Been here several times. Staff is great - knowledgeable and attentive. Food is delicious-hummus, truffle fries, spinach salad, filet. Best hummus I've ever had. Happy Hour is fab with $5 wine. Why oh why can't they control the air conditioning? Ruins the experience when it gets hot and sticky. I'm not talking about warm. It gets uncomfortably hot and then they turn on the a/c. I'd give Brix a 4+. Excellent wine list but I'd like to see a few more reasonably priced selections in the $30-40 range/bottle. We had a great server with food cooked perfectly delivered timely. My dad was in town for work so we met here on a Thursday for dinner. Traffic was bad so he arrived first. As soon as I said my name they got me to our table. Our server was fantastic and checked in at the best times. We had a cheese and charcuterie plate; and then the Caesar salad and beet/goat cheese salad and it was just a fantastic experience. This is the spot you go to if you want really good food with your wine experience. They have wine flights that are great for a wine novice like myself. The brix burger is the most insane delicious gourmet burger I have ever tasted IN MY LIFE!!! I can't even describe the experience it's just that good. I will say that if I am an expert at anything food related its burgers and I have never eaten one close to as good as this bad boy. It's everything you want: a pretzel bun that tastes homemade, a beef patty as big as your face, cheesy bacony (pancetta really but you get it) goodness that just oozes as your sinking your teeth into this monstrosity. If you think it can't get better your wrong because it comes with the crispiest most delicious Parmesan truffle fries you ever tasted. They set the bar in comparison to other places that try to pull it off. The waiter joked that he could only eat half and I still wasn't ashamed that I manage to eat at least 90% of it every time. Wow! We have been coming to Brix since they opened. Tonight we had reservations at Brix for a party of 2. The room we were in was SO loud due to a party of 6. One table completely ruined the meal. When we mentioned to the waitress that maybe parties of 2 be put in one room and larger parties that may be loud and obnoxious should be put together in yet another room. We were informed that a large party was in a different room and management was working that party. We shared with the waitress that we had not seen anyone from management even circulate through the room we were seated in. Within 3 minutes an angry female arrived at our table. She informed us she was an owner, the acoustics in the room were bad and basically it was our problem and not hers. Anyone making a reservation was seated in that room. She had no time for us which was fine. We too have choices and Brix will no longer be in our rotation. The white pizza and charcuterie board were less than average. The wine was great! Considering the attitude of the owner We hope she was just having a bad night. Shocked that an owner would have the attitude as such. read more

This is the go-to nice restaurant for my wife and me. It is not the fanciest place to eat in Houston by any means, but it is better than most places that offer steak and wine. They do have a vast selection of wine, cocktails, and other alcohol-based beverages at prices you would (and should) expect. The food is consistently good, especially the steaks. The spinach dip is excellent, a little salty, but worth it. I would have given them a five-star rating, but I believe their sides could be a little better in quality and more options would be nice. Whenever I'm in the Vintage I visit Brix, especially for happy hour. They have a great selection of wine on HH for $5, you can't beat that. Im not a big beer drinker but my husband usually gets the hefenweinzen. They have a FANTASTIC burger and the truffle fries are the best I've had nom nom nom lol. This place made me feel cozy. It was a rainy and cold Friday night. Our first couples night away from our baby in months. It was 10 pm and they close at 10:30, which I saw on the door. I walked in and said, oh you close at 10:30? We'll just go. The woman who greeted us said, it's not 10:30.....come in, sit. I loved that she persuaded us to stay. It was relaxing, and comfortable inside. I loved that they had all of their wine on a ipad menu. You could peruse the list and add things to your "Consideration" list and then go back and look at the differences between them. Our server was helpful and knowledgable. We ordered the cheese plate and she helped us pick out which ones were the best. I highly recommend the drunken goat cheese. I normally don't love goat cheese but it was firmer than most and perfect. It went perfectly with the bottle of red blend we chose. We stayed until 11 without ever so much as a word from anyone about us needing to leave. The ambiance in here is adorable. I loved all the arch ways, lighting, and brick patterns. This is a definite go-to place for me now. I can't wait until it gets warmer out so I can sit out on the great patio. read more

Great wine bar in Vintage Park and a great happy hour choice with their outdoor seating, $5 glasses of wine, and half off draft beers. The food is surprisingly delicious here: the slider is gourmet, hummus is yummy but never comes with enough bread, the pizza is a good deal, and you can never go wrong with a cheese plate. The truffle mac and cheese is not on happy hour but it is one of the best mac and cheese dishes I've ever had, highly recommend it! They get pretty packed on weekends (especially for a table outside), the staff isn't always the most knowledgeable but they're very attentive, and I can't write a full review without saying this: the owner is a little too pretentious for a dude who owns a wine bar in the suburbs. read more

The woman owner told the host not to seat us as she was holding tables for her friends...she said this right in front of us then just smirked. I have spent a lot of money in Brix since the day it opened and was planning to again...now I will NEVER go back. I had the loveliest night with friends at BRIX Wine Cellars last night. The ambience was wonderful, very classic winery--my friend even commented that he felt like he was in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" which I thought was both funny and slightly accurate (in a good way!) The wine flights are awesome, especially because they give you selections like a Cabernet flight, Italian wine flight, favorites flight, etc. so you don't have to go through a long list to select 3 different wines. I had the Italian flight and it was really good--two of my coworkers who had the Pinot Noir flight and Malbec flight were raving. The food was incredible too. We had the brussels sprouts, cheese platter, and shrimp appetizer and all were amazing. I had the macaroni and cheese side for my main meal and it was really really good--had a lot of bread crumbs that were great with all the cheese. Friday night on the patio with a great friend. Wine Flights, several drinks on happy hour, and a few food specials. My friend had a pinot flight and I had a malbec flight. We shared the cheese plate and meat plate. The cheese plate was great lots of good choices! Meat plate was below average and would not get again. Both the cheese and meat plate only came with bread no crackers, which I thought was strange. We also got a great Cider on draft (on happy hour). The waitress was able to talk us into trying some truffle fries and a desert. I looked at the main menu and it had some interesting things. I would like to go back and try somethings. This place wasn't at all what I was expecting. The wine selection is decent and the prices are what you'd expect (around $20 for a flight). But the atmosphere reminded me of a noisy pizza parlor. I feel like they need to dim the lights or something. I seriously was squinting when I walked in. Our service was .... eh. Our guy had a serious attitude. And that doesn't fly too well with me or my hubby, who used to be in the wine business and knows a thing or ten about wine. Also, he dropped off our flight and then disappeared. Didn't see him again until we asked for our bill. This place really packs it in on weekend nights and that's not surprising, seeing as how the choices are really limited in Cypress. We walked into BRIX around 7:30 PM on Saturday night. They had a good number of patrons but I wouldn't say they were packed. We were promptly seated and given menus. Our waiter came by and introduced himself and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. About 20-25 minutes later he came back and took our drink and appetizer orders. We ordered the Hummus and Shrimp Scampi Brushcetta. The Hummus was really nice. The Shrimp Scampi had way too much butter for my taste but everyone else loved it. The appetizer arrived quickly but we didn't get our drinks until we reminded our waiter. After about 20 minutes the waiter came back out to tell us that they ran out of the cheese for their grilled cheese sandwich. It took another 30 minutes to get our main courses. I had the Carne pizza which was really amazing. By the time we received our main course it was 9:00 PM. We tried to be positive since the waiter was very busy and working both the BRIX and BRIXOLOGY locations. They may have just been understaffed this day. We came on a Saturday night around 8 and the patio was full and the band was playing at this Vintage Park wine bar. Their selection of wines were extensive with all ranges of price by the bottle which we should be able to expect for this neighborhood place. By the glass was about average but we were treated to the inconsistencies of the short pour. When will I ever learn? The food menu is kind of odd. You either go gourmet burger or one of about 4-5 other dishes. We decided to split the pasta and the portion was smallish and way over salted. The waiter asked and we told him, so he was happy to grab something else for us. The flounder ($18) was very flavorful and all the other tender goodies on the plate were too. The creme brulee ($8) was rich and creamy and a good end to the dinner. The thing that stands out about this place is the vibe/environment and the people that come in. The interior really does give the cellar feel. Whether you sit at the bar or a table inside or out, its a great place to people watch and enjoy your company without shouting at one another. Looking forward to coming again but think I will go straight for the bottle and skip the grub. read more

Wife got a wine flight I found a beer I liked, I'm not an IPA guy so I was happy that they had a beer that I liked. Cool place, I think this is a perfect double date place when your with your fancy friends or when your trying to impress your date with the fact you can be fancy too. I really like the fact that it is fancy but I don't feel like I would have to wear a jacket to hang out here. For sure not a tee shirt and jeans place but not a you better be in a suit or else either. Fancy but approachable, not the head tilt so far back all you see is the guys neck. I like places like this for something different. This is not going to become a go to spot for me but, I will be back when we are looking for something different. This place has a really nice Happy Hour with lots of choices that are very good for the price. The Truffle Fries are very good as well as the Shrimp Scampi Bruschetta ! The latter came with lots of garlic butter sauce & they offered to give us more bread for dipping which was great ! We also had the Mango Shrimp, Sliders and Pizzas. They have a large comfortable Patio with lots of great people watching. We had a large group of 8 ladies and our service was great. I definitely want to come back for Dinner. read more

Wife and I went to Brix for the first time last night. We were expecting to be sat outside, and were pleasantly surprised at how nice the inside was when we were sat in the newly-expanded area they purchased from the previous tapas restaurant that closed. The waitress was very nice and knowledgable of the menu and wines. My wife ordered a featured wine flight and I tried a beer flight. Both were very good and interesting. We ordered the White Pizza and the Brix burger. The burger was very big, my wife and I split it. The blue cheese and Carmelites onions took it over the top. The burger itself was cooked perfectly. The truffle fries it came with were great. We were only able to have one slice of the pizza since we were full after splitting the burger, but it was great as well. Shrimp arugula and two kinds of cheeses was very different, but it was really good. The dough/crust were perfect. Overall we had a very good experience, I think this would have been a five star review if the prices were lower. I am actually not complaining about the pricing, because it is justified. I just don't think this can be a regular spot to visit because you probably won't leave a dinner for two without spending $80-100. read more

We have stopped in for a glass of wine after dinner but finally realized that Brix was a dinner destination too. Service is good and servers are knowledgeable. Oh, I likey me some Brix. I've been here several times and I've never been disappointed with service or food or wine or beer - or cigar! We've only been here on weekend evenings and sometimes there is live music playing in the courtyard right there in front of Brix. Now, we've always dined outside even though they do have inside seating. We've been inside to use the restrooms and the inside looks very nice. And the restrooms are nicer than Bucees! Yes, hard to believe I know. I like the live music in the courtyard. Sometimes Jazz, sometimes pop, sometimes oldies. Something for everyone. Heard some Marvin Gaye - What's Going On, and Earth Wind and Fire - September! Yeah baby. It wasn't Marvin or EWF there actually, rather some guy pretending to be them. Very enjoyable. I've been most impressed with the wait staff. We often times have questions about the wines and the waiters/waitresses seem to possess the knowledge one would come to expect in a sommelier, not a waiter. Nice touch. We've also had questions about cheeses and they know their cheeses too. I consider the menu to be quite extensive and varied for a wine bar. This is more than just "bar food." The only knock I really have is some of their prices seem a tad high. Not outrageous, but a little high for some of the menu items. I suspect rent in Vintage Park ain't cheap. We like Brix and it's our go-to wine bar. read more
