I rarely use the dry cleaners as I hand wash all of my clothes-- but recently when I moved back to Philly I brought a few of my more expensive pieces I wasn't confident doing myself, and they were great. Reasonably priced, quick turnaround, great turnout, and friendly staff. Also, as they are right in my neighborhood I love that before I even walk in the door they know who I am without asking and the belt is already going. I just dropped my first dress off today for alterations which Will be ready in less then a week and I doubt they will do anything but a good job. All in all, highly recommend. read more

I am a new customer and will update as my experience goes along, but so far, I believe this is an outstanding business and am driving well out of my way to go here. They did a wonderful job on our clothes, have good customer service, and use less harsh chemicals than other dry cleaners. I have been searching for a dry cleaner that does not use so many carcinogens. Every cleaner I called in Philadelphia near Center City that has a "green" or "organic" sign or advertising could not tell me what makes it green or organic. They simply said, "We are organic." Nu Way on the other hand does not advertise that they are eco friendly, yet they have the most green practices of any dry cleaner I have found in Philadelphia. The owner took time to talk to me on the phone giving me lots of detailed information about their dry cleaning process. He clearly has investigated many supposedly eco friendly options and gave me good information about why he chose the process they use. Being the geek that I am, I also looked up a lot of what he told me, and verified that the guy knows what he is talking about. I like that they do all the cleaning in-house rather than sending it out. One item they cleaned was a coat that had gotten sprayed with mustard (thank you teenage pranksters!) The coat looked new. I noticed one spot they missed - which is totally understandable given how much mustard was on this coat. They were super kind about it and removed the spot in a few minutes while I waited. You don't get that at a drop off cleaner that outsources. The rest of our clothing looked great too. Nothing sacrificed here by their green process. They especially do a great job of pressing. Other reviews say they are cash only, but I think I used a credit card. read more

I Took a medical girdle Doctor ask me to adjust after a liposuction, they said they know how to adjust it and marked it, I paid in advance and they made me wait for 3 days. Well when we go it I was so shock! they did it so wrong and damaged my $200 girdle! I'll gave them the chance to corrected the damage but they just were so abrasive specially the Chinese lady who was very impolite and at the end they didn't respond for their damage. I was excited to have a dry cleaner right across from where we bought our new house, since I dry clean a lot of my clothes. Unfortunately, they ruined a regular button up shirt of mine on my first drop off, and they refused to do anything about their mistake. I'll have to find another dry cleaner. I've been taking my dress shirts and pants here for about a year. The staff is always friendly and the prices are good. A parking lot is also a luxury in south Philly for pick up and drop off. Just keep in mind they typically take two days to compete orders, I think they do overnight for an additional charge. read more

I went to this place to get my clothes dry clean three times. Each time I brought over 150 to 200 shirts and suits to dry clean. I never check on my shirts and suits after I got it from NuWay. All of my shirts, pants, blazer and blouses are brand name clothes such as Givenchy, Dsquared2, Karen Miller, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, etc. A few weeks a go I took one of my shirt out to wear, I found out that it shrinks so bad that I couldn't wear them. I mentioned this to the owner of the store that they washed my shirt instead of dry clean and it caused the sleeves shrink 2 inches above my wrist. The owner does nothing about it and I told him I will bring it in for him to see it next time. Today I took another white shirt out from the last time I brought to NuWay to dry cleaned, the bottom hem of the shirt totally tore apart due to someone put it in the washer and dryer. The shirt shrinks so bad that I couldn't even tug into my pants. I told the NuWay owner about this and he blamed that my shirt was old. If it was old, I would never spend money to have it dry clean. I checked on all of my white shirts, all them also shrinks. The color one didn't, I guess they dry clean the color shirt but got lazy and wash the white one instead of dry clean them. One of my blouses was an ivory white, when I get then back from NuWay, the blouses was dull, yellow throughout and stain on the front and back. The blouses look like it was 100 years old blouses. It seems like they wash my blouses with other clothes and the other clothes stained my blouses. I never write review on anything and this is my first time doing this because I want everybody to be ware not go to this place. The owner was a white baldhead man, not only he didn't admit that his worker ruin my shirts, but he also made me feel like I wear old clothes and that I am there to make money on him. I will never go to this place again and I make sure I will tell that to all my friends and people I know so that it will not happen to them. read more

I took my 2 year old daughters dress there for a special occasion to be hemmed. I prepaid for the service picked it up and never tried the dress on her till the day of (because she is 2 lol) when dressing her to go I noticed the dresssd was ruined. The dress was so short in the back u could see her underwear and the front was fine. I couldn't let her wear it!! I returned to the store to get no sympathy or apology. She agreed it was wrong. She first blamed it on the way it was pressed. She took it in the back and tried that then returned and blamed it on the manufacturer saying it was uneven to begin with. Never hear of a child's dress being shorter in the back or anyone's for that matter. The dress was perfect with tags when I brought it in. They offered to fix it and we agreed it would be even when I picked it up. A week later it's even worse still no apology no refund just rudeness. Now I'm out the money for the dress I paid for alterations and I had nothing for her to wear to her event. I would never recommend this cleaners to anyone. Use at your own risk. Everyone makes mistakes but an apology would be nice. read more

I have been using this cleaners for 6 yrs. and had no problems until this guy started working there. He was very rude..he says they dont do small alterations anymore. I thought this was the purpose of bringing you clothes to the cleaners. No matter what type of alterations you need you should be serviced whether its big or small. And if i have been a loyal customer for yrs. it shouldn't matter. Everytime i go there he complains about the garments i bring. But yet i've been going there for 6yrs. with no complaints. The way this guy reacted to my questions about my dry cleaning makes me think that he does DRUGS or something because he was very aggressive! Good customer services means that the customer should be able to ask questions....they are the experts which is why we go to them..RIGHT! I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE TO THEM AGAIN. read more

I paid over $60 to get a suede jacket cleaned and have minor seam repairs done around a pocket. They took over a month to get the jacket back to me. It looked fine (not great...there were still darkish spots by the sleeves, but I don't blame them for this.) More disappointing was the quality of the repairs done. Stitching needed to be done by hand, looked no better than I could have done at home for the price of a leather needle. Furthermore, the part of the seam that extended into the pocket had not been touched, and I could still stick my finger through the jacket. I know they send their leather to another professional, but as I was not given the name of the sub-contractor, I am posting this review to NU-Way. Maybe they do a fine job with the cleaning and sewing they do on-site, as it seems from reading other reviews, but I won't go back to find out and I certainly would not recommend that anyone trust them with their leather. read more
