With other haircuts I would have to spend 45 - 60 min a day trying to make my hair look passable. Since Jessica has been cutting it, I haven't needed to spend more than 2 min styling it (if running fingers through it constitutes styling) and my hair looks better than it ever has. Ya'll - COVID did a number on my hair. With the closing of salons, my hair was exposed to some good…read morethings (think no heat/air drying) but also some bad - think an uneven hair cut (as my hair grows at different rates creating a mullet almost) and the darkest roots known to man. I'm a natural blonde, but was in desperate need of a cut and color to get my mane back into normal color and shape. With my main hair stylist on maternity leave for the foreseeable future, I turned back to my OG girl and friend, Caitlyn, now Hairz2U. Having moved from a different salon in Southlands, I had yet to check out her new space - as she and other artists pay for their own booth in a communal space! Even better - I was excited to get an appointment with her in under 2 weeks. Caitlyn is normally booked way way out, so this was a true treat! She's easily reachable through Facebook, Instagram and via her website. Still in a COVID world, Caitlyn came to greet me at the entrance, took my temperature and led me to her space, which was comfortable and cute - creating the perfect space for pampering. While the building is large, each space belongs to a different stylist who pays for their own booth - as mentioned above - and takes their own clients - creating a space full of local business owners! After explaining my wants - bright blonde with highlights to create dimension and a blunt bob - we got down to business and quickly picked up where we left off - even after not seeing each other for a few years. Caitlyn is truly one of those people who makes effortless conversation with anyone, all while foiling an entire head in under an hour. We then played the waiting game - thankfully my hair takes to blonde well - and before I knew it we were onto the cut and style. I've always admired Caitlyn's hair, so with a few snips here and a few snips there, I received my desired cut and the cutest wavy style. I wasn't in there more than 2 hours, and left with the perfect new do! While many stylists will charge a pretty penny for a cut/color and style, Caitlyn does not. Caitlyn is extremely reasonable and after all was said and done, I paid just $150 WITH a 20% tip! She takes ample care to ensure each customer - including me - is satisfied with the results. Although she doesn't offer products, she was able to recommend a few ones she liked that were also reasonable in price. Despite how far away it is for me to see this lovely lady of mine, I will return time and time again!!
