I just had a haircut by Katie Brudny at Cielo and I feel and look so refreshed. I love the feel of the salon, it's fun vibe (hello Halloween music) and it's convenient downtown location. Katie is a true professional and gave me exactly what I wanted from a haircut. She's also excellent at listening and gives great life advice. I had a Groupon for a haircut and highlighting by Larissa. I enjoyed my time with her, even though it was not perfect. She was very sweet on the phone and in person. She was even gracious enough to allow me to use my Groupon after it had expired. She did a great job of highlighting my hair from roots to tips. However, she cut my hair about an inch too short and I told her to make the blonde highlights stand out but she made them "blend in." She was very nice throughout the appointment and answered all of my dumb questions. Next time, I'd think about making an appointment with Laura who seems to be more highly regarded. read more

First of all, shame on me for purchasing a Groupon for something as important as a haircut. I bought one for partial highlight and haircut with Larissa and was thoroughly disappointed. I showed her pictures of the highlights I wanted and cut. During my visit, she told me some odd or not very pleasant things: like I need to take better care of my hair (even though my hair was healthy except for the tips), to brush my hair wet instead of dry, etc. I told her I wanted my highlights to be "blond as can be", and you can't even see any highlights. My hair is medium-dark brown. For the cut, I told her to cut off three inches. I explained the cut I wanted- something that would add volume and keep the length. She cut off a good seven or eight inches. I haven't had to grow my hair out in over 10 years and now it looks like my hair is a grown-out bob. Horrible. I went home and cried. I didn't realize how short it was until I got home- maybe I was in shock. Now I feel like I'll have to get extensions in my hair in order to feel good about my hair length. I had bought a new curling iron in anticipation of my new haircut and now I can't use it for fear I'll look like Little Orphan Annie. Obviously, I will never go back to Larissa. I wish I would've cut my own hair instead. read more

Discovered this place on Yelp. Read all the reviews and skimmed through pictures & it looked as if all fingers were pointing to My. I went in the following day wasn't really greeted because the two ladies working there were busy with clients. Although My saw me during her break, she kindly came back inside and asked if I needed any help. I told her I was looking for something new to do to my hair for the up coming holidays and told her that it would be my first time doing anything major to my hair. She asked me questions about what I did to my hair in the past to make sure that the products she would use wouldn't ruin my hair. She told me she was booked till next year, mind you this was in the month of November, but she was nice enough to squeeze me in. I went to my appointment, took about an hour and a half. And it was all well worth coming here. My did an excellent job! I love my Ombré colored hair. I came home and my girlfriend fell in love with it also. Definitely coming back for maybe a a touch up and a Balayage. This place is Clean, Professional, and you'll come out feeling satisfied with your hair. Thanks My! read more

Totally overdue on my yelp review for My aka @mystylistmy. She's beyond amazing ! Had scheduled an appointment and since she is booked months out I was put on her "wait list" and told to text her every Monday just incase she had a cancellation. I had originally was scheduled about 3 months out, but I was persistent in texting her and she was able to take me just about a month later :)) I went in with a photo of an ombré she had done before for inspiration. My hair is super thick and long so I was really excited to see the outcome. The process took about 2 hours total. Not bad at all. My took her time with my hair and took care of me perfectly :) once my hair was rinsed out& styled I could not stop looking in the mirror lol. The blonde was PERFECT !! No bronze color at all. Blended like a pro. It was better than I had even imagined it'd look. I was more than happy with my new hair. Laura was the first person to have ever dyed my hair and let me begin by saying I am very hard to please and extremely picky when it comes to just about anything. The first time she dyed my hair I wanted to go for a honey brown and I showed her the picture, told her I wanted it EXACTLY as the picture looked and I emphasized this strongly. After she looked at the picture only once I was nervous I might not get exactly what I wanted and I swear to god people this women is a magician with some kind of photographic memory because she got my hair the exact perfect color and everything exactly the same as the picture!!!!! Having been blown away by how good of a job she did the best part is how good their pricing is trust me people you get bang for your buck with this gal! So I've gone back to Laura twice after that time and had another change in heart in hair and decided to go blonde. So disappointed with Larissa! I'd give no stars if I could! After Larissa canceling twice, last minute both times... My daughter and I were FINALLY hoping for a nice salon experience together and I purchased groupons for both services and she blamed groupon for making a mistake and didn't honor my purchase. We had to repurchase, yes...repurchase groupons on the spot just to get a haircut because she already started cutting my daughters hair and didn't have time for a color. Thank goodness groupon gave me ALL my money back. Larissa has horrible customer service and did a horrible job just on haircuts! Don't say I didn't warn you!!! read more

I had been doing TONS of research before I came across My's Yelp page, and let me tell you, it's the best thing I've ever done! I came across her Yelp page and began scanning through her pictures, looking at everything she's posted. I immediately fell in love with her work and texted her right away to make an appointment! I received an answer back immediately and we set a date. I walked into the salon and was greeted by My right away. We started talking and I felt like I had known her for years; she made me feel so comfortable! I had showed her a couple pictures I found online of styles that I wanted, and the process started shortly after. We decided on a more natural balayage/ombre with more face-framing pieces. The process took about 1.5-2 hours, but it went by so quickly! As soon as she finished styling my hair, I looked in the mirror and fell in love with my hair! My did an absolutely amazing job and I am SO happy that I found her! The balayage/ombre looks stunning and the color is gorgeous! My was able to use the photos I showed her as reference and put her own twist on it, which I love! And it's definitely a bonus that she made me feel really comfortable and could talk to her about anything and everything. It seriously felt like we'd known each other for forever! It's awesome being able to connect with someone so quickly! So, ladies, if you're looking for someone to do your hair...MY IS THE ONE TO GO TO! She is the QUEEN! I was referred to him through some friends back almost a year ago and have had wonderful experiences with him cutting my hair. I have not had any experience with any of the other beauticians at the salon, but they seem to all be pretty busy whenever I go to see Anthony.
