    Comfortable and ready to go...
    Joel H.

I was more than a little surprised to see that many reviews here are one star. My wife and I flew British Airways and outside of the fact that there is virtually no leg room in the economy class seats, everyone was extremely nice to us every step along the way. It started at the beginning when I asked the rep at the gate if my wife and I could pre-board and without any hesitation he made that happen. The plane is huge so we walked to the back where we were and settled in. That's when I realized that if the seat in front of me reclines, they will be in my lap. Flight was extremely smooth with meals and snacks being served promptly so we could get some rest. The flight attended ask the passenger in front of me to keep their seat up while I was eating.. That helped. The rest of the flight was smooth and there was plenty of entertainment. I was surprised that there was no complementary Wi-Fi and it was not cheap to buy. But, there was a good selection of entertainment which kept me busy throughout. Before we landed, we were briefed on how to go from one flight to another. It would take approximately one hour. The landing and transfer went off without a hitch and we were on our way to Warsaw. I think if I learned anything from this flight is that there will be no more economy! Overall, my experience with Air France was VERY positive - have not flown this airline in 8 years,…read morebut it brought back fond memories. Will definitely fly with them again. Flight from IAD-CDG Premium Voyageur (Premium Economy) - 4 stars 1. Previlege to use the first class check-in and boarding line was special and baggage allowance is pretty good! 2. The seats were completely new and cocoon style (you're not bound by what the person in front of you does). the seat had power, reading lights, clairn's amenities, magazines, water - it was great. 3. The meal service was the same as what they served in economy - but the food was decent and the wine selection was also very decent - champagne, two different kinds of red and white, dessert wines, aperitifs/digestifs. 4. The problem - we had to come off the plane, get on the shuttle and go to the transfer gate, it was one LONG shuttle ride in a cold rainy winter. This is more of a CDG's problem - the airport set up is so complicated, it needs to streamline. Flight from CDG-DUB: Premium Voyageur (Premium Economy) - 4 stars 1. Although the seats were small - it was half empty so it was pretty spacious. 2. They served Heidseck Monopole champagne!!! 3. The small meal kit looked small, but had some serious stuff in it - tarts, appetizers and meals - it was pretty good. 4. The bags came out FAST! Flight from DUB-CDG Premium Voyageur (Premium Economy) - 2 stars 1. The flight was delayed for a bout 40 minus - UGH. 2. The seats were cramped and not comfortable AT ALL :( 3. To add to my stress, the same LONG shuttle ride repeated, and I got to the transfer gate literally 10 minutes before boarding for my IAD flight...CDG REALLY NEEDS TO STREAMLINE ITS TRANSFER PROCESS. Flight from CDG-IAD Affaires (Business) 1. Don't know why - but I was upgraded...yeah! 2. The service was very friednly and attentive - champagne service, hot towel, coat cloaking and everything. 3. The movie selection was awesome - lots of movies, TV series, music, games and etc. 4. The apetizer was awesome and went great along with my Billecart Salmon champagne, the main dish and the cheese selection was o...k...not mind blowing. The dessert selection was pretty good. 5. The second meal service was lacking - it was just small apetizers, no bread or anything - they can do better than this. 6. The service in general was pretty thorough though! 7. The self-service bar area was pretty nice - drinks and fruits on the go. 8. The lavatory looked old - but had the Clairins tonic lotion for use. So, to make the flight experience more dramatic, I didn't get my luggage on time, so they promptly put it on the next flight - and delivered them safely by the evening. They did a great job following up and making sure the bags were tracked and we were updated correctly. I really commend AF for making this process painless.

I have a roundtrip flight JFK/Inschon/Nerata in October on Asisana for which I must make seat assignments because I'm temporarily disabled, and I have not been able to access the flight for two weeks. I was not given the option of seat assignments when I made the reservation back in July via Expedia. All Asiana's US numbers are now disabled, so I went to Korean Air. The customer service person was adamant in saying that Korean is not responsible for Asiana. A former highly-placed customer service person, I suggested she go to her supervisor. She said the supervisor explained the same thing and wouldn't take the call. I tendered the optioni that I would spread deservedly bad reveiws of Korean all over the internet, so she might wish to ask her supervisor about that. She hung up on me. If it weren't for the fact that this trip is a gift to my son, I'd cancel right now.

After taking a perfectly fine CE flight from New York to Hong Kong, I felt compelled to write a…read morereview here to set the record straight. Reading all these terrible reviews from earlier I was terrified to take my flight, expecting the absolute worst. It was FINE. No it wasn't the best flight in my life but who really cares! It's cheap and gets you to where you need to go. My flight (NY to Shanghai to Hong Kong) had minimal waiting time in the airport compared to all the other options I reviewed on Kayak, and each of my flights was right on time. I will say that I only brought carry-on luggage so have no experience with the check-in bag experience (the lines at JFK to check in luggage definitely looked horrendous so keep that in mind when going to the airport). The flight attendants do not all speak English fluently but enough to get by just fine. There were no vegetarian options for the food but I had lots of very edible and quite tasty noodles and rice that got the job done for airplane food. And I feel the need to correct something very misleading in all these reviews - the entertainment options were great! Tons of new Hollywood movies all in English (with Chinese subtitles). And there was absolutely NO smell on my plane. Sat next to perfectly polite passengers on each leg of the flight. I have had a vastly better experience than the other reviewers (maybe I just got really lucky?). But in my opinion China Eastern is a solid airline that provides an average/above average flying experience.

They did not inform me that some countries including CHINA AND INDONESIA required your passport to be at least 6 months valid ! When I booked the ticket, they should have Inform me check the expiration date on my passport, but they didn't. They had me on hold for quite awhile , one lady said to me oh there's no need to argue about it and hung up on me. I'm not saying that they need to keep a list of countries but at least when someone book a flight and provide the passport info, they should really say something like oh hey just make sure you check your passport because it looks like it's less than 6 months valid. The staff at the counter when i was at the airport were also rude, they kept asking if my friend would travel without me and refuses to give her boarding pass to her unless she tells them whether or not she's traveling without me. We were deciding on what to do and they stood there being super rude and unprofessional! I would not recommend their services at all. It's one thing that they refuse to help me or acknowledge their fault but they couldn't even maintain professionalism, extremely rude and I'm extremely disappointed. A Thought to keep in mind though- they are so quick to tell you when you enter method of payment wrong or billing zip code wrong but yet can't tell you about passport related info !

Upon boarding, head phones were available and on my window seat, there was a pillow, blanket, slippers, and a bottle of water already there. There was also a good amount of leg space (at least for a person on the short side). Boarding was organized and efficient. The plane was on schedule during take off and landing. The personal screen entertainment worked right away and there was a great selection of movies. There were many new releases a nice variety of older ones and foreign films. Meals were tasty. For the first one, I selected Beef Bibimbap. This was prepared differently than the American version. It included ground beef, bean sprouts, mushroom, carrots, radish, cucumber, and spinach with rice on the side. There was also Gochugang sauce, Soybean paste Soup, Kimchi, Cake with vanilla and chocolate frosting, as well as Chocolate Muffin. The vegetables were lightly cooked, fresh, crunchy and the beef was nicely seasoned. I enjoyed the rice, which was slightly sticky and very fluffy, soft. The soup had great soybean flavor, but was on the salty side. The cake was light, moist and not too sweet. Breakfast was pretty good, though basic. I picked Eggs over Congee, which came with potatoes, pre cut fruit, bread. After each meal, the flight attendants came with tea and coffee. Flight attendants were pleasant and kind. The restrooms were well maintained. Overall, I felt taken care of and didn't feel like the flight was super long.

The first flight was over 11 hours with a second flight approximately six hours. I'm just going to itemize my concerns and the response from Korean air as follows; - boarded in YVR and was initially pleased with the business class quality, but disappointed that I had to do some cleaning in my cubicle because of food, stains and crumbs on the walls and tray. - the rest of flight proceeded normally with service attentiveness, being lower than other airlines being noted. Thats fine I don't need a lot of attention but I did pay for it... - disembarked in ICN to switch planes and was informed I was being downgraded to economy class. No explanation as to why just pushed to accept it as nothing else was available for days... no other solutions offered. I asked for details but non were given. - boarding the second airplane. I noticed they didn't even have the business class row where my seat would've been located. So obviously swapped with a smaller plane and those in the forward seats got lucky and I didn't. I wasn't even offered business class meals or premium economy or an extra legroom seat just crammed into economy and left to ponder the wisdom of booking Korean Air. - eventually I complained to Korean air and they passed the ball to the booking agent and back-and-forth eventually I was offered about $300 Canadian as a refund which, by my research, doesn't even cover the cost of the downgrade never mind the disappointment and my compressed discs treatment from not having a lie flat seat. - this all happened a month ago and they say they will follow up and they don't. I've asked for a comparison to refund the rest of the trip because I'm afraid it will happen again but they just delay and you don't hear back from them.
