My husband had business in London, and then we had to take 2 days to fly over to Germany and back for his business. So this was my first time on BA, and it was pretty nice. On our morning flight we were not expecting to have any food, but ended up getting a hot breakfast! (Which was our second for the day!) Then on the way back to London, we had a flight that was between 2-4 pm, which means they do a mini High Tea service for those flights! That was a great surprise, I have been looking forward to having High Tea this weekend in London, and we got to have it at 30,000 feet! It was awesome! I didn't know have the items I was eating, but it was super fancy, just on a smaller scale. I would fly BA again. I do think the customs and passport check-in process could be done a little better to speed up the lines, but for what they were working with it went as well as possible. read more

A great experience on a long 7.5 hour flight from London back to the states. For these long flights, they have screens at the back of every seat with free movies, USB charging ports, and a free pair of headphones is provided. Flew in Club Suites the other day and it was a decent experience. Booked direct and was able to check-in online with a boarding pass, pending document verification at the airport. Terminal 5 at Heathrow is for British Airways with a separate check-in for Club. To my surprise, the queue for full service check-in was quite long. There was a dedicated bag drop line along with a document verification line. The priority screening was helpful for Club passengers although the security process was rather chaotic.... Boarding for long haul flights at B gates is a couple tram stops away. There are limited food options once at the B wing. The 777-300ER was in great shape, especially the cushions in Club Suites. There was a sliding door with my suite which was available after takeoff. I was extremely impressed with the catering out of Heathrow, which seemed to be done by Do & Co. Each course was presented and plated separately. The quality of each course was excellent. I was serviced by the in-flight manager whom addressed me by name with every interaction, which was surprising. Between meal services, I found the crew to be lazy as I had to head to the galley to get more water, some snacks, or a drink. Rubbish wasn't collected from my seat either. The dust bins were rather hard to find in the galley. My flight from Heathrow departed on-time and arrived on-time to SFO. read more

They did audibly call groups by number, but an employee told me to go into a short line to board the plane and told my husband to go into a long line, although we were in the same boarding group. A woman whose seat was in the last row on the airplane criticized me in the concourse and on the airplane for boarding before her. Would pay four times the economy fare to fly business class trans Atlantic? Wife and I did it four times in the past 9 months. Late September 2024 wife and I flew from San Francisco to London, and then London to New York City. Late April 2025 flew from Portland, OR to London, and then London to New York City. All four flights by business class. $3800 per person to go from SFO to LHR. 70,000 Alaska Airlines points plus $1000 per person to go from PDX to LHR. At San Francisco and Portland, we can eat hot food in the BA or Alaska Airlines lounge by showing our business class ticket. There is an additional cost of $120-$150 to book your individual seat. Otherwise you can select your seat at no charge 24 hours in advance of the flight. In our case we could wait until 7 days before the flight due to our status with British Airways. Going by Business Class means we can eat in the British Airways lounge at Heathrow, check in our luggage, go through security and get our paper ticket all with the Club World or business class line. Like Hawaiian Airlines, British Airways doesn't have the capability to store tickets electronically in android phone's wallet. British Airways' Boeing 787-10 can seat 256 passengers with 1 restroom for the 8 First Class open suites, 3 restrooms for the 48 flat bed Club World seats, and 2 restrooms between the 35 World Traveller Plus and 165 standard Economy Seats, with 2 more restrooms in the back of the plane.   The seating configuration is 2-4-2 in standard Economy, 2-3-2 in premium economy, and 1-2-1 in business class. Each business class lay flat bed seat takes up the same amount of room as 4 economy seats, and every business class seat is by the aisle. The lay flat seats are 72" in length, compared to 31" pitch in economy and 38" pitch in premium economy. 10 hour flight starting at 7pm and landing at 1pm the next day, flying over the polar route at night and during the daytime mainly over ocean. So there was no demand for window seats going from the West Coast to London. London to New York flight was an 8 hour flight during the day, and I just missed out getting a window seat within the 7 days before the flight. Full meal with appetizer, main course, and dessert and unlimited beverages. Only time I ate British food during my trip, as ate Indian, Thai, Turkish, Chinese and Italian food in London. White leather vanity kit include eye shades, disposable socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash. Don't toss that White leather kit, as it sells for $90 on Amazon. Great entertainment with airline provided excellent headsets and displays built into the back of the seats, and adjustable angled. Best thing of course is the lay flat seats, and being able to get 4 hours sleep between dinner and breakfast, and waking up the next day refreshed. It helps that no crying babies nor loud snorers. read more

We got to the airport early and it seems as if they don't open the check in counters until three hours beforehand. There were two lines and both were long. One line was meant for "Club Europe" and the other was the regular line. When it was time to board, there was a large crowd of people- disorganized. The sign said all groups, but they were only taking the first few groups. There was space for people to queue up in a better manner, but it was not utilized. Club Europe is the short-haul business class. The middle seat is left free, with a tray table that can be used by the passenger on the left or right. Club World is the long-haul business class cabin. The cabin features lie-flat beds and also a door. read more

BRITISH AIR - NO DELAYS... We started our European journey from the Miami International airport direct to Heathrow, England on British Airways. Twenty days later, we had a British Airways connection flight from Edinburgh, Scotland airport back to Heathrow with a short 1.5 hour no frills layover. Then a long nine hour return flight to the Miami International Airport. The three flights were not delayed and the staff at the airport were friendly and guided us well. The flight attendants were attentive and we were provided food and liquor on the two extended flights. I think I wouldn't mind British Airways so much if I didn't normally use United, which is getting more efficient by the year. The British Airways app has no live activities. So you don't get live updates for gate changes or delays. You're not even notified via text. You have to go into the app itself and drill down into your specific reservation and keep refreshing to get any type of update. They don't also have electronic tickets through the app. It's a pdf sent to your email. After last year, running into the security feature they have where screenshots of tickets don't scan, we just automatically get our tickets printed out now as a safety measure, but overall it's just not a great design. Additionally, there's no map for the terminal in the app like United has and there's no baggage carousel number sent to you when you land. All small things that add up to a more rough flight experience. All in all, they are often our only option for flying to and from LHR, and would probably be a 3.5 otherwise, but we definitely wish they put a bit more money into developing the logistical structure United has. read more

Boarded our flight back to LAX from Heathrow in London. We have a very friendly professional crew ready for our 10 3/4 hour flight in this spectacular Air Bus A-380 two level aircraft. We're moving out to a runway. We experienced a 2 hr delay due to weather and a technical issue. All is good now they brought us a glass of wine which settled everyone down, BA knows what they're doing. We were provided with a menu everything looks delicious. Our 5721 mile journey has just started we lifted off at 179 mph into the gray overcast 64 degree London skyline . Expecting 80 degrees in LA 10 hrs later.... We're making our descent to LAX after delightful flight delicious meals, attentive staff, quiet cabin to catch up on sleep just a fantastic experience we should be touching down at 7:15 PM thank you British Airways, you've got class read more

I flew on British Airways from Heathrow, London to Dallas, Texas on Airbus A380. I treated myself to Club World business class cabin on this 10 hours flight. Nice lay flat seat with many compartments to store your personal items. A ton of movies/shows on demand. I especially like the door to my "cubicle" for additional privacy. Soft pillow and blankets. It's what you would expect on business class. Champagne on arrival. The meals were okay. I had better meals on EVA Airlines and Philippines Airlines. The flight attendants were nice enough. The flight was delayed for about 30 minutes but they caught up and we arrived pretty much on time. Overall, it was an uneventful flight. read more

I booked a flight from Cyprus to Washington for my friend's wedding. I paid extra so my ticket would include baggage and seat selection with no additional fees. A few days later I received an email stating BA changed my return flight to leave from Baltimore not Washington Dulles. Since I will be unable to travel to another city and state for the flight I asked to be rebooked on a flight leaving Dulles. I was then informed I would need to pay to pick my seats. I told the agent I already had a ticket that included seat selection but was told there was no "free seat selection" on my new flight. I said my seat selection wasn't free but included in the ticket. They said because my flight changed due to "operations" that I would need to pay for seat section. I paid €170 for seat selection. Seven days later I received an email saying something was wrong with my booking and to call. After a 27 minute phone call I had to reenter my credit card information and was told I needed to check back in 7-10 days to see if the card was actually able to be charged. It really doesn't make sense to fly BA again when there are better options out there. read more

After finishing my trip up from London, Scotland and Ireland, I flew British Airways from Heathrow to San Diego. Not only did my flight depart on time but immediately as I was seated, I was offered by the flight attendant to move from Business to First class. This was an absolute plus for me. Everything was great including the service from the entire staff, Pilot gave us a smooth flight and having flown with British Airways a few times, I wouldnt hesitate booking with them again. On the flight from London to Rome, British Airways really missed the mark. In addition to feeling that the crew was indifferent to the passengers on board, they served us a snack called "Love Corn." I am not sure what this really was, but I can assure you it was something that should never be fed to human beings. It looked like something that you would feed to farm animals. Ah British Air, stodgy, clubby, old fashioned. "Just ok". And I'd generally agree and not my first choice of air travel. So why the "4"? I have found the people serving the airline very good. They have a lot of pride and do their best to deliver good service. Let's remember they have nothing to do with the food-- they didn't make it. As far as seating configuration that boarders on the ridiculous sometimes the same applies. So this review is being written for First Class service from LHR to SFO. Yes, I know nobody flies first anymore. We usually do Biz and it's just "ok"-- this time we got lucky and got first, just because. To make things even better it's an A380, double decker. Big place with lots of comforts. There are only 16 seats in first and a bevy of staff to make sure we're all happy. Starting with the private pods complete with sleeper suits should you be so inclined ( remember your baby years?) a generous cabin with lie flat bed, TV, Wi-Fi (free) and a menu that will keep most people very happy. Fine China, first class booze choices, need I go on? I included menu for reference to display all of the above. Actually quite good and would give your local restaurant a run for its money. The beef carpaccio was one of the best I've had including the ones from Italy. We're on time so far so no complaints. To really be fair, the flight in Biz from Athens to London was a 3. Lousy leg room, average eats ( who really cares after pure indulgence while in Greece} cramped seating minimal toilet facility. Oh, Biz is just coach with the middle seat empty. There's a reason BA has such a horrible Yelp Rating. After our BA flight to London was delayed, we missed our connecting flight from London to Madrid. First off, they have no one in person to help you- so they say. They will give you a card and tell you to call a phone number to get rebooked. What?! You mean to tell me with all the agents in person no one can help me? We learned that was actually false after trying to navigate the call center for hours, because when we finally spoke to an amazing agent at the counter, he did in fact help us. Collins, you are a good good man and do a great job (unlike literally everyone else that we met). Everyone else seemed perfectly content for us to miss our connecting flight with no option to rebook. Another thing I'll add is that I noticed a big difference in flight quality from flight to flight. On our way to London, the flight was great and the staff was attentive. On our flight home from London, we were surprised that the staff was not as attentive. They offered way less service than our overnight flight. They probably only came through the cabin twice with waters on a 10.5 hour flight and we were seated in premium economy. My seat was also broken and I wasn't able to recline. I paid so much more for a premium economy seat just to be stuck in the upright position. BA credited me in a voucher that expires in one year which I won't even use. What a waste. read more

BA needs to ensure all their airline partners abide by the law and provide high quality services. I've booked a flight from BA. It turned out Iberia was operating it. Unfortunately Iberia refused TWICE to allocate me aisle seats free of charge due to medical reasons, justified by an official document. Instead, they contravened Regulation EC 1107/2006 by demanding that I pay for such a simple request. Breaching the law to commercialise passengers' health issues is completely unacceptable. Open your eyes, BA: you hold responsibility for all flights booked through you, regardless of which other airline is operating them! Please be more rigorous in supervising service quality amongst your partners. read more

I expected to experience delays given that Heathrow was completely shut down. I did not expect to have my flight completely canceled and to be told by the very rude ticketing agent there was nothing they can do. My flight originated with American Airlines, with a layover in Heathrow. The BA part of my flight was canceled without explanation. I booked a one way fare to HTR so that I could catch my final flight to Charlotte. Because my flight was one way and no longer connected to my AA flight I was told we had to collect our checked bags and re-enter the airport. The problem was we didn't have the necessary visa to leave. Eventually, we found a ticket agent who was able to pull our bags. Two friends we were traveling with decided to go through a different process with the same results. All this to say, we got what we needed -not because most employees were helpful but because we're used to working with lists they know how to go with it. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE. We flew from Portland direct to London, and we got an amazing price. Buyer beware of the exorbitant baggage fees, that's our bad for not checking but we were expecting the famed British hospitality and received zero. No one came by for nearly the entire flight to collect garbage, check on any passengers, nothing. They gave us the meal, then nothing until an hour before landing when they came by with a snack. We watched a lady across the aisle have to deal with a wine bottle for about 7 hours of the flight. That was the first thing, the next thing was our flight from Heathrow to Edinburgh, where we have been bumped off of our flight 3 times now. Absolutely ruining the vacation, as we only had a few days there but now get half a day less because they can't get a seat we booked almost a year ago. Double talk at customer service, still can guarantee us seats, we are going on 8 hours now, sitting at the airport. I've never experienced such a complete breakdown of customer service. They told us they had seats but then said they had to wait until the flight "closes" until they can assign them. That's their rule. Never been treated this way ever. Our flight for tonight from JFK was canceled this morning by British Airways because of the electrical fire. Their replacement flight is for MONDAY night! I was on the phone for one hour at 7:30AM with a nice man who tried his best, to no avail. We were willing to fly to Manchester or Paris, or leave from Boston or Newark, but he had nothing. As a result, we will be losing three nights in the hotel we paid for and $300 worth of ballet tickets. We tried to move the return trip forward to 3/31, but the hotel wants to charge us more for those three nights. We decided to try for two nights, but will lose a day of our first vacation in six years. To add insult to injury, they are now saying things will be up and running tomorrow at Heathrow. Two additional calls to BA produced no better results. They had a United flight on Sunday night from Newark which arrives at 6AM Monday and we would get the last two seats on the flight. We are 74 and 77 years of age. This would not work for us. To me, this is very bad customer service. We have insurance and I will be checking to see how much they would pay if we canceled. I don't even want to go anymore. Between BA and the hotel, it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Here's my complaint I sent to BA after the worse flight of my life! Dear British Airways Customer Service Team, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and disgust with the lack of customer service and discrimination I received on my recent flight from Bridgetown (Barbados) to London Heathrow Airport on 18th August 2024 . During the flight, I experienced a situation where a fellow passenger pushed back his seat while hot drinks were being served, almost causing scalding hot coffee to spill on myself and a small child sitting next to me 42D. When I politely asked the passenger to put his seat back up as I was trying to drink the coffee without spilling it, he verbally abused me without any provocation. To my dismay, the flight attendant who intervened only listened to one side of the story "can you please put your seat up" and immediately sided with the male passenger, showing favoritism and bias towards me. Furthermore, I was humiliated and singled out by the flight attendants for simply trying to steady myself while getting up to go to the restroom, causing unnecessary embarrassment in front of other passengers. The attitude of the staff, especially the dark-haired female hostess, was extremely rude and unprofessional. Despite being visibly upset and requesting to be moved to a different seat to avoid further confrontation with the male passenger, I was informed by Amy (blonde hair) that no seats, including first class seats, were available without any empathy or alternative solutions offered. Even though I was willing to pay for that service. Throughout the flight, i felt dismissed, and discriminated against by the British Airways staff. The lack of care for my safety and well-being, as well as the well-being of the child next to me, was appalling. I cried for the remainder of the flight and was too scared to even move from my seat to use the toilet for fear of further mistreatment.When it comes to flying anxiety, premenopause can heighten feelings of fear and panic. Additionally, physical symptoms such as hot flashes and palpitations can also contribute to anxiety while flying. I expressed this with Amy and informed her that I was overheating with the lack of space and although staff have no control over other passengers behaviours they do have control over their own. And zero empathy was shown. I am writing to express my disappointment in the behavior of some staff members during my flight. I observed that some staff members removed their name badges and turned lanyards around, when I mentioned that I intended to make a complaint about their treatment towards me. Additionally, other passengers were visibly disapproving of the staff's behaviors. It was clear that I was trying to protect a young child from being scolded, and the staff could have simply asked for clarification instead of making assumptions based on previous interactions with other passengers. Furthermore, when I was trying to explain what had happened, one older male lead host rudely asked me to lower my voice, I often have hearing problems and my ears were also popping at the time, and this was the reason, but even that being said I was speaking no louder than him. I was not raising my voice, but simply recounting the situation. This level of discrimination is unacceptable and truly disheartening. I want to highlight the good service provided by Samuel on the flight, who unlike the rest treated me with respect and kindness in contrast to the dismissive and rude behavior of the other staff members. However, the overall experience has left me deeply traumatized and I have no intention of ever flying with British Airways again. I urge British Airways to investigate this matter thoroughly and address the lack of customer service and professionalism displayed by the flight attendants on this flight. I expect a prompt response and resolution to this issue. read more

My flight from London Heathrow to CDG was delayed over an hour for unknown reasons. The gate was changed and announced literally within 20 minutes of the next flight so me along with other passengers were rushing to take the tram to the next airport gate. And then the check in process with the British Airways attendants was so long because they only had 2 people working the counter and were making other passengers check in their carryons since the flight was completely full. I had already checked mine in (not by choice) upon my arrival from LAX and was told upon checking into British Airways that I needed to check in my small luggage. The whole process was very inconvenient and frustrating. read more

I traveled on two completely different itineraries in as many days and my bags were lost both times. I'll ignore all the whiny American reviews and share my personal experience with British Airways. From check-in to final landing nothing but top notch service. I'm not just saying it 'cause I'm really digging the equestrian boots and hair-in-bun look. I'm saying it because I was treated, dare I say it, like royalty on all my flights to London and parts of Europe. I especially loved the super long 12-hours flight from Los Angeles to London. Wait. Who loves 12-hours flights? Okay, I admit I don't exactly love 12-hours flights lol, but if I had to... and in this case we must fly. I choose British Airways hands down. On my LAX to LHR flight I was offered two meals, focusing on British brands, wine, headsets for personal movies, I watched two full movies flying over, and three full movies flying back. And I'm talking latest movies too! Still with enough time to comfortably sleep a few! Drinks were offered every so often too.
