My family of 4 arrived in London Heathrow 3 hours before our flight to ensure a stress free trip back to San Diego. Our 12:40 flight had been delayed for "electrical problems" they were unable to run the AC therefore could not Pre board the flight. After an hour or so they had us board the flight, at which point they turned off the AC because the same electrical problem would not allow them to start the engine and they need another piece of equipment to make it happen, apparently the temp AC and Machine that jumpstarts the plane are not compatible. The first machine failed, so it was roughly two hours on the plane at the gate without AC while they tracked down new jumper cables. At this point I was uncomfortable but not too wooried about our connecting flight as it was a 3.5 hour layover to Philly... flight was great once airborne however the hits kept rolling when we landed. We had 1.5 hours to make it through customs and get on the connecting flight with their companion airline American Airlines. The first hour was spent waiting for our baggage. I was looking for the B.A. staff which we were told would be facilitating our connection, there was nobody. I have global entry for my family and TSA recheck on all flights, but for whatever reason when we arrived at security our connecting boarding passes did not have TSA. We were told to go to American Ailrlines Kiosk to reprint our tickets, but the machines were down. Once through we sprinted to our gate. Relieved our plane was still at the gate! Only to find our prepaid assigned seats had been given away and we were not allowed on the flight. 6 hours later I'm checking in to the free hotel (a king bed for a family of four) and am booked on a flight arriving in San Diego 16 hours after our planned arrival. When I called British Airways to discuss the situation I waited on hold for 30 minutes, was told to hold while they transferred to the right department, then hung up on me!! As I'm writing this I'm sitting on the floor of a hotel room, as there is one bed!! My kids are hungry and crying and I'm at my wits end. I'm wondering what happened to the "staff" that was going to help expedite our transfer when we got off the plane?? They are probably resting comfortably in the Marriot I spent an hour staring at as I waited for a shuttle to this crappy hotel. It amazes me you can Pay $6,000 for a flight and there is absolutely no one receiving that money who cares. I'm suppose to be home right now with our dogs, but instead I'm crossing my fingers that my flight that I have to get to by 4:50 in the morning makes its connection in time in Chicago tomorrow. We flew from San Diego to Barcelona through London Heathrow in July. 3 of our 4 checked bags did not make the connection to Spain. The clerk offered to have it delivered to us rather than wait for the next flight, and since it was already 9pm we wanted to get the kids to bed and the bag was to be delivered by midnight. It never showed up and they never called or texted until the next morning to say that the bags should arrive between 8am and noon, so we waited at the room for them. Around 11am I got a text saying they would be delivered between 5-10pm. Our one bag was the kids clothes, so we had to decide whether to buy new clothes or trust that the bags would arrive. We decided to wait for the bags and did a little sightseeing. At 10pm with no word from BA I called and was told the bags would still arrive, but when I tried to explain that I'd been told that several times now and was concerned the agent disconnected the call. I waited up until midnight with no word from them. The next morning they again texted to say the bags were at the airport and I should go there to pick them up; because we were in a "pedestrian area" of the Gothic Quarter they could not deliver them. This despite the fact that taxis and delivery trucks run up and down the streets at all hours. And, I told the baggage clerk that we were in the Gothic Quarter from the beginning when I gave the address. It has taken until now to be reimbursed for the taxi to and from the airport since it is not their policy to reimburse for expenses other than clothing and sundries when baggage is lost. From front line customer service representative to managers and the CEO Mr. Keith Williams himself they have steadfastly admitted that they failed to provide acceptable service yet offer no compensation for our 3 days of ruined vacation. No voucher, upgrade or any tangible remedy, just a contrite apology and wishes that I fly with them again. Incidentally, on our flight back to San Diego 3 of our 5 bags did not arrive with us. One was delivered the next day, another the day after, and the third finally arrived 5 days after the flight. Amazingly horrible baggage and customer service with management that is quite satisfied with how they are doing business. Fly British Airways at your own risk! read more

CUSTOMERS PLEASE DO NOT USE BRITISH AIRWAYS Every thing about this journey with British airways from Austin to Dubai- Dubai to London has been very horrible. I am yet to receive my 90.00 refund for paying on line for 2nd luggage on being on traveler plus which I was told in Dubai to get a refund at heathrow as I had paid on line. Was put on hold for hours, the British airways customer service were all very unfriendly . They are rude , based in India and lie and misinform you. Finally the agent or customer relations guy comes on and after a long hold says it will take 7 to 20 days to request and have my 90.00 . It's been over 10 days, I have called them over 5 time on international call charges I was told the refund has been processed but it has not , it's not on my statement. I called my credit card company to dispute the charges. I have already filed for a complaint with better business B. BBB. I also asked for a refund for all the seats I purchased for Accra London and London to Austin. BA charges for the seats and then when one gets in to view or make changes the seats are free and lowered. You are making unlawful money of customers after me paying over 2.000 dollars for the flight. Consumers have the right to request for a refund for the seats.Your disclaimer does not count when you lie and mislead Customers. You are misleading customers. I vowed never to use your airline but could not get a reservation on Emirates ( it's a fantastic airline I will post on social media for the next 6 months if I also don't get compensation for all the inconvenience . When I was checking in it was not clear In fact 24 hours before my journey began now Austin I was charged for 180 dollars for different leg as your website on line messed up and had to call for a refund. I will make sure I put it on yelp, bbb face book etc I need a resolution ASAP. I am not a fan. The first time I flew on BA was this past February and have taken multiple trips with them since. My conclusion is: Don't look for great customer service on British Airways. You'd think that with the highly competitive airline market in Europe that BA would think it wise to differentiate their service with.. well, service? As a result, when I have had a pleasant interaction with a BA employee it has stood out as an exception to my general experience. Every flight and phone call I have had the occasion to experience with this airline over the past 6 months has been unpleasant. Why multiple flights then you ask? Believe it or not there were instances where BA's flight times and fares to/from certain destinations have been more palatable versus the no-service, no-frills competitors. And you'll notice they still get 3 stars for decent snacks, drinks, and comfortable leather chairs on their aircraft. Combine that with the fact that I actually like Terminal 5, and that's where the 3 stars come from. Nevertheless. Two big stars off for the abrupt and aloof flight attendants, unhelpful and sometimes even rude call centre staff, and tardy recognition as to the inconvenience that flight delays have caused their passengers - unless red-carpet fliers get a full apology while the average jane is left to stare in bewilderment at a departure time being changed with no mention of the cause or circumstances surrounding the disruption!! You know, by way of an indirect apology?? Apparently it's too much to ask BA staff to show a little courtesy for a 3-hour delay, added expenses, a shortened city break, and a missed meet-up that resulted from.. oh that's right I wasn't given the reason. read more

O problema foi a ironia: ele disse que, assim como ele, se os passageiros soubessem fazer contas, perceberiam o motivo do atraso. Ninguém estava tendo surtos de raiva pra ele falar daquela forma (embora todos estivessem irritados com o atraso). Todos nós, passageiros, agíamos de forma bastante civilizada. Achei péssimo o tom desnecessariamente irônico do comandante. Após uma hora e meia de atraso, o avião decola. Você se acalma e espera pela refeição, certo? Se for um vôo British Airways, errado. Serviram um mísero copo de suco e um pacotinho (inho mesmo!) de biscoitos salgados. Aquilo pra mim foi um choque extremo! Ainda bem que eu optei pela BA com base no preço (baixo) da passagem. Se eu estivesse esperando um serviço à altura do que eu imaginava que fosse a companhia, teria ficado ainda mais decepcionada. Pesadelo do início ao fim! Quer dizer, o fim até que foi agradável, com um belo pouso! Se eu já comprava BA apenas se o preço fosse mais baixo do que o das empresas low cost, agora isso se reforça ainda mais. Trip from Madrid myself and 2 boys (one whose bday was supposed to be the day after we'd returned) through Heathrow to Chicago (ORD). IB Flight (8a) leaves 1.25 hours late from Spain- our 2h window becomes a mad dash to meet security at customs saying BA pulled us off the flight - go see Iberia customer counter. 3.5h later Iberia staff have been unable, they confess they're actually BA staff covering (no actual Iberia staff - even had me call Iberia call center), supervisor (BA) says only option- take a flight tomorrow on our AA partner, we'll put you in a room overnight, dinner voucher, grab your bags and recheck in following day; next day (640) we attempt check-in at AA- no itinerary, go speak to BA, BA turn and say can't help- go to another terminal and find Iberia staff to accommodate. I put my foot down and told the agent to get her manager- he can walk us to the terminal, print our tickets and hand them personally. (750a) find BA agent at the opposite end of counter appreciating AA agent for helping. AA agent firmly says put your bags, here's your tickets- my now 10 y old pipes up 'could you please upgrade me for my birthday?' She smirks and said ask at your gate - maybe they can help you. We're now waiting for the final leg 2.5h again delayed. Thanks to the wonderful staff involved (IB tele - Gian Franco; BA - Georgia; AA - Deborah) - for helping us celebrate my 10 yr old's birthday running around London/Heathrow with his brother and I; mom and lil sis are safe at home- took another flight. I do not know where to begin. I have flown with BA on a number of journeys, primarily the Atlantic transatlantic route. The name 'BA' says it all. "Bad Attitude" on part of the entire flight crew. From the ticket desk all of the way up to the flight itself. The only airline where I had a hostess shout at me for being in the wrong seat. Which of course I was not, she was incorrect and refused to apologize. Once few next to a skinhead/football Yob, chav lowlife. Was Not fun. Though I admit that the airline is not responsible for this. However the guy was obviously a NBP supporter and hate monger. Though it seemed as if the hostess and flight crew may have shared the same ideology. To each his own, though don't expect me to book a flight on British Airways ever again. I could share so many horror stories dealing with BA. I won't bother because it is not worth the time. All I can say is that I do not like flying on a jet where I have to contend with a hostile borderline violent flight crew. If they have such hangups with all of the people of the world perhaps they should have chosen a different career path. I don't which I dislike most, British Airlines or the Gawd awful Heathrow prison camp, um I mean airport. When contacted, British Airways stated they had not received any documentation, contradicting the travel agency's claims. The travel agency claimed to have submitted a waiver request, allegedly rejected by British Airways. Despite multiple follow-ups, the agency has not provided confirmation. This situation has placed a significant emotional, mental, and financial burden on our family. It's been 2-3 weeks with no resolution. They get 4 stars from me not because their service is the best but because I feel safe on them and they haven't had a fatal accident since 1976 on an old Trident flight (and even that wasn't BA's fault). The food might be better on Air France but I do not trust AF's safety. I've flown BA to Portugal, Gibraltar, Australia, Belfast, Plymouth twice, Newquay, Jersey, Manchester thrice, New York, Moscow, Rio de Janeiro twice, San Francisco, Tobago, Brussels and Spain. Sometimes delays occur and their staff can be a bit snotty. On a flight from Gatwick to Plymouth I had that was cancelled due to ice, we were put up at the Marriott Hotel and coached the next day. Certainly not the best service but I certainly trust them to stay in the air. Yes I've upgraded my review to 5 stars. Have just redeemed my One World frequent flyer points on BA for return to Brussels (had to pay £30 to cover taxes). Beautiful A320 aircraft from Heathrow return with lovely, professional cabin crew. Their system showed our flight as confirmed all the way until we arrived at the airport, where they suddenly claimed we didn't have a ticket. Their solution? Pay up or stay behind. Customer service response? Nothing but pure gaslighting. "It's PayPal's fault, wait no it's Gmail's fault wait no it's Microsoft Office's fault.... And well you should have known to look at your account portal to confirm you have a ticket even though you looked at your account portal and it said you had a ticket. But don't worry, we looked reeeaaaallllyyy hard at it, and if it were our fault, we would've apologized." After years as a loyal customer, I'm done. This company are a joke. Over the last year we have tried to travel with them 5 times. They are either on strike or the weather is too bad to fly. I wouldn't mind but all the other airlines flew on those snowbound days . I hope that they do eventually go bust as a level of service this bad does not deserve to survive in this economic climate. This is my first experience with BA, and sine I fly Singapore and JAL fro time to time, my review may be biased. The worst experience in flight delays, on way to Belfast, we got delayed 3 times,luckily that was the last leg of my flight! Now this morning, my 7:50 am flight from Belfast is delayed. Who knows if I can catch my connecting flight.
