has a great view. Kyle Busch won this year, to the consternation of the Earnhardt Nation. The ever-classy Mark Martin was second, and it was great to see the bumping and banging, and the give and go that happened at the end. A great race to end the 9 years of Sharpie sponsorship. read more

What a great facility. I parked across the street in private parking lot for $20. As I walked up the security was easy to get through. The gate was also a pleasant experience. There was plenty of bathrooms in the stadium. Food was easily available. I was attending the spring Nascar race. My seats were good and plenty of security available. Not sure the stadium could have provided a better day. Well maybe Kevin Harvick could of had a better day. read more

Another bucket list item checked off! This was my first trip to a NASCAR race and it was quite an experience. A night race and had I not had friends who go every year I would have been lost. Observations: 1) It was very loud so be sure to have earplugs or rent the headsets and you can listen to the race and still save your hearing 2) Everyone was friendly and there to have fun. 3) You can bring food and drink to the race or buy stuff there- wow where else can you do that? 4) VERY Patriotic and so refreshing!!! We opened with pledge of allegiance and the national anthem. EVERYONE participated so if you are a kneeler or think our country is a bad place, this is not for you. 5) Parking is expensive but you can find parking within walking distance and pretty close to the event. Just know traffic sucks so give yourself plenty of time. 6) Many people came with campers (that is where I stayed with friends). 7) I don't think there is a bad seat in the stadium, which is a small bowl 8) Fireworks at the end... nice touch. Bottom line is it was exciting and loved the patriotism and everyone was friendly and helpful. Traffic sucks so be patient. It is an experience you should try at least once. 5+ read more

I have been attending races at BMS for several years. It is a great facility for motorsports. "There is not a bad seat in the house!" -- How true. Over the aforementioned years of attendance my family and I have switched switched several times and have never really had an issue with the sight lines. You'll have your occasional jackass or two that think they are deserving of more than the seat they paid for, but it is what it is. One great thing that has changed over the years is the "No Smoking in the grandstands" law. Fantastic for we non-smokers; but would be even better if they would enforce it 100%. It has been brought up to them before - only to be replied with multiple excuses. It has gotten better over the last year as more and more smokers just accept it and take a hike to the Smoking Zones or just wait. There's a novel idea. The concession prices are HIGH. But, it's professional sports. You'll have that. One of the best things about professional motorsports is the ability to bring in your own food and drink to the venue. There are still a lot of people who don't know this or simply just don't care to pack a cooler to save a buck, then bitch about the cost of concessions. Be prepared to walk when visiting BMS. They do have a lot of transportation - but the closer it gets to Cup raceday the longer you will wait for a ride. It can be quite difficult for older folks to maneuver the grounds due to the mountainous region.. And it pisses my Parents (older folks) off when they are struggling up the aforementioned mountainous terrain only to be passed by golf carts full of youngins'!! I can not review the traffic flow because we camp across the Red Bridge. I'm only a mere three hour drive away - so it would be nice if they have more racing events like they did in the past - but I understand it is expensive to operate a venue of that size when you don't have the attendance of a Cup race. read more

I love this non-steroid sport,although Nascar is predominantly a Southern sport, it has gained increasing popularity nationwide throughout the years after the tragic death of Dale Earnhardt,who is a well-known driver & legend of the sport. After a painful 3 hour drive from the Nashville, we have arrived to BMS. This is my first ever Live NASCAR event, and I feel like a little kid again. This popular racetrack,which is raced twice a year in Bristol, is also known as the "Famous Half-Mile" because the configuration of the track is so small in comparison to other NASCAR tracks. The racetrack holds 160,000 spectators and they get to see the top 43 colorful drivers in Nascar, including my favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.,whose legendary father,as mentioned, died in a race in Daytona 5 years ago,and other drivers including the #48 of Jimmie Johnson (Prima's favorite driver) race for the winning trophy in November. Unfortunately, Matt Kenseth,who drives the #17 and sponsors DeWalt won the race. Sadly, my favorite driver Dale Jr. finished third, but my first ever live NASCAR event will be my most memorable one. I thought racing fans all looked alike, man was I wrong. NASCAR racing is a huge blast folks - for everybody. This was my first ever race and it was an experience to remember, heck, my ears are still ringing from the sound of the motors. Your heart and body will pound when the cars come zooming by. The crowd was enormous and they were almost as loud as the engines. I still dream of racing down the speedway (but I keep to the speed limit on the road). Came all the way from Massachusetts to watch the trucks, xfinity race and cup race. To say i had a great time, would be an understatement. This place is amazing to see in person. The only issue i had was the parking. I recommend getting a pass to park on the property itself, or else youre going to walk a lot. But other than that, i love this place. The 12 hour drive is worth it. I will be back! read more

Even for being a "small" track, this place is huge! It seats over 160,000 people, so don't expect to be in and out of the parking lot before or after an event. In fact, there is very limited parking on the actual campus, most people park in lawns of locals selling for $10-$30 a spot. The grounds are nice, lots and lots of vendors, and is pretty clean. They allow outside food and drink (no glass) up to a certain size of cooler, which is a great way to save on concessions cost. Across the street there are vendors selling beers and food for close to half of what it costs within the speedway concourse, so that's recommended if you have the right cooler size. read more

This was my third visit to BMS. The previous times I sat up high in turn 4 and up high between 1 and 2. This time I sat in the second row just before the entrance to turn three. All views are amazing and there are very few bad seats in the house. If you are a race fan then you should make the trip so see a race here. The action never stops. Cars are constantly leaning on each other, the sparks fly and you can even see the digital dashes in the cars no matter where you sit. The staff and fans are truly nice people unlike some of the other tracks I've been too (Dover to name one). The food isn't your normal track food as they have Arby's, bojangles chicken and some other chains in the coliseum along with some track favorites. A must get is the moonshine lemonade. Arrive early and spend some time tailgating because this is one track where the people your parked next to become friends of yours in a matter of minutes. read more

UGGG!!!! NOT a fan of this speedway! Now, our hosts were awesome and very accommodating but HOLY LOUDNESS! We were invited to the race by a vendor of my husbands. We were treated VIP all the way prior to the start of the race. THEN, the real experience began! Our seats were super high which really bothered by Vertigo since these seats are STEEP!!!! When the race began I quickly inserted my ear plugs because this short track is freakin loud! There is no reprieve from the sound since the track is only 1/2 mile. Don't even think you are going to communicate with those around you unless you spend the $60+ bucks a peice for the head phones. We are really not race fans but were thankful for the vendor's hospitality. We will NOT be back to this track. read more

We generally attend the August night race every other year. Some thoughts on Bristol: 1. Parking is limited compared to other tracks. There are no free lots owned by the track, so prepare to pay to park privately. Try to park in the direction that you need to leave. Be patient after the race--you're not a NASCAR driver. And when rain is forecasted, be careful where you park--some of the lots turn into a muddy mess! 2. Cell phone coverage is horrible! We have major national carriers (AT&T and Verizon) but couldn't send SMS or text messages. Forget trying to post to Twitter or follow the action on there. This is a major issue that needs addressed by the speedway. 3. We're disappointed that year after year, the speedway is lax about enforcing their no smoking policy in the stands. There is a guest number you can text to report issues, but see #2 above! 4. We love our seats in the Pearson Terrace (under the roof)! read more

Since I have become a huge NASCAR fan, I have some tracks that are on my list to visit. Bristol is one of them. And now that I am back in TN it is my home track so to speak (although Talladega is closer). So I rounded up some friends, got my camper gear together, and headed out to Bristol Motor Speedway for some short track racing! First off, the campgrounds are confusing online. Apparently the ones owned by the track aren't all that close to the track. However, surrounding the track are all kinds of campgrounds that are privately owned. We chose Earhart Campgrounds which was right beside the track with an entrance into the track conveniently located (see my review, I'll do the campground separately). Suffice to say we couldn't have been any closer unless we had camped INSIDE the track so that was sweet. Once you get inside, note that you will have to climb some big hills to get into the grandstands. They have shuttles for those of you that cannot walk up hills so don't worry. For the rest of us, we got our first exercise of the weekend getting up to our seats. Unless you count 12 oz curls as an exercise.... So the track....oh my goodness. Think of the Roman Colosseum. A small track encircled by seats all the way around. Very high banking (I think 36 degrees) on the turns. Seats were typical grandstand seats but I did see sections with full plastic seats. We got seats about mid-way up in the bottom section, near the checker flag. The pit stalls are on each side so your driver may or may not pit on your side, depending on the spot they choose. Food selections appear to be very basic, lots of cheeseburgers, sausages, turkey legs, pizza, etc. I couldn't find anything special. One thing pretty cool - they were selling Ole Smokey TN Moonshine drinks with special Bristol collector jars to drink them out of. Coooolio. When the engines are started, OH MY GOD. You can feel the rumble, you can hear the extreme loudness of the cars more than any track I have been to. The nature of the track holds the sound in and you can feel and even smell the cars the entire race. It is SO FUCKING EXCITING. I hear if you sit down near the front you will even get rubber on your clothes from all the rubber off the tires. Bring your earplugs or your scanner headphones to protect your ears....but maybe take them off for just a minute to hear the full roar! Any seat you get is great because it is such a compact, small spot. The racing....holy hell. Whoever thinks that Bristol racing has gone downhill or something is smoking some crack or doesn't know what racing is. This was full excitement racing. Both the Nationwide race and the Sprint Cup race were awesome, sit at the edge of your seat, nail biters. I was extremely anxious and excited and nervous and had the best time EVER at a race. Oh and also..... MY DRIVER WON THE RACE!! Kasey Kahne, Spring 2013 Bristol Winner. I was OVER THE MOON I tell you!!! What a great thing to go to a track for the first time and see your driver win for the first time ever. I recommend it, especially if your driver is the same as my driver. This is an exciting track for Nascar races. However, be prepared to do ALOT of walking. They have golf carts that take you uphill to gate 14 and around.After the race, they do NOT run the golf carts until an hour later...plan accordingly or be prepared to walk a long way back to the parking lot. Also, be warned that there is NO handicapped parking. You have to pay $20 to park in a field that when it rains turns into a huge mudpit and you will get stuck in a normal car. The vendors that are in here are alittle scary. You will pay alot of money ( $8 for a footlong corndog) and I stood and watched the lady touch money then touch the corndog without washing them. VERY unsanitary..Also seen a guy transporting the food from the kitchen to this stand smoking a cigerrette and eating a chicken tender ($11 w/ fries) The consession stands of the Bristol track is the best place to get food. Cheeseburger ($5) Really good...sanitary and ALOT cheaper amongst other items hot dogs ($3) w/ chili($4) Wait to buy your Bristol shirts after the race. ($10-15) instead of paying $25.. Make sure you check the website of what you can bring to what you cant inside the collisium... 14" coolers, no wider. No umbrellas. What upset me the most was no employee/staff member knew where thr "fan zone" was at. Except for a nascar fan that overheard us asking several people, even the sheriffs that were there didn't know...Its located down from gate 14 down the hill. They have tickets to the Bristol outside of the entrance area if you are needing tickets. Would go back next year. read more

Was there this weekend for the Food City 250 and the Sharpie 500. Man that place is a class act. We came in on Thursday night and were escorted to our two RV spots. We always have really nice neighbors in the rows and this year was no exception. Love the fact that ice trucks come by many times during the day. I was also happy with how relatively clean the showers were. It's got to be hard to keep it that way. Still wear flip flops... The races were great and the seats and track always look great. I"m spoiled for this venue and would be pretty harsh on any others because I hold BMS as the gold standard. read more

This speedway is great. It is small enough to get around, yet very big. Put on your walking shoes when you go. You'll be walking up and down hills quite a bit. Also, drink plenty of water. It's quite hot especially during the August race. Even though it's a night race, you will arrive during the heat of the day. There are some concession stands under the bleachers with souvenirs and such, but not so much that it blows you away. Very expensive (as are most stadiums), such as $4 for a Pepsi and $7 for small container of Pulled Pork Nachos. There are plenty of Bathrooms within the stadium, but not as many throughout the events outside the stadium. There were lots of EMS stations around, as I'm sure they have plenty of heat related issues to tend with. Plenty of law enforcement from various counties were patrolling. We had a few issues in the stands which were handled quickly. The stadium has high walls in the turns with very high fencing so sitting near the track near the front rows is not conducive to shooting photos. If you want some good action shots, I would sit near the middle of the seats with a good zoom lens. We enjoy going here and will probably go again in the future. Great for family! read more
