I was an early adopter a few years ago to permanent LED house lights. From day one the app interface was clunky at best and I had issues with the Wifi. They came out a couple of times to try and fix. It worked temporarily. Now my lights have not worked AT ALL for about 3 years. Called them again and was told they dont support the older ones and I would need to replace. They were happy to take $4k from me the first time and now want me to do it again. No thank you. I will shop elsewhere. read more

I have to leave 1 star, I'd give zero if I could!! Had my lights installed many years ago, maybe 8-10. Worked great for 2-3 years then I started having problems, lights stopped working, problems connecting, app troubles. The company came out several times to troubleshoot, charged me a service fee each time only to have the same problem or a new problem start again shortly after. After a couple years of calling the company I was told they couldn't do anything more, they were going out of business. Funny, their website says they have been in business since 1993. After the long year, I decided to treat myself to professional holiday light installation. BriteNites is a long beloved and established company in my area. With stunning displays, I admire each year. I knew this was the company I would trust to make my light dreams come true. Consistent with this last year, and due to supply challenge issues, the initial instal didn't go perfectly. That being said, the customer service team was available and responsive. The real bright light shined from the owner, Dean. Who promptly arrived at my house to better understand the opportunity for improvement and offer solutions. Did I mention Dean brought Ritual chocolate? As this is the busy season for BriteNites, I was grateful they haven't forgotten their small individual client base. As Dean promised, new lights were sourced and installed. Our project did not turn out as planned, lost plans, wrong lights, there have been cordial, understanding conversations but no resolution. After sending new plans, the installation team came with shoulders shrugged, obstensively, having no direction. Seemingly no idea what they were there to do. This has happened a few years in a row. My thought is the installation team perhaps wants personal contact, and a conversation, in the which we could just hire them and forego the local and national team altogether. The national and local team do not seem to have a cooperative relationship either, and the point of hiring a national company is guarantees. There is no other reason to do that. I am still hopeful everyone will connect, that the company can have an organized flow of communication. I am still hoping for a happy resolution. I noted another bad review about exploiting labor, but I don't know about that. The team finished a $13,000 + job, in a day. And not the whole day. Maybe 4 or 5 hours. If they took a third of that home, with a crew of four men that's a $1000 and some change, or $250 an hour. Which I doubt, but am imagining are well paid. I am curious as to the wage. If, as the reviewer suggests, they are not getting paid, perhaps my situation is the reason why? It can all be addressed. It's just math, and lights in trees. It can be done if the national and local companies acknowledge their need for one another and their contractors understand they are in fact contracted, represent the company and it was the company that was hired. read more

This company earns their money by participating in wage theft and exploitation of labor. I would not recommend this company to anyone who values people and believes in basic human decency. A couple of their employees have been asking them to pay them their unpaid wages, overtime and per diem. The only response they have received is that they will review their records. Weeks have passed without any communication about their review of records. Disappointed because I thought a family owned business would appreciate their workers and what it takes to support a family. I really don't enjoy writing bad reviews but didn't care for the $1500 minimum charge this Christmas lighting company has, nor the fact that this was not for the first year ( when you buy the lights), but for every year! That means the prices are just plain high! We ended up going with a permanent holiday lighting company whose estimate was double, but that is for lights that will last 15 years plus. We have had our lights installed and we loved it. However less than 2 years after, they broke. We called them and they said that it's still under the warranty. They didn't have a tech to fix them so they recommended us to someone else and informed us that they will pay for it. We called them and they simply found excuses, every time, why they can't come out to fix them. After numerous calls and exchanged emails they came looked at it and said that we have to pay $ and that they will call us when they get a part. 5 months later they didn't call and didn't come out to fix problemtand we spend Christmas without lights. Pls find some different company if you're looking for services that they offer. I do have a emails from them stating that we are under the warranty. read more

My experience with Brite Nites has been excellent. After the initial assessment of the property, they came out on Monday to decorate the exterior of my home with lights. They have been responsive and accommodating if I encounter a problem with the lights. A fox caused a small section of the fence lights to go out, and Brite Nites immediately replaced them. My only regret is that I did not request more exterior lights -- next year. More importantly, Brite Nites has an exceptional Customer Relations Department. I am looking forward to working with Brite Nites in the future. I highly recommend this company. read more

Never show up on time. They installed the lights but every couple of years we have had them come back to replace bulbs or fixtures. They gave us a time and day but never show up when they say. If they tell us 9-12 on Monday they might show up 3 or 4 days later. Never once called us to tell us their schedule changed. After years of tolerating their horrible service we hired another company. read more

I couldn't be happier with my purchase of permanent holiday lights. I decided to go with Brite Nites because I liked being able to control each light individually. I wanted to set it up so that it looked like the architectural canned lighting that is used on the newer homes. Well, I had a hard time getting them to work right. I work from home and I work with sensitive information so I wasn't comfortable giving out the wifi information to have them set it up so I was kinda in a bind. They were very patient and as I had suspected, the problem was between the couch and my tablet. I finally got the controller on my wifi instead of bluetooth to my phone and everything is working perfectly. I have lights for every occasion you could possibly think of (sports team colors, police, Canada Day, Halloween, Cinco de Mayo, Disney, Rainbow, Star Wars, etc). You can program each individual light a different color. I have it set up as the architectural lighting, but I have the lights by my bedroom a little dimmer. They are absolutely stunning. Customer service was great! The installers were great! The product is great! I could not be happier. read more

We were out of town when the lights went up (they came a few days earlier than we'd asked for) and came home to a beautiful surprise. They had done a perfect job. When we first got our quote (from a very honest and approachable guy), we were surprised by the cost - we'd never done this before so didn't know what to expect. We decided to do less than what we'd wanted originally in order to keep the cost down and we received zero pressure to do more. We were kept informed about timing and expense every step of the way. We got several follow up calls about whether we were satisfied. Last night, one strand of lights on our big oak tree was out. I texted our rep to tell her and she sent someone out tonight - less than 24 hours later - to fix the problem. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the work and more impressed with the service. It's not cheap but it's worth it. read more

Unfortunate experience all around. The salesman was running late and couldn't make the scheduled appointment (which they had booked for 7:30PM on a Friday night of all times). I mentally moved on but he ended up showing up unannounced the following Friday in the mid afternoon (a full week late). I was amused but let him do his thing. Nice guy who gave me a quote that was acceptable for a $4,200.00 job which I placed with the commitment to do the install one week later (today - Dec 7th). They took my deposit, charged my card and got an email confirmation from the office. Today I called midday to ask where the crew was and was told the order had never been processed into their system. Polite enough folks who were apologetic and processed a refund, but I've missed my window for holiday lighting and lost most of a day waiting. Abysmal experience. read more

I have been delighted with lighting that Brite Nites has done at our home. Brite Nites not only did all the landscaping lights but all of my seasonal/holiday lighting as well. They are so beautiful we enjoy them ALL winter not just for the Christmas holiday. The team is prompt, courteous, responsive and does an excellent job. This company really has not clue how to create a hassle-free situation when working with customers, even though their website and employees say they do projects "no matter how large or small." We have received the runaround and indirectly told that our business is not worth their time because it is not large enough to be profitable. I have used this company for four years and the price, just for installation for the same lights, has doubled!! They nickle and dime you, charge for the use of a ladder, charge $350 for a lift rental that is used on every house the same day. This is a day's rental if they are not using their own equipment so why charge every customer the same price? I requested my lights back and found they gave them to the wrong company and even told me I had asked them to do this (Manager). Wrong!!! Other companies deliver the lights to you if you decide to go with someone else. Not Brite Nites, you have to go and collect them from their offices in Murray. I don't mind paying a fair price but being ripped off is another matter. Go check out other companies who will charge a lot less for the same job. Maybe they have lots of business so decided they could become greedy and losing a few customers wouldn't matter. read more
