I was fed up and wanted them to actually learn this skill, so we did a month long intensive with Maria with them each having back to back private lessons for three days a week for a month. At the end of it, they had overcome some VERY profound water fear and could confidently swim across a pool, dive for sinking toys, and jump in/swim to a wall and climb out independently. Fast forward to today, and he's now a swim coach here and absolutely loves it. There's something really special about seeing things come full circle. He remembered his experience here so fondly that he decided to apply for a job, and now he's thriving in a place that once helped him grow and build confidence in the water. The environment here has always been welcoming and family-focused, and it's clear they continue to create positive experiences for both kids and staff. They're lucky to have Brody, and he's certainly lucky to be part of such a great team. I had been looking for a one-on-one lesson. Kilmers Swim Time, taught by Lori Kilmer sounded just like what I had been searching for. I called her and booked lesson throughout the next 2.5 months to start. My son, who's about to turn 4 yr old has had 5, 30 minute swim lessons now. He started off shy and quiet. Not sure of this new place and person. But with each lesson he has opened up more and learned SO much! Lori has toys on the side of the pool she uses to keep the kids interested and focused in their lesson. She's so good with kids! Her style of teaching has my easily distracted kiddo focused and engaged the WHOLE lesson. It's impressive! Having my son, who is comfortable in water, but did not know how to swim, have one-on-one lessons is so much less stressful. With group lessons with a different company last year I was so paranoid of him going under the water and no one noticing, since they'd be working with a different kid and have their back to the kids who were waiting for their turn.
