Once in a blue moon, my husband picks me up from work and takes me to lunch. We decided on Broad St Burger. I had ordered takeout with work colleagues before, and it was always good. I enjoy burgers, but the year is still new and I'm still making an effort to try to eat healthier. So I tried The Classic American burger in a bowl - all the toppings, no bread! It was a guilt-free, satisfying meal. My husband ordered the Smoked Gouda Truffle Fries from the appetizer menu. They were more than enough for a meal. He let me have one (or two) and we agreed we've never had anything like that french fried deliciousness. The service was friendly and efficient. We saw at least 4 couriers (DoorDash, Uber, etc) come in & no one had to wait. We'll be back! read more

The food is ok, nothing to get overly excited about. But the service, wow that is what really brings this place down. Obviously if you are a regular, then you are well taken care of. If not then good luck. The guy at the end of the bar was being constantly attended to and even kissed by the bartender/waitress. Traveling from Raleigh to Asheville on New Year's Eve found us stopping at BSB for an evening meal. What a great stop! Solid 3 stars. The food was good but I've had better especially at this price point. The fries were overly seasoned and salty. I could barely eat them. The burger was good but the patties are thin. The bread to meat ratio was off. There's some serious cost cutting going on. The spouse enjoyed the hot dog. The meat to bread ratio was better with this item. The service was great. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The place feels like a pub. The music a little loud and the place smells like dirty mop water. Make sure you sit at the bar or near the front if you have a sensitive nose (like myself). I doubt I'll be coming back but if you're looking for a solid option in the area? This is a neat little burger place/bar. Very clean, but worn in a comfy way. There is an upstairs, but I still haven't been up there yet. The workers here are super friendly and helpful. We've tried a variety of things, and they've all been good. Wings, wrap, beef burger and turkey burger have all been cooked well, and quite tasty. Portions are just right too. What we really enjoy is a very large selection of tap and canned/bottled North Carolina craft beers. Priced reasonably and delicious. We've been surprised at how many breweries are here. While visiting our son, he recommended this place. So we checked it out. The food was delicious. It may not have been over-the-top or something Super Duper that made my mouth feel like it was walking on water or something, but it was really good. It is a place I would recommend for the food. The setting and ambience of the place was just comfortable for our setting in for our meeting. While we were checking out the place, we were also meeting a friend who lives in North Carolina. It was a great place to meet her and enjoy a good meal. The service is what I would like to talk about. I have Celiac disease and need to be kind of catered to when it comes to how they cook and prepare my meal. The wait staff went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Given the name of the restaurant, my expectations were rather high for the burgers. They were good, but not great. The flavor of the burgers were good, but I found them to be rather small - thinner, but not a smash burger. The fries were legit though. I found the Cole slaw to have an odd flavor - definitely not good. Our waitress was attentive and the food came out quickly. The restaurant was nice - we sat upstairs. Welp, I called on 3/26/22 and asked Joselyn--the friendly young lady that answered the phone what are these "many" options. She was unsure so she placed me on hold to inquire... And so I waited..and waited...and waited...3:59 seconds later she returned and said they have NO BEEF Burgers...when I asked what that was she said TURKEY AND CHICKEN on a burger INSTEAD of beef! (Since Yelp doesn't allow emojis to be used--insert a "You have got to be kidding me" emoji here). I explained that vegetarians don't eat TURKEY OR CHICKEN, because they too, are meat. I stopped in while staying in downtown, and it was really delicious. I got the Bubba burger, also known as a Carolina burger, and fries. This restaurant also has an excellent selection of craft beer on tap. I enjoyed the Sycamore Blonde Ale with my lunch. There is a large selection of sandwiches, and you can substitute the burger for grilled or fried chicken or a black bean burger. I would definitely come back here again. The cheese curds were amazing!! The Sexy Summer salad was yummy, however, for my taste, I would go with a different dressing next time. Blueberry Vinegarette was the standard on the salad but too much blueberry for me. The salad was fresh though and generous on the goat cheese. Not really what I'd consider "share size"with adults, which is fine. Just perfect for me! My husband got the goat burger cooked medium well. It was dry and rather small.
