I could do fine in water - could easily swim, as in not die when thrown in deep water. But I wanted to learn to swim laps/distance for triathlons and exercise and just could not figure it out. And I just could not find the right swim instructor or class for this. There's brand-new-to-water classes that teach you not to die in the water. And then there are classes that teach you to improve your technique in certain strokes. I was stuck in the middle - just could not figure out how to do the freestyle breathing right to even start swimming laps. I tried a couple different instructors, both of whom were probably good college swimmers, and they just had no real insight or experience with struggling to breathe. Enter Dave. In one session, he'd taught me 3x as much as multiple sessions with previous instructors and solo practice had taken me. By session 2, was up to being able to at least swim some short back-and-forths. Things got easier each session, and I left the initial package of lessons I bought feeling comfortable in the pool. Have since made a lot of progress, including some long open-water swims in the ocean. All thanks to Dave's great instruction.

Right away, we just saw Coach Brad teaching ISR, and we were just amazed. Our son picked it up pretty quick and started to love the water and helped us to demystify myths. For example, how using floaties for your kids actually teaches them how to drown faster, which we didn't think about but we learned here. In just six weeks, our toddler loves the water and doesn't need floaties, and now we feel confident that, bringing him to any body of water, he's gonna be good and we're having fun with him. We're so grateful for Coach Brad and the whole ISR team! Highly recommend this to anybody, and we're going to be enrolling our next child in this too.

They even cried longer than average throughout their first sessions. Despite the tears, it was amazing to see how quickly they learned and developed new skills. Our 5 year old is so confident in the water now and learning traditional strokes, and our little one has even started asking to swim. This place is great for swim safety for toddlers. I do recommend that. My 4 yr old learned safety and to be comfortable in water here but not really swimming. She went to another placed and was swimming in the first week. My review is right in the middle. It has some positives and negatives. Not a horrible place but not the best either.
