Terrible customer service. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and made me feel like I was being treated as if I were stealing. Everything is locked up, you can't even carry your purse, and they watch you from room to room while rushing you. They couldn't even tell me the lengths of their own wigs. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and sketchy. One of the worst wig shops I've been to. I do not recommend this place and will never be coming back. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this business. I purchased five packs of braiding hair and, later that same day, tried to return them because my hairstylist ended up providing the hair. The products were unused and still in their original condition. I was told they do not offer refunds because their system "doesn't have a return button." That explanation was unprofessional and difficult to believe. If a business has a no-refund policy, it should be clearly communicated to customers before they make a purchase, not explained afterward with an excuse about the register system. Good customer service is about finding reasonable solutions, especially for a same-day return of unused merchandise. Instead, I was met with zero flexibility and no effort to help. Because of this experience, I will not be shopping here again, and I encourage others to be aware of the store's return policy before making a purchase. The owner exudes warmth, expertise and always ready with a friendly chat and spot-on recommendations. THEY MOVED LOCATION. The new space is spacious, organized and clean. The revamped interior really elevates the shopping experience, plus there's way less outside traffic, making it super chill to browse at your own pace. I've been to this place a couple of times before because I needed hair ASAP. The second time I went, I was looking for 40-inch hair and asked her where it was, but she didn't show me exactly. While I was trying to find the length I wanted, she came up to me and said, "Clean up after yourself," in a super rude way. I didn't buy anything that day. I went again to the new location to get some boho curly hair. She scanned the price, then randomly changed it and said she didn't have time to update it when the hair arrived. My daughter has recently become a samba dance performer and big hair is a must with your costumes and heels. However, we are relatively new to the world of hairpieces. We happened to be in the South Bay so I told her to look on Yelp for recommendations. Located in a careworn strip mall, we entered the visually busy store. There is all types of hair, lashes, even gold jewelry. The owner was wearing a bedazzled blouse and baseball cap and asked what we were looking for. My daughter said she needed hair that was at least 30 inches. The owner told us to go behind a small wooden gate and we found ponytails in various colors and textures. My daughter settled on one and I was surprised it was under $20. Now she gets to whip that Ariana Grande pony. This shop is not local to us but we would definitely return. read more

I would only use this place if I really needed to. Everything is behind glass and you have to ask the lady to get everything. I wasn't even able to touch the product until after I purchased it as she kept everything behind the desk. If you're going to supply to the black community you should have some trust in us enough to let us interact with products before we purchase them. I felt like I was being profiled. read more

I came to a beauty store and was genuinely excited because they have sm. the worker didn't make my first time experience good. When i asked if they have ponytail clip ons the lady working just pointed to the back and said "we have a lot". I walked away and took a minute to take a look around. When I was ready I let the lady know which ponytail clip I wanted to look @ the the lady didn't even want to give me the one i was pointing @ she was trying to give me a different product THAT DOES NOT MATCH MY HAIR AT ALL. She was giving me attitude and misinterpreted my words. Tried to flip my words on me "you asked for one with a clip" when i said i didn't want one WITH a clip. I asked to see another product and the employee refused again and pointed to a completely different product. I'm not sure if she was being lazy and just didn't wanna climb up the latter but at the end of the day she's @ her job. I also felt like the lady was a little racist and gave back so much attitude. After she tried giving me a different product for the second time I had to raise my voice and let her know "not the product i'm asking for, and you keep giving me ones i don't like" finally she went up the latter with her ugly ass attitude. She rudely handed the product to me and I took a look @ it and gave it back. Walked my ass right out of there, not before letting her know she was extremely rude. Crazy to see others have a similar experience of rude employees. Please do better with staffing if you'd like to continue people to come in. I was really looking forward to purchasing multiple wigs diving at approximately $500. But the owner decided to follow me into the wig room which I got used to because I'm used to being profiled as a black person. She then asked me why I was taking so long to find what I liked. I told her that she was very rude. And her response was that she was worried about people stealing. I asked her why did she have a camera then. She said it would take too much work for her to look at the camera. She then proceeded to argue with me and asked her employee a young black girl whether or not she agreed. I've been asked the owner if she understood what profiling was. She said that my brain did not understand what she was doing. I told her that I was highly educated and if she wanted to she could pull up a chair get comfortable and stare at me but to be quiet. She continued to want to ramble. From braiding hair, twists hair, curly weave, etc. in all colors. Luckily I found this place. I was calling all around looking for a specific braiding hair brand. Most stores did not have it, and if they did they didn't have the color I was looking for. My final call right before I gave up, was to this place. She said she had it in stock. Other reviewers have suggested the owner might be racist, but l decided to give her a chance, and I was disappointed. The owner may have good intentions, but she is rude and far from polite. Maybe she's dealt with a lot of theft, but it's no excuse for treating every customer like a thief. Certain sections of the store you must be escorted to, and she only wants you talking to her versus her only visible employee. You are expected to wait for her to answer any questions, even if she's busy. She has a vast selection, but labels and prices are not always easy to read, given her display style. The tiny aisles made me feel claustrophobic, and the way she shooed away my American Express and said, "Debit card or cash only" made me feel uncomfortable too. I will not be returning. read more

As far as beauty supply stores go, this is San Jose's typical low-standard fare. Disclaimer; I'm from Chicago so I find myself OFTEN traveling way north to Oakland for ANY beauty supply needs. I'll continue to do that and shop online taking a chance on what is delivered... This store looks terrible. Super tiny janky aisles stocked with awkwardly facing products and overall made my head hurt so I didn't stay long. In fact I left, got in my car, really needed this one product so I went back in to ask the clerk... Why 4 stars, you ask? Well they had exactly the one product I came here for... but it was hidden behind the counter along with what I would imagine is all the other truly desirable products in their inventory... They also have rastafari brand weave in various styles as well which is cool. $7 a pack. Ultimately if I hadn't been directed by my hair braider to come here for this bronner bro's rosemary castor oil I never would have entered. I like to peruse ALL the aisles of a beauty supply store (that's the fun part!!) so I still feel the need to go to Oakland... LOL Summary: come here for specific items only. I read the reviews on this page beforehand and wasn't sure about coming. It was one of the last stores open late so I did go. I'm so glad I went. Yes, it is a bit hard to find things. Nothing is really organized in a particular way. I've been here twice and both times the lady there offered to help me find what I was looking for. She wasn't particular rude at all. I thought the prices weren't bad at all. They have an array of different color hair and extensions. As other reviews have stated, the owner is unkind and over-eager to "protect" her inventory to the point it feels uncomfortable to shop in the store. There are gates to certain sections, and she will answer questions and make comments to you on the PA system while watching you through the cameras. I was told over the PA system that I was not allowed to touch the hair, which defeated the purpose of going to a physical store versus online. The previous ratings were spot on.
