THEY CARE!!!!! My mom had a stroke that has left her disabled. Up until her stroke my mom religiously got her hair done. I am a client myself but haven't been in a while. I called on a last minute whim to see if there was anyway to accommodate seeing her. TODD WAS AMAZING. I need to post this because I came to this salon based on stellar reviews. I went in to get my pixie cut cleaned up. Honestly I knew when I walked in that this wasn't the caliber of salon I'm used to ( it looked dated, had mid grade products, think Super Cuts) but I decided to give them the benefit of a doubt. Again the reviews were great. The girl cutting my hair was professional and kind but that is where the high marks end. FIRST I was sent home with wet hair that bothered me but I was told by the owner that 50% of their clients apparently don't want to leave with styled hair...ok...fair enough. When I got home and my hair started to dry I realized that the top layer of my hair was chopped in a blunt line about an inch from my scalp. PLEASE see the attached photo (it looks even worse in person!) I went back in and the manager said " wow did she use a razor?" Um.... Obviously.. then she stated "I wouldn't want to even try to touch that!!!) she did offer to TRY and give me a haircut like Jamie Lee Curtis....um....no thank you. She ended up refunding my money and I now have to pay a talented stylist to fix this. So in closing visit this place at your own risk, if you feel like getting a terrible haircut at no cost, and if you have extra money in the bank because TRUST ME your going to need several stiff drinks when you look in the mirror!!! read more

When I was 15 and was starting to get up-dos for homecomings or proms. This is when I met Danita and she is AMAZING!!!!! I love her and she's always able to get me in. She's done up-dos, drastic cuts(over 6 inches), colors (blonde to chocolate brown and back) and anything else I've ever wanted to try. I've never been disappointed!! You must give Danita a try!!!! I've been coming here for about 2 years. Have gotten hair cuts from a few of their stylists, but have eventually stuck with Sammii as my go-to stylist. She is very professional, and exceptionally fast, without hurting the look of my haircut. I always have a pleasant experience with Sammii, and always enjoy the chit-chats. A few times in the past, I had to get a cut with Todd due to Sammii not being available. Todd is also very good, and very entertaining. So far, this is my go-to salon for haircuts. Sammi did a great job with my hair and repaired a lot of challenges from two previous places that didn't quite get it right. The price was reasonable and discussed up-front, which I appreciated, because I have a lot of hair and have had some unpleasant surprises with other salons. Not sure why other reviewers are saying that they felt it was unprofessional or chaotic, as I've never seen that. I have several friends/family members who also go to Hair Junkyz and no one has ever had a problem. It is informal, and a little loud due to the salon having a concrete floor and a high ceiling, but that's not a reflection on the staff or the service. (I'm only mentioning it because if you're looking for a spa-type relaxing experience in a quiet place, this might not be the place for you). That said, if you want a great color/cut from a well-trained stylist who keeps up their professional education, this place is definitely worth a try. Update: Sammi was out of town recently for a few days, so I had Todd do my cut and color. He did a great job as well, and was friendly and fun while he was doing it. This place could not have been more unprofessional. I visited the salon in September 2013 for a haircut. The cut was nothing special and in line with Super Cuts or Cost Cutters. My stylist used foul language constantly throughout my haircut and also felt it necessary to let me know at what age both her and her daughter lost their virginity. No better than Great clips. For a $43 hair cut this place is nothing special at all. My hair was clean and just colored by myself that morning so the girl didn't wash my hair. No pampering scalp massage or anything. She looked only once at the picture I showed her for reference. No layers like I asked for. Just a blunt bob cut. I asked it to be left a little longer in the front but that went in one ear and out the other. Then you'd think at least she could flat iron my whole head of hair but no. Just the top layer of hair so the under part was still wavy. In and out in 20 mins. I paid them over $2.00 a minute for this terrible, careless haircut. read more

My first visit and was in and out within 30 minutes.. Janice was my stylist and I was a bit disappointed. She spent more time washing and drying my hair than the actual cut and styling. During the initial consultation when she asked what I would like done she only did one of the three things I mentioned. I asked to cut off a couple of inches, add some layers, and frame my face. It's pretty obvious that Kelly's employees really are loyal to her...and it comes across in their professionalism and services! I have used this salon twice and had good service. I recommended my mom to get her hair cut there. She comes home from the appointment in tears. She asked for an A line and Janice butchered it. I've had that same hair cut before so I know how it should look. Janice cut off chunks in the front with no rhyme or reason. The back was completely uneven. She disregarded the fact my mom has a deep side part and started trimming as if she had a middle part. When she got to a section where she didn't know how to cut/correct she told my mom to just tuck that hair behind her ear. I'm appalled! I called the owner and demanded they fix it for free and to refund my moms money (oh yeah! Janice made her pay for that hack job of a hair cut). The owner was extremely apologetic and promised to help anyone she can. I really appreciate that but I refuse to recommend this salon anymore. read more
