They tried to make me sign this b***t after I ve spoken up.

I took a nail tech program this summer and I truly regret it. This place is a joke. I graduated this school in August, they are very greedy and disorganized + there is always some type of drama going on: teachers sleeping with each other's boyfriends and performing waxing on their vagina, fights, etc. PLEASE GO TO THE SCHOOL IN THE CITY (NOT BRITTANY !!) THEY CHARGE $2,300 WHICH IS $2K LESS AND THEY ARE SO SO MUCH BETTER. In the beginning of the program I had to study online with other students from the Bronx and couldn't understand a thing because they couldn't set up the mic and cameras properly. Sometimes the teacher would forget to let me in and I had to call the school crying and begging them to contact the teacher so they can let me in. Not to mention we began the program from the chapter 15? Doesn't make any sense. We had different teachers basically every single day until mid June. I spilled an acidic primer on my leg that they provided to me while practicing at home and I still have a chemical burn. It hurt like crazy. We then had take a class in person which was chaotic as well. They literally put us in the basement with no ventilation, no windows, there was mold on a tv, no nail polishes we could use, no implements, no pedicure chairs! I began feeling dizzy because we didn't have any windows nor ventilation I had to breathe in all the nail dust/ acetone smell/ monomers/ polishes etc, I used to literally leave the classroom lightheaded and sick. I complained about the CEO and they tried to kick me out and keep the money because I am an immigrant and they think I don't understand English and can just sign whatever (these people are not very smart, stupid I would say). Everyone was complaining about this school but the owner is the way too narcissistic to admit that they have to do something about it until they run out of business.. they will do everything to take money from you such as they make up stories like: "I can see you miss a class so you have to make up hours and it's going to cost you $*number*" even if it's not true. I ve never missed a single class and they had an audacity to pull "missed hours" card on me after I graduated. Also the students upstairs (cosmetology class) don't get any towels AND HAVE TO USE PAPER TOWELS ON CUSTOMERS!! PLUS THERE IS BARELY ANY HOT WATER IN THE BUILDING. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO SOAK OFFS WITH NO HOT WATER?? THIS IS JUST EMBARRASSING!!

Today i went in for a color touch-up, something I had done about 6 times before. A dumpy, stocky, barrel of a woman in red lipstick started screaming me out for not know color codes. And not having a photograph of what was done in the past. What a nsaty attitude and a scream down in the middle of the salon. Reprimanding me about not knowing these are students and I SHOULD KNOW WHAT TO ASK FOR. Excuse me? I am paying $72 dollars for a service. Even if its student, I expect a bare minimum of service for my money. You are not doing clients a favor. Clients are doing you a favor to sit there for 5 hours so your students can make an absolute mess of their hair and then pay $72. Onto the students. The quality of students they have have zero competence. Again a bare minimum is expected when you charge $72. The students are so incompetent that they have no busienss even being students in any area. The school is doing a very poor job recruiting students. Most of the times you leave the insititute worse than you came in. The students dont give a rat's tail what they do. They are too much in a rush to sit and play with their iphones Lastly, they downright destroy your hair. During my blowdry she yanked so much of the hair out. I came out with a splitting headache. And after all this more of a surprise: A service that I expected to pay 50$ for came up to $62 plus 10$ tip. I could' ve gone to a professionals salon for this price. What a horrible experience. (you should've seen what they did to the client sitting next to me.)

They will consult and try to do their best with you. I'd recommend coming here for a simple service nothing complicated. They've since moved to a Brooklyn location much brighter and spacious than their previous SoHo space.

She really listened to what I was looking for and even was willing to make a few adjustments after she had dried my hair. Everything from the washing of my hair, which was very relaxing to the gorgeous blowout she gave me was phenomenal. The only downside of the experience is that it does take a while because there is some waiting for the instructor to give feedback ( i.e. I was in there from 9 AM to 12 PM for my haircut) but Sophia was so easy to talk to the time flew by. I can tell all the students really take their time with haircuts and I would come back again!

Hi Everyone, I teach Cosmetology here in Brooklyn. I am looking at reviews. The first thing is,…read moreClients need to remember that they are at a school and the students are practicing their Craft. Second, many clients come into the student salon with high expectations. These are soon to be cosmetologists who are practicing for the state board and also practicing their craft. The student goes above and beyond for these clients. So, when a client is rude towards students and staff, they will be banned from further services. Clients need to remember these are student stylists. Teachers here do not have favorites, We, have students who try hard, and we have students who will not work. We have students who are all day long disrespectful and we have students who are the Best and we know they are going to be the leaders in our Industry one day. We can only encourage students to work hard every day. This is a clock Hour school, which means you work all day long, you stand up and you do work when on the senior floor. We have students who will try anything not to do any work. We have rules in place for these students and bad behaviors. This industry is about politeness. Cosmetologists should not be impolite, not should they be cursing at others and especially their educators, and especially on the salon floor. Students need to realize that it takes two hands to clap. Do the work. You will have no complaints from teachers. Be respectful, Be polite. No Exceptions.
