The studio is inside a business building in Mission Valley Mall, and it can be a little tricky to find at first -- but they send detailed instructions with visuals before your appointment, and you can text or call them if you need help. They offer plenty of daily appointment times, and I was able to schedule or reschedule on short notice. Super flexible and quick to respond. The service itself lasts about an hour with three 15‑minute whitening rounds. You sit in a comfy chair with a neck pillow and Netflix, so you can just relax. I love having white teeth -- it makes me feel so much more confident -- and this is my go‑to before events. My results lasted around six months, and even when I returned a year later, I was nowhere near the level of yellow I started at originally. I don't drink much coffee or red wine anymore, so that probably helps too. If you're nervous about sensitivity, I have sensitive gums and always leave feeling fine. Maybe a little sensitivity to cold or sweet foods the first day, but nothing major. The space is clean, sanitary, and usually has one or two other clients at a time. Before making my appointment, I asked if they participate in Anthem HMO. The response was yes. Initially, my impression of the staff and service was good. Despite paying $450 (discount included) for a deep cleaning since I was told it wasn't covered. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill since then. My husband also made his appointment and was told a deep cleaning was needed and had to pay $500 for it. He called Anthem and was told this office wasn't participating in HMO. Since I have a background in health insurance, I called myself and got the same response. I've tried to reach the office manager at least eight times to resolve this problem. Once, without even being asked for a name, I was told that a correction was faxed and would be called back when it was done. Since starting this whole process, my husband received an explanation of benefits showing NOTHING was paid, including preventative services like x-rays. I actually never even received an explanation of benefits. Were my services even billed? I'm beyond frustrated because now it appears we have to find another dentist and start this whole process again. And, I'd like to have some of my money back!
