Saw Wicked here last night. Our party of four arrived the parking lot was full with a line of…read morepeople out the door. Of the two sets of doors in the front, half of them weren't functioning which meant that big crowds were all moving in and out of the building through one set of doors. Not great. We stand in a line of about 60 people with 15 of those being outdoors in late November in Abingdon where the temperature is in the upper 30s. Brrrrr. We asked folks around us if they had already bought tickets, if this line was just for concessions, etc. but no one was certain. After eventually moving inside we saw that the ticket purchase line and the concession line appeared to be the same one. Also, we saw that no one was checking tickets as you entered the theater area. So we got out of line and went to our theater. We had bought tickets in advance but it should would have been easy for anyone just to head right in without tickets. The staff looked overwhelmed, understandably so, but the line arrangement and information were poor. We were in a theater with the multiway reclining seats. I kept mine upright for most of the film but when I did try to recline, many of the buttons didn't work.

Since 2013, the Abingdon Cinemall has been the only theater in this area to show The Rocky Horror…read morePicture Show. They have shown it every year since, and I have been fortunate enough to go every time the doors have been open for it. However, after tonight, I will not be returning to this establishment. My friends were approached and threatened by a man getting in their face complaining about the audience callbacks. (To any Cinemall staff: I was in the same row, I saw it happen!) In the twelve years they've shown the movie, they should know full well what kind of movie this is and that callbacks are part of the program. Doubly so since they've invested in the Tolls of Madness shadowcast during some years. To make things worse, the same man that complained also admitted to bringing his underage kid to see the movie. Despite knowing that, the manager of the establishment decided to move to kick out my friends over the callbacks instead of kicking out the man and his daughter. So when my friends were forced to leave, my wife and I walked out with them. As such, I was given my refund when it was offered for the tickets I purchased, and I also turned in a free movie pass I was given at work. I will not return. Not if I'm going to be gagged from participating at the one movie that allows it. Thanks for losing a 12-year paying customer. P.S. Since you read my review on Google and left a nasty response, I've contacted your CEO. I've also emailed the Tolls of Madness and informed them of what you really think of your local Rocky Horror fans.

4,200th Review I…read moremade it to Bristol Motor Speedway, not for a NASCAR or Infinity Race but for a self-guided tour only a few days before the start of the night racing events. The car haulers were lined up and the driver and team buses were starting to fill their parking areas as the speedway crews and vendors were pushing to get this place race ready. While traveling across I-81 I noticed a sign showing the exit for the speedway, thinking I'd do a short detour and do a drive by to a snap a few pictures from the road I had no idea that I've have an opportunity to get a little more up close and personal. After arriving at the speedway I noticed the entrance road was open so I pulled in and followed the orange cones to the front of the speedway going around a few car haulers and vendor trucks. I was happy to get this far without any questions so I pulled into a parking space a few feet from the main gate and got out to take a few photos before getting back on the highway. That when things changed and by happenstance a crew setting up trash dispensers and port-a-potties pulled along side me and one of the crew stopped and commented on my truck and asked a few questions about some of the accessories I had installed being he also recently purchased a new Maverick - we chatted for a few minutes and I explained that we were traveling through the area and stopped by to see the speedway, he asked if we had went through the gates and got a closer look which we had not. This guy wasn't just a worker he had the credentials and told me he had been working here for more than 13 years and told me I could enter the gate and do a self guided tour of the entire facility. A little stunned at the invitation I got his name and thanked him and walked to the only open gate. Although there was some activities going on with the staff and vendors we walked into this mostly empty giant facility unaccompanied with total access to explore the track and what a view it was once we walked out to the seating area directly in the middle of the front stretch of the racetrack. We had no other interactions with anyone as we walked around and respectfully avoided using the elevators or going into spaces that were being set up for race day before more than 100,000 fans would flock here for the two night races scheduled in a few days (Food City 300 9/12/25 - Bass Pro Shops 9/13/25). This is a beautiful and well maintained Motor Speedway and it was an amazing experience that we will always remember as we traveled across this part of the country. It goes to show that not having a plan can be the best plan, I don't think I would of ever been able to plan something like this and yes of course I watched both races on TV after this wonderful visit to this track, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good...

We didn't come here to see a NASCAR race but we did come here solely for the Speedway Lights…read moreevents. For $25 we got a really great show. You can have up to eight people without being charged more so it's truly a steal for the price. This light display is absolutely beautiful and I'm amazed with the hard work that these people put into this yearly event. You get to actually drive on the race track which is absolutely cool some of the twists and turns actually are pretty scary because you kind of come close to contact with a few things was more worrisome if you're driving a big truck. You have a choice in the race track if you want to stay for the Christmas Market or you could just make your way out of the Christmas light show. The Christmas Market is okay I suppose. It's really just a touristy cash grab. Kids get to meet Santa Claus, there's a small vendor Market, other food and drinks that that are festive to the holiday. We didn't stay for too long but upon leaving it took us about 10 minutes to get out just because some of the traffic in front of us was very slow and really taking your time to get out. I do think that to enjoy this experienced the most you should drive throughout the entire place without headlights on just because it distracts The View from person in front of you because a lot of the other patrons also do it too. Also, it's recommended that you stick to the radio station that they advertise just so it feels completely festive. I personally don't think that you should pull over to the side of the road while everyone passes you up.

My husband has a hearing impairment. We have been here a few times and he has used the…read moreteleprompters. Tonight, we saw a movie and tried three different teleprompters. None of them worked. We asked for the manager and she could have cared less. It's unbelievable. Why offer them if none of them work. She was not even slightly compassionate. If you have a hearing impairment, you are not welcome here. Save yourself the frustration. Go somewhere else. We have had great experiences at Fort Henry Mall at the NCG.

We asked about refunds for concessions, since we spent $45 and were snapped at by the manager saying "you still ate your snack why would we refund that?" Thats fine, things happen. We weren't mad. This time we spent over $100 on tickets and concessions for 2 adults and 2 kids, and they are OUT OF FREAKING ICE!!!!!!! Manager couldn't care less. Once we got into the actual theater, it was doing the same thing it did last time the screen wouldn't work. You can hear the ads and commercials, but nothing is on the screen. My husband went out and told the manager (which was also the manger that had to issue our rain checks last time) that the screen wasn't working, and she snapped at him and said "it will be fixed by the time the movie is on." My husband said "okay well last time we were here, it wasn't fixed, and we spent 2 hours here for nothing." she said "oh well I don't remember that." Manager has been the absolute rudest human on the planet both times we have had encounters with her. I'm also attaching some videos of the absolute disgusting area around the drinks and walking to the theater. Workers just standing behind the counter that could have easily went out and cleaned up a little. We will be taking our business to NCG theaters in Kingsport from now on. Cleaner, cheaper and 100% better customer service.

A hidden gem! This is a terrific local museum that's associated with the Smithsonian. Located in…read morethe center of Bristol with plenty of parking. The people that work in this museum are absolutely incredible. They are beyond helpful, friendly, and attentive. Super knowledgeable as well. You can tell they love their city and enjoy their job. Come to. Wet some super nice people and see an awesome collection from the Bristol Sessions. The museum is very informative and has some interesting history and some great displays. There's a 15 minute video in a super comfortable theater that gives you the background of the museum. There was a gentleman that works there that was chatting before the film and he was a wealth of knowledge. There's a great store with some treasures and a special exhibit area. Super fun day and super cheap to come. Check them out!!

We caught a production of The Da Vinci Code, and it completely blew us away. For a small town, this place is incredible. The quality of the performance was top-notch, the theater itself is charming, and they run roughly six different productions a day across morning, afternoon, and evening shows. The tickets were very reasonably priced, making it an easy and enjoyable detour. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area and only wish we had planned to stay longer. If you're anywhere near Abingdon, Virginia, do yourself a favor and make time for a show at the Barter Theater. You won't regret it!

Came here for the bingo but it's kind of misleading. On the advertisement it says up to $15,000 you…read morecould win. The last game said you could win up to $5000 so nowhere near $15,000. So the way they play their games is if you win before a certain amount of balls have been called you can win a better prize such as a barbecue, a higher value gift card etc. So one guy literally won a lawn gnome and one lady "won" three items. I say this because the game clearly states 21 and over because technically it's a bar but they do NOT enforce this at all. That lady had brought three people who were teenagers. A few other people brought little kids that definitely did not belong there. I noticed on the calendar that they have country line dancing so not sure if I would come back to try that.
