Didn't listen to ANYTHING I asked for. Had to keep asking her to cut because she didn't listen to how much I wanted off the first time. Showed reference pictures and my hair looks absolutely nothing like the pictures. I wanted long layers and face framing. No layers and no face framing AT ALL. I did not want a blunt cut. Got a blunt cut! Also kept tugging my hair really hard. Never ever checked to see if both sides of my hair were even and guess what? They're not! I have a random chunk of really short hair in the middle of my head that I can't even put back with a pony tail. Every single time I've gotten a haircut, they check to make sure the length is even on both sides but she didn't. I feel as though she was also rushing at the end because she had another client, which I understand, but I think it is important to make sure to put in effort into a service someone is paying you for. She was telling me about being on time for her next client too, which pressured me into quickly making decisions and not getting a good enough look at my hair before I left the salon. If you're unable to do a certain haircut, just please let me know and I'll take my business elsewhere. I paid nearly $100 for this cut, and I wish I could get my money back because I am incredibly upset and have to find someone else to fix this disaster. My first visit was ok - super nice girl and I really loved her energy. However, the quality of color was just ok for me. My pink bled through my color and I ended up waiting for it to fade. I had tape extensions put in at the same time she did color correction and cut and it felt very rushed. I was told that after a few days the extensions would calm down and lay flat. Several of them did not "calm down" and pulled and stabbed my scalp in the back. I called her the following week to follow up with extension check-in's and was told she didn't have time for me to check in with my color or extension. She was the one who said I needed to come back the following week to make sure they were good and any hair we needed to trim and shape we could do at that point. Made to feel like I was a bother to her time and schedule - I asked her to take out my extensions ($800 cost with cut color correction). I saw Angelina just over a week ago with the request to lighten/brighten my naturally level 7 blonde hair, to bring it back up to 8.5/9 multidimensional color, a task that has been accomplished on me by other stylists in one visit. Angelina assured me she could get where I wanted to be in one visit, and she got to work. After 3-4 hours of processing, during of which she acted as though the thickness of my hair was a burden to process, had a very loose tongue about the other stylist at the salon, casually mentioned that she keeps no record of client's formulas on file, dropped tools on the ground and used them again immediately without cleaning, and generally acted as if she had been drinking the salon wine--she finally toned my hair for a longer time than I've ever been toned, rinsed me out, and blow dried my hair. The salon lighting was poor, however I should have questioned at that time the reddish toned roots that were no where near my natural color, and the gray/blue tinge to the highlights. Angelina took some photos, which seemed acceptable, and I assumed it was bad lighting and left. The next morning, my hair looked gray and dingy, and I met up with a friend who literally said "What happened to your hair?" Never a good sign. I wrote it off as over toning and consoled myself that it would wash out and settle and I would be happy. I waited 36 hours after processing to wash my hair with regular shampoo and conditioner, and while it did take out some of the gray/blue from the lightening on the length, which was good, I could see my roots were definitely only getting more warm red-orange, which was not what I had asked for. I've lived with my hair just over a week now, and it only continues to change to a more and more brilliant shade of orange at my roots, where previously I had healthy dark blonde grow out. Having never had anything like this happen before, I was feeling very disappointed and frankly embarrassed about my hair and the amount of money I spent on it ($300) to have it look like a box dye gone wrong. I reached out to Angelina via text, letting her know I was very disappointed with how my hair had turned out, asking how she helps unsatisfied customers, and stating that I was wanting to have my stylist from home (San Diego) work on it when I was back in town in a few weeks. I was hopefully Angelina would acknowledge her mistake and grant at minimum a partial refund since I would need to pay my home stylist to correct whatever had happened in the process she performed. Angelina got back to me and at first confused me with another client and was quite hostile, and then I sent her some pictures of my hair, and she changed to replying with defense that she'd practiced hair for 15+ years and consulted with "some peers", and that none of whom had seen anything like this ever happen and that I personally must have done something to cause this. How or why I would have done something to my own hair to have it result in needing a color correction within a week of having spent $300 for a professional service (which I've received from other stylists for the last 12+ years with no such issue) just makes no sense, but Angelina stated over and over that I was the responsible party. Through texting, Angelina provided the supposed formula she used (though I don't know to believe her or not since she had said verbatim that she keeps no records) and I in turn showed it to two stylists I've previously worked with back home. Both stylists stated the formula was more processing than necessary to get my desired results, my hair was thus over processed and stripped of all it's natural color, and that I should expect to be charged for a color correction ($$$$$) from any stylists to obtain my originally requested results. Angelina has offered a few times via our texting to attempt to correct this mess and stated that she cares about me being happy with my results, however, each time she continued to insinuate that I did something to my hair after I left the salon and that I'm responsible for this, and that her fixing it would be a favor to me. It's infuriating to have someone blame their mistake as a professional on you as the client paying for services. Due to her stated lack of understanding why this problem happened in the first place and general discomfort at my initial visit, I politely stated I didn't feel confident in having her work with my hair again and would prefer a partial refund. She refused to grant this or to acknowledge that she played any part in turning my hair orange. It seems crazy to have this terrible experience with someone who has such great reviews online, however her defensiveness and lack of willingness to care about her new customer's true satisfaction beyond her own bottom line has led me to leave this review. Angelina may be a good hairdresser for some, but I'd advise thinking twice for fear you'd be out $300 for her "service" and $300+ for the color correction you may need after. read more
