Instead of providing assistance, she resorted to making derogatory comments and even asked, "Are you gonna beat me up?" Such behavior is not what one expects from a reputable airline's staff. But that's not all. We were provided misleading information about my mother's carry-on baggage. Despite it fitting within the size limits, we were told it had to be checked. Communication was challenging as my mother doesn't speak English fluently, and the staff initially refused to take her phone when she desperately tried to ask for my help. After a series of payment complications, we were told her baggage would be charged later and sent to the destination. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a false promise, resulting in a significant delay and unnecessary stress for my mother and me. I originally purchased round-trip tickets (booking confirmation number : AX2KX2) from New York to Phuket, Thailand, with a connection in Doha, for myself and my two children. Our return flight on March 14, 2026 was suddenly canceled, and shockingly, Qatar Airways provided absolutely no meaningful rebooking assistance whatsoever. We were simply told that only a partial refund for the unused portion of the ticket could be issued. The original round-trip tickets cost me $3,745.83, while the refund offered was only around $1,146.50. Because Qatar Airways failed to properly re-accommodate us -- even though airlines are generally expected to assist passengers with alternative routing, including on partner or other airlines when necessary -- I was forced to spend an additional $4,207.69 out of pocket on one-way return tickets with Korean Air just to get my children home. To make matters worse, the earliest available return option was not until March 24, 2026, leaving us stranded in Thailand for an extra 10 days. During that time, we incurred approximately:* $1,000 in hotel expenses* $1,200 in food expenses* Over $6,400 total in unexpected additional costs Even after the partial refund, I was still left personally covering roughly $5,250 in damages caused entirely by Qatar Airways' cancellation and failure to provide proper rebooking support. What makes this even more upsetting is that I am the sole surviving parent of my two children, ages 11 and 13, after they lost their mother. This delay caused my children to miss two full weeks of school and caused major stress with both their school obligations and my work schedule after our planned spring break return was completely disrupted. I paid $140 for two seats that were clearly shown as a two seat row. When my wife and I boarded, we discovered the row actually had three seats. No one pays extra for a middle seat -- ever. My seat number was k6 and the seat has no cushion whatsoever, I had to stack pillows and blanket to prevent back pain Most incompetent company I've had to deal with. Called someone in Detroit to get information about the plane and flight, he gives me another number to call I believe it was in Chicago. I call that number, another person tells me we don't handle this, you have to call another number. Called that number, that person gave me the original Detroit number. I called Detroit back, another person answers and gives me the information I was asking to begin with. Not done yet. I finally check in and get on the plane, plane was gorgeous and flight attendants for most part were very hard working. Half the people on this flight were idiots, loud, arrogant, dirty and bathrooms even after a couple hours in flight were dirty, urine on the floor, clogged up sinks. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline.
