Everyone there had a team mentality, where all of the workers knew each other and their duties, but most importantly they were willing to help in the best way that they could. I could tell that they really care about the instruments.

I recently had my Roland Stage synth worked on by Bob who is the owner and Tech for TSR . Since the man who use to work on my Hammond and Leslie set ups and my synths for over 20 years passed away within the past 2 years I have been in limbo trying to find someone with the knowledge and capability to fix whatever i would need fixing with my equipment . I called TSR and talked to Bob who is down to earth and a stellar musician himself playing keyboards . When I dropped off my Roland Stage it was so distorted that every voice from the piano to the strings were awful to listen to . Within a few weeks I called Bob and it was ready for pickup and the problem was solved and not a miner problem either. Just getting to the repair was a feat in itself , layers of boards had to be taken off to get to the issue . I also could not believe the fair price Bob charged me and in the world of musical repair it was shocking how fair Bob is . I have now dropped off a Peavey CS1000 power amp that was said to be not worth fixing as it would be to much money for labor . It is now ready for the studio again all fixed . I now have my Roland Juno 6 Synth at TSR being cleaned up so I can hit the stage with it again . It's in amazing near excellent shape and just needs a bit of TLC under the hood. My next keyboard after the Juno 6 to be at TSR will be the very first 1966 Doric compact organ my parents bought me when I was playing Frat houses at 14. The bottom line is this ,,,would I ever take these fantastic Keyboards and Organs to someone learning the trade ,,,Heck no,,,I usually do not write reviews because folks usually have their own opinions anyway , but if anyone is in need of equipment repair weather it be keyboards , speakers or amps do yourself a favor and call Bob at TSR You will be as happy as I am I'm sure . I recently hired John from True Tuner Piano Service to move my piano. I had called for an…read moreestimate, and he asked me detailed questions, such as the height of the piano, how many steps were involved, as well as the type of flooring in order to give me an accurate estimate. He offered an extremely reasonable quote for the move, and was able to make an appointment for a few days later. He kept in contact the entire time, followed up to confirm the appointment, and arrived on time. He arrived with a very muscular partner that possessed a good sense of humor. They proceeded to take apart some pieces of the piano (which was a surprise), but it was to protect the fragile parts from potential damage during the move. The piano was well protected with careful and strategic placement of pads throughout the way, and it was never in danger of being damaged. They arrived to the destination, reassembled the piano, and did not deviate from the quoted price. Extremely professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous - apparently John has been in the piano business for 30 years and is quite the expert. Kudos for a job well done!

I took my P4DC Takamine to David to have the action lowered (typical of Takamine from what I've…read moreheard). Having a lot of money already wrapped up in my guitar, I was a little hesitant to have the kind of work done that was necessary to reach my goal. He explained how he would have to remove about .095" of material from the saddle without having to adjust the neck (which he explained would not lower the action across the entire fret board). This made me nervous because the 2,000 dollar guitar was going to be modified forever. He has an Erlewine Neck Jig with a line of precision dial indicators for measuring neck deflection, and measuring tools to gauge the action. He explained the purpose of the tool to alleviate any apprehension I had about modifying my guitar. In the end, he lowered the action perfectly, and did a small adjustment on the truss rod so that the action was the same across the board. The end result was perfect. I have a friend who plays professionally who played it and said it was one of the smoothest and most playable guitars he ever enjoyed. Dave also set up my Gretsch 6120 and restrung it with flatwound strings and again, perfect. He is ultra-careful with the instruments brought into his shop. I highly recommend Dave if you are looking for a quality luthier in the Binghamton area. He is top shelf and his pricing is very reasonable. Ric Chrysler

We rented a microphone for a memorial service and needed the most basic mic. After the staff…read morerealized we didn't know a ton about musical equipment they became condescending and it felt like they spoke down to us. After making several trips we ended up having the buy accessories from them in addition to renting the mic to make it work. They made it clear they only want to work with professional musicians. It's difficult when you're already grieving to ask for help and be treated like you're a burden. I grew up in Fall Creek and always the thought Hickeys was a kind, local business. That's why we asked for their help and expertise, so I'm sad we couldn't have had a better experience.
