We came to British Swim in hopes to grow my daughter's skills and technique. She was first apart of the Shark class then once they launched Barracuda in March 2024, Zoe and Jamal highly recommended her to join. It gave her the opportunity to push herself and grow her confidence in the sport she loved. Zoe has been her main instructor throughout this time and she has always been so kind, encouraging and such a great teacher for her. Being apart of this non-competitive swim team, Barracuda has really allowed growth in her technique, endurance and confidence. If you want your kids to one day be apart of competitive swim, we HIGHLY recommend British Swim School. They will make sure your child is ready to crush swim team try outs and set them up for success! We are grateful for all the swim teachers that have been apart of her journey! (Tesla at UTC!) Also, thank you to Jamal who is always great at communicating and being flexible with make ups! You all truly show how much you value family! I also appreciate the British Swim app, it made payments and submitting absences and scheduling make ups so convenient. Thank you!

They started with Miss Dory, who was so kind, patient, and encouraging--she helped build their confidence in the water from day one. Now they're with Coach Josh, and he's just as amazing. He brings great energy, knows how to keep the kids engaged, and makes learning to swim fun. It's clear he really cares about the kids and their progress, and ours always leave class smiling. We've also had a few other wonderful instructors along the way--British Swim School really puts together a great team.

We cannot recommend Coach Dave from Shark Swim Lessons enough!…read more When my son first started, he had very little swimming experience. In just 8 sessions, Coach Dave helped him learn the foundations of swimming with so much patience, encouragement, and professionalism. We continued lessons with him, and 6 months later Archer is now like a little fish in the water What really stands out is Coach Dave's dedication and ability to connect with kids. He makes lessons fun while still building strong technique, confidence, and water safety skills. You can genuinely tell he cares about every child's progress.

I could do fine in water - could easily swim, as in not die when thrown in deep water. But I wanted to learn to swim laps/distance for triathlons and exercise and just could not figure it out. And I just could not find the right swim instructor or class for this. There's brand-new-to-water classes that teach you not to die in the water. And then there are classes that teach you to improve your technique in certain strokes. I was stuck in the middle - just could not figure out how to do the freestyle breathing right to even start swimming laps. I tried a couple different instructors, both of whom were probably good college swimmers, and they just had no real insight or experience with struggling to breathe. Enter Dave. In one session, he'd taught me 3x as much as multiple sessions with previous instructors and solo practice had taken me. By session 2, was up to being able to at least swim some short back-and-forths. Things got easier each session, and I left the initial package of lessons I bought feeling comfortable in the pool. Have since made a lot of progress, including some long open-water swims in the ocean. All thanks to Dave's great instruction.

My 5-year-old just completed ISR refresher with My Baby Swims and wanted to highlight his progress…read moreand abilities under the instruction of this program. Before ISR, we spent over a year in traditional once a week swim lessons. While he enjoyed the pool, he wasn't swimming independently, showed little advancement and didn't have the skills to get himself to safety. After hearing so many parents recommend Coach Brad, we were fortunate to get into the program. As a healthcare provider, I appreciated the full ISR intake process and personalization of each lesson. They always considered his sleep, diet, and daily routine, and knew exactly when to encourage him while keeping him confident and engaged. Knowing exactly when to challenge a child to advance a skill, when to offer reassurance, and how to do both within the brief window of a young child's attention span is no easy task. My Baby Swims instructors have truly mastered that balance. My son, who once struggled with fear and anxiety when transitioning into the pool area, is now confidently swimming the length of the pool with a huge smile and has the skills to safely navigate the water. Just as importantly, I now have the knowledge and confidence as a parent to continue supporting his progress. Thank you, Coach Brad, Coach Baye, and My Baby Swims, for giving our son the confidence and life-saving skills to be safer in the water.

We had an incredible experience with ISR Swim and Brad's team!…read more We had coach Baye and she was simply amazing! In just 6 weeks, our child went from being hesitant around the water to swimming like a little fish. Beyond the amazing progress, the confidence this program gave us as parents is truly priceless. The entire team was outstanding from start to finish. They were warm, welcoming, and took the time to get to know every child and parent by name, which made us feel like more than just another family in the program. They were proactive in their communication, always explaining what they were working on, listening to our questions and concerns, and checking in regularly to make sure everyone felt comfortable and informed. What stood out most was how they taught water safety in such a positive, encouraging way. They showed our child that the water doesn't have to be scary, while building skills that could truly save a life. The instructors were patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly caring, creating an environment where kids could learn with confidence. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would recommend ISR Swim to any family looking to build water confidence and life-saving skills in a supportive, caring environment. Thank you for everything Baye, Brad and team!!

Had an amazing experience with the WCEMT San Diego location (Aka get Spencer as the instructor). As…read morea newbie into healthcare/emergency services etc and without any previous knowledge like anatomy classes etc, I had so much to learn, just listen in lectures and you'll pass and do great. I did the accelerated course for 5 weeks Mon-Thu 8am-5pm. Tips: 1. whether you have general knowledge of the topics covered in an EMT course or not, acknowledge that you are gonna be digesting a lottttt of new information. Get good sleep, take your notes, apply yourself don't just show up to class and expect to pass 2. Create a good set up. I did my sign/symptoms homework over the weekend in addition to the online JBL quizzes. (both graded). This way during the week all I had to worry about was learning new information, being ahead, and studying for the in person quiz and exam. 3. Ask questions, the instructor is a tool that you can use. They are always there to help you and want you to succeed. Super knowledgeable and helpful, just have the courage to ask questions, especially when it's needed. 4. Sign up for your 2 required EMS rides early, if you do them in the second or third week it's better. A lot of the students including myself put dates for the last 2 weeks of the course, however EMS services can only have so many ride alongs.Hence, I just finished the course and am taking my 2nd ride along the week after because it was backed up. Do it early. 5. Make friends in the class and help each other out. We were all able to bond over the topics that were harder to learn etc, it ended up helping a lot. Everyone the first week is obviously nervous but everyone is super nice just put yourself out there. 6. When your class is studying together for the quiz or exam and Spencer is talking, listen CAREFULLY to what he says, if he repeats something or says it slowly, it's for a reason, study it for the quiz/exam. You will be doing yourself the biggest disadvantage if you don't listen to the instructor in class. 7. The skills assessments. You get out what you put in. Skills instructors are there to help teach you and correct you in practice, but be able to make mistakes and learn before skills testing day. 8. Manage your time effectively. Some students understood the information better than others and were able to enjoy themselves more outside of class time, for students like myself, the information was hard to grasp and the extra time outside of class is needed to study more. Expect to be done with class, go home and study what you learned. 9. Quizlet helps a lot, however cross check the information on there with your notes. (the book wasn't really much of help). But Spencer goes over all of the important topics in detail. Quizlet is good for practice but know your definitions and how things work. 10. Not everyone in the class but most were taken as a prerequisite for Fire Service. Super nice to network with everyone on this journey and get more information about the different routes people are on. I believe we started with 60 individuals and ended with 40 passing or so. Overall, the class was not that difficult if you followed these. At a bare minimum, turn everything in on time, keep up in the class or get ahead, LISTEN to the instructor. Great experience. Also the Cargo Cafe coffee shop there is phenomenal. Very convenient. About to take NREMT, super confident and studying pocket prep after the class. Goodluck y'all.
