I dropped off a few garments for dry cleaning and because they also offer tailoring services they were able to repair a frayed cloth belt that got caught in my bike. They offer a discount if you pay during drop-off which I love. Everyone is very friendly, address me by name and get me out in less than two minutes. Broad Street Cleaners will be my go-to as long as I live in Philly. I brought several of my boyfriend's Army uniforms to be cleaned and pressed. This is the first cleaners that I've been to that offers military pressing, and their pricing is really reasonable. Dita assisted me when I dropped of the uniforms, and she was very friendly. When I went to pick them up, there was a line of people waiting and two people were being assisted at the counter. Even as the line grew, no one at the counter was rushing the customers that were being assisted. I believe there was a misunderstanding when I asked about the difference between the standard press and the military press, and creases were actually put into the front of his work and dress uniform jackets. Unfortunately, he cannot wear them this way, but Dita offered to have them corrected, free of cost. The pants and shirt came out perfectly. I have lived in Philadelphia twice, and one of the things that I miss every time I've moved away is Broad Street Cleaners. The family who owns this place is so friendly, so helpful, and always willing to work with my timeline. A note for people who have shirts laundered and pressed: I have never been able to find a place - at any price point - that does shirts as well as Broad Street Cleaners does. It's picky, but so many places put shirts on hangers such that a crease forms on one side of the shirt from being slightly folded over. Didn't happen once at Broad Street. Their pickup and delivery is totally flexible and made my life so easy. These folks might be the best dry cleaners in America. Take your clothes here! read more

I have a special relationship in which this business will pick up and deliver cleaning from my concierge in my apartment complex, so that colors my experiences. So far I have had only good experiences with the business, they don't seem to be cheap, they follow my instructions, shirts appear to be well-treated. I have not been their customer for that long (only one year) so I can't comment on their overall wear and tear on my shirts, though I can say they do everything in-house, which is important if you want your custom shirts to survive. I have only ever used this dry cleaner twice (I guess I don't have that much fancy stuff) but both experiences were worthy of 5 stars! The first time was to have a blazer, a suit, and two dress shirts cleaned and starched for my now husband to wear during our wedding festivities. The woman at the front desk could not have been more polite and the job was done on time and he looked like a million bucks. An added bonus is that the process is eco-friendly, and the price was reasonable! Double yes! That experience brought me back this weekend. On Thursday night my husband casualllllly mentioned that the event we were going to on Saturday was black tie. Talk about pushing my panic button! I knew I had the perfect red dress for the occasion--but the trouble was, it still had the remnants of the last time I wore it all over it (aka one too many glasses of champagne). I dropped it off on Friday morning with a hope and a prayer. They told me that the stains miiiiiight be too bad to get out in time--but they would do their best. My instruction was to call on Saturday at 4:30 (they close at 5...event is at 6). Close but doable! Needless to say if you saw a lady with a wet head and a house coat rushing down Tasker Street at 4:31pm that was me on my way to pick up my dress...! When we moved from the suburbs to the city, my one concern was replacing a drycleaner and tailor I had used for 25 years. My husband saw Broad Street Cleaners within the first week, went inside and uncharacteristically interviewed the owners. He was impressed and when he came home he told me he found a replacement. When I brought my first bundle of dirty clothing, the lovely owner knew who I was, where I had been, and that they had large drycleaning shoes to fill. It also was clear BSC was ready for the challenge. At this point, they have been cleaning my regular clothing for two years and they have done sewing repairs and alterations on numerous pieces I have purchased or reinvented. They have never given me something back that was not perfectly done. But, in addition to my regular work clothes, I have dumped on them (and gotten back equally well done): two hefty bags of my adult son's very dirty, never cleaned before but well worn, suits and tuxes; a large wool blanket someone gave to me after it outgrew their use; a rug I found laying in front of my house; a coat that the neighbor's cat peed on; a Evan Piccone winter full length coat that my daughter's friend covered with patches advertising cheap cigarettes; a ball gown that I spilled nail oil on, yes, on the way to the ball -- you get the idea. The owner, who continued from the first day until now, to refer to me by my surname knows all the stories behind those items. She remembers what I brought and when I need it finished She is so pleasant I enjoy actually talking to her about my dirty laundry. Enough said about that. The only bad part for me is the location. I tried parking on the side street until I got a parking ticket and figured out that the bus lane is a bus lane. Now, I just park in the center of Broad Street. I recently moved to this neighborhood and was excited to be so close in proximity to a new dry cleaners, especially when I clumsily poured mulled wine all over my absolute favorite tan trench coat... I brought it here though and the owner was an absolute gem about it, and within a week they had my jacket better than it was before the stain had even happened! So, when about two weeks after the first incident, my trench got covered in hot chocolate from a very brake-crazy cab driver... I was definitely embarrassed to go back to the cleaners, but knew they would do a great job again. So reluctantly, I handed over my favorite jacket to the owner who remembered me immediately and laughed with me over the whole situation. Went to have my Faux leather coat cleaned after an incident with a feline, dropped coat off, they said they couldn't dry clean because of material but would get the coat clean, $25 prepaid. So a week goes by, I called them and asked for an update, the guy said " we can't dry-clean it, I said I know, and brought up the conversation we had at the counter. He asked the woman I originally spoke with in person and said " ok, it will be done on thursday, which is another week away! Well finally the coat was cleaned, and in good shape, but the wait and poor communication was a problem. read more

After paying and getting my clothes, the guy behind the counter told me i could hangout in the store until the rain slowed a bit.
