I'd give it 0 stars if that were an option. I called and made an appointment to have a new tire placed on my 2019 sedan. I came with a brand new tire purchased from the tire rack  to replace my front right tire, I was informed that it would be $ 32.50 for the mechanic to put the new tire on the right front side. I also asked about prices for tire rotation as I thought, since I am getting the front tire replaced anyway on the right side, I about rotating the left side and I was informed that it would be 17.50 which is half of the cost for the rotation.  Lastly I needed a plug in my left rear tire-, I wsa told no problem they would repair the tire as well.  All was great, I made a plan to drop the car off and was in no particular rush to get it back. The following day, I called in the afternoon, paid over the phone and arranged a ride to pick the car up later that night.  When I picked up the car the following evening, when I got home I reviewed my bill. I noticed that I was charged the $32.50 for putting the new tire on the right front that I purchased from the tire rack, which is okay/- however then I was charged an additional $17.50 for "Tire rotation" on the "right side"- I was like huh? This has to be a mistake...and if it is not that would mean that the mechanic, removed the bad tire on the front right side and than replaced the tire with the new one I brought and than remounted the new tire on the front right side $32.50, than took it off again to rotate the front and back tire on the same side thus causing a need to charge another $17.50 for the SAME side? I thought, this cant be- not in the same transaction? I could totally see if I brought the car there had the tire put on, paid the 32.50 came home and decided a week later I wanted the tires rotated- which would then cost me an additionally 17.50  to do so -totally understandable but two charges, for the same side in the same transaction- again I thought this has to be a mistake. Maybe they rotated the left side and this is an error in the paperwork- so I will call and find out. Prior to calling, I also noticed that the left side was not rotated as the tire that was plugged was still on the left rear, where it was originally prior to having the tire repaired I thought, okay this has got to be an error in the charge than- let me call and find out.  Sure enough I called and explained the situation and asked specifically about the left side rotation as that was originally what I asked for when I first made the appointment- as I was already replacing the right front tire with a brand new tire. I was informed that it is not in my best interest to have a tire that is plugged on the front so he did not rotate that side. very similar to how I am explaining it now and well- I was told that the bill is correct and that he rotated the right side so he charged me for it-  despite me pointing out what I was told in my original phone call.  At the end of the day 17.50 it's not the end of the world- but it's disheartening to have pay $17.50 for rotation of the right side that I did not even request in my original conversation to make an appointment which was to have a new tire (that I would bring) put on, to have one tire plugged and one side rotated. But what is even more of a disgrace is that I was charged essentially for the same service through two different avenues in the same transaction. I am in the middle of requesting a refund with this company to further address this issue if the company makes good on this, I will certainly update this review as I only aim to provide an accurate reflection of my experience. read more

I have been bringing my car here for five years. It started as convenience but it is all about trust now. I know nothing about cars and Sandra has had several conversations about how to prioritize our car maintenance with the safety of my kids in mind. They are always understanding that I often need to save up for basic maintenance. There was even a Friday evening they stayed open late to help me with a battery issue. I scheduled an oil change and the business seemed very good. I was there about 10 minutes early and there were two people at the front and neither one of them addressed me. The one gal was on the telephone got finished and just kept shuffling papers and playing with stuff and the other gentleman was just standing there doing whatever he was doing. I'm not even sure. In any event I stood there for about a minute to a minute and a half totally unnoticed. I'm not sure how that could happen because I'm not the smallest person in the world. In any event I turned around and walked out and no one even said excuse me sir I'm sorry how can we help you. I would have given them no stars but I had to give a star. This is my favorite auto repair shop. I feel like I have been looking for a place like this forever. They just moved from the corner of Clinton and Broadway in downtown Albany to about 1 mile north in Menands. They are now at the corner of Wolfert Ave and Broadway behind Stewart's. If you work in dowtown though, the run a shuttle bus between their shop and downtown business district, so you can easily drop you car off during the weekday. Their new location has a regular repair bays, a quick lube, a car wash, and a comfortable waiting room. They have a dog wash too. As a woman I feel like I've been lied to and patronized at many a repair shop. Not so at the B'way Auto Clinic. I feel as though they have gone out of their way to make their shop more inviting to those of us, like me, who are anxious about the car repair experience. For example, last time I got my oil changed the mechanic came into the waiting room with my dirty air filter to ask me if I would also like to replace it. He explained how often they should be replaced and how much it cost. He also asked me what kind of oil I wanted (synthetic/non-synthetic) and kindly (in a non-condescending way) explained why I might want one kind over the other. The owners (a husband and wife team) are there every time I've been. All of the emplyees are friendly and respectful. Their's is the kind of business I love to support. read more

I've had numerous things done at this shop... Brakes, wheel bearings, catalytic converters. Their prices are sometimes higher than other shops but their work is top notch and worth the price for the piece of mind. They also specialize in audis and VW which was my first reason to go to them The owners work in the shop everyday and are seem to genuinely care about what goes on. They warranty their work and seem to be an honest shop.... Something hard to come by these days and well deserving of praise. read more

(Audi B7 A4) I purchased a cold air intake and Milltek exhaust system from ECS tuning and the owner at broadway spearheaded the entire installation. They also installed a stage 1 APR tune. The price was less than I expected which was very refreshing coming from a mechanic shop. Very professional staff and the fact it's a family owned and operated business is a huge plus. The best customer service, best price! We have been using Warren Tire for years and they've always given us a special discount. I read some reviews for Broadway Auto Clinic online and saw they are a preffered tirerack.com installer, figured I'd give them a try. I emailed them for a quote and they beat the tirerack.com price AND the Warren Tire price with my company discount! We dropped the trucks off and I discovered the owners actually work there and manage customer service, it was great! I knew there were going to be 0 mistakes with my studded snow tires because the owners were right there, managing the staff. My trucks were back on the road within an hour of dropping them off and we have now just been thru the 5th snowiest February on record and my drivers are raving about the snow tires! They must be saving a ton of money with those solar panels to keep their prices so low! read more

Went here recently to deal with an alignment issue. Went to two places previously that failed to correct the problem. Thought I was going nuts but then brought it to the broadway auto clinic and they fixed it. Drives great now (and straight)! I've had my vehicle now for about four years, and it's about that time to look for something new and exciting to drive. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to miss my Audi, but it's time to move on! I've used Broadway Auto Clinic to maintain my car over the years, and they continue to deliver the best service. Their work is always quality at a great price, and this is why I'll end up getting top dollar on the value of my car because Broadway Auto has taken such good care of it. Some people get duped into thinking that somehow taking your luxury car to the dealership is the only way to get your car repaired, but this is the biggest scam in the industry as dealerships try to upsell you on unnecessary stuff, and hound you about trading in your car every time you visit. Rick and Sandra's business focuses on repairing what the car NEEDS, and nothing else. You can always expect that they are going to give you a straight up answer to your questions, and if you don't need the repair, they're going to tell you. Not worth it, they used to be near my work initially when I started with them. I was taking my car for more than 2 years with them and they broke the oil pan during one of the routine oil change service. I came to know about it when I went for a tire change at local walmart that there was some problem with my oil pan and it needs to be replaced. I talked to the owner and they didnot even bother to acknowledge that something like this could have happen at their location. I'm no longer taking my car to this place. Since they have moved to bigger place they have grown lot more greedy. They will not stand behind their work. read more

I've been a customer of Broadway for at least eight years. I can't say enough about how wonderful it is to walk in and not be treated like a woman who knows nothing about cars. I am a gear-head and was raised around cars all my life -- i know my stuff -- and from the first moment Rick and Sandra treated me with respect. I own an Audi and have had all my service done on it for most of it's non-warranty life at Broadway. I now have 150K miles on the car, it's APR stage I chipped, we upgraded the suspension, the smile on my face has never ceased. When i had issues with factory warranty parts... most recently a faulty airbag sensor ... rick when to bat for me with the local audi dealer/rep and got it taken care of, for free. They bring me to work, they pick me up, if you think their prices are unreasonable go ahead and go to walmart and have some inexperienced newbie tech torque some fastener beyond spec or forget to plug in something or use cheap parts. You get what you pay for folks and broadway in all my experience has been beyond reasonable in their pricing. I check everything against prices online and have never had a problem feeling gouged or even bringing in my own tuner parts for installation (danny is all stars on that front)! I've personally witnessed Rick and/or Sandra dozens of times talk customers out of repairs they did not need or figure out a way to make it something they could afford. I've never seen such integrity in an auto shop, EVER. I'm about to move on to a new vehicle, and Rick has even helped me figure out what would suit my driving style and wish list ... a car that i didn't even think of and saving me a ton of money! They service all cars but specialize in audi/vw and tuning. You dont' have to be an enthusiast to go here at all, but if you are, you will certainly like it. Broadway is all aces in my book. If you want to be taken care of, treated like family, and support a locally-owned business, broadway is your ticket. read more

Overall excellent service, communication, labor, and pricing. Some may complain that 90 an hour is high, but I would say this is about average if you want your work done properly and with care. I have been here various times, and each time had a great experience. I have to say there communication with their customers is impeccable. Customer service is EXCELLENT here - Rick and Sandra always make sure that you leave the shop happy. They've been taking great care of our VW's (my husband's Jetta and my Rabbit) ever since the cars came off warranty. Their shuttle service is prompt and efficient; they drop me off right outside of my work in downtown Albany. If I'm not leaving the car for the day and am waiting for it to be serviced, it's great to be at a mechanic where the waiting room is clean and spacious and there are plenty of magazines or TV to keep me entertained. Agree with Manny S. - absolutely outstanding customer service. I "inherited" a vehicle that sounded like the wheels were going to fall off when I first drove it. It was in bad shape. I was nervous driving it to the shop. Between Sandra and Scott, they put together a long list of things that were wrong with the car, and then helped me pick and choose which ones were important and/or urgent, and which items weren't really safety-related or necessary to address promptly. On top of all of that, they won big with their "courtesy shuttle," when Sandra gave me a ride to the train station in Rensselaer after I dropped off the car. I had been ready to shell out another $25 for a taxi, and it was just a really pleasant surprise and great talking with Sandra for ten or fifteen minutes. read more

This shop and its staff extended itself above and beyond what we ever could have imagined - and, on a holiday weekend, no less!  This past Friday afternoon, my car overheated as we headed upstate on 87. We really thought our much needed escape from the City would be ruined, as most shops had already closed. Triple A towed us to Broadway Auto at 1PM ( just as they were about to leave early for the long holiday weekend). My heart sank, fearing  our weekend was ruined as I figured that they would not have time to take care of us. Boy, was I wrong.  Despite delaying the start of their weekend, they made us feel welcome and told us that they would do everything to save OUR weekend!  They literally stopped everything to check out our car and fix our thermostat immediately. I've been taking my vehicle to Broadway Auto for years, but it is time to finally write a review. First the facilities are very clean and nice. There's a nice seating area with large screen TV and free Wi-Fi. But more importantly is the customer service and quality of work. Scott and Eve and Sandra at the front desk are extremely courteous and friendly. The courtesy shuttle is the best I've ever had. They drop you off and pick you up when you need it. They always performed good work on my car, even in its later years as all sorts of things started to die on it. They were even able to fix the random noise that inevitably would be quiet as soon as the car knew it was going into the shop (haha). They never jerked me around on what was wrong and didn't recommend things that didn't need replacing or rip me off with exorbitant prices. You get good work at a fair price, and that is a rarity these days. I will continue to bring my vehicles to Broadway Auto and would recommend them to anyone. read more

We drove in here with a flat tire on our truck. It was pure luck that we drove into this awesome establishment! The customer service was quick and friendly. Even though they had to get the tire from the warehouse, we were on our way in about an hour! This is a family owned business. The owner even gave us advice on places to stay and things to do in other cities. Very nice lady! The waiting room and restroom were also very clean. Too bad we don't live here or else we would be sending our business and friends' business their way! read more

Well this place does have very friendly and knowledgeable service. However, their prices are pretty high. $89/ hour for labor, almost $40 for an oil change, there is an over night parking fee and even a fee if they have to put your car on a lift. Very clean waiting room. read more

I went here to have my car inspected at the end of the May, and it failed due to the rear brakes being completely worn out. As all of my brakes and rotors had been replaced a year and a half before and my front brakes were still in good condition, I asked what could have caused the rear brakes to have worn out so quickly. They did not have an answer. An hour into the process of replacing the brakes the call me in to tell me that the need to replace my ebrake shoes as well, although they had passed the earlier inspection and had proven functional. They ripped them off in front of me, probably to make sure they wouldn't continue to work. I agree to fixing the brakes as I had no choice. One of the shop mechanics also alerted me to a small axle seal leak which he said would eventually need to be repaired, but was no immediate concern. ANOTHER hour later...the owner comes out and begins to tell me my axle seal needed to be repaired immediately before they could put on the brakes. Quite frustrated I refused this service, which they estimated at $220 and another 2 hours minimum, even after my car was already apart. 6 weeks later, my rear drivers side brake begins to smoke to the point I though the car was catching fire. I called Broadway and the owner insisted that it was my fault, that I must have been driving with the E-brake on. In fact, I hadn't touched the E-brake at all since it was repaired. Because as a woman I was getting nowhere with this rude man on the phone I put my brother-in-law on the phone, who explained the tensioners were tightened up for some reason. He didn't give them a reason why because he didnt know, he's not a licensed mechanic. I returned the car to Broadway and after 2 hours they had replaced the brake pads at no cost to me and informed me they were simply "defective." Less than two weeks after that, I experienced the smoking AGAIN. I took it in a third time, and it took them 4 hours to diagnose the problem and replace what was determined now to be a faulty caliper. They said they had went ahead replaced the pads the time based on what my brother in law had said-they didn't even look for a cause!! It has been several weeks and while I hadn't experienced any more smoking so far, I notice a HUGE change in the way my car stopped- it was WORSE! It felt like i had no brakes at all. I finally went elsewhere to have my brakes fixed CORRECTLY. With Broadway alone, I had invested over $650 in my rear brakes and experience more hours of frustration than anyone should have to undergo for a regular maintenance service. And all the while they blamed ME instead of looking for the real problem with my brakes, I'm guessing because I am a woman. This is ironic coming from a repair shop that claims itself woman-friendly. And one more thing- that axel seal that needed to be replaced "immediately" was later looked at and diagnosed by 2 other licensed mechanics as only a minor problem, which they themselves would not worry about fixing if it were their own cars. They offered to inspect it every couple of months (at no charge) when I come in for oil changes, just to make sure it does not get worse. Broadway Auto attempted to take advantage of me and scare me into buying services i did not need, spent more time making accusation instead of fixing my car, and then did a shoddy job on my brakes...They didn't even earn that once star in my book. read more

It's been about 2 weeks since I had APR Stage 2 ECU reflash and Magnaflow Competition Series 3" catback installed on my 2013 VW Golf R and I couldn't be more satisfied. The owner, Rick, is a great guy and definitely knows what he's doing. He'll advise you on which parts are worth it and which ones aren't. Saved me lots of $ and still made my car run and sound way better than stock. My R went from being merely quick to holy crap this car is fast in a matter of a couple hours. If you own a VAG car and want to improve its performance, I highly recommend Broadway Auto Clinic. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and good prices. I went in today to get my car inspected. I broke my ankle a week ago and was very worried about tackling this errand. I got there and everyone was super nice and more than helpful! Eve, the office manager, was incredible and shuttled me back to work and offered to pick me up as well. I even got a call in less than an hour that my car was ready. Wasn't pleased with this shop at all - tried to just get me to spend more money each time I came in. First off, let me say my car is in great shape, I keep up on the maintenance and very little needs to be done when I do go to a mechanic. I was new to the area at the time and knew I needed to replace one of my engine mounts. They had good reviews so I went to them, the whole time they kept just mentioning other things here and there that needed to be replaced. At first it was about the engine mounts, they said one was bad & the other one was on its way. So I decided to fix both- when I actually went in to get the service done they had switched which engine mount they had told me was broken and which one was tearing...for me that just made me worried. If they made the mistake of telling me which one was broken, how do I know they're fixing the right ones. Secondly, they tried telling me my tires were really bad & I needed to replace all four...my tires aren't even that old. I did at the time agree my front ones were low on tread at least for snowy conditions, but my back ones had another 15-20k left to go. So I started getting prices on tires and ordered 2 through Broadway, except when I went into get them done not only did the owner never order them but was trying to tell me I couldn't put the two I ordered on anyway because it didn't match my tread pattern. If that were the case why wouldn't you try & tell me that when I told you to order them? The tires I had on were performance and the ones I was getting were all season, the tread pattern was pretty similar so they were fine if I had both on until by back ones went to switch over to the same tire. Either way I didn't get my tires done with them, because they tried screwing me over way too much. Honestly, the shop looks nice but the people aren't worth the hassle. read more

Outstanding customer service! I stopped by to ask if I can have a state inspection done and was told that they were booked for the next five days. However, when I mentioned that I lived out of state and rarely drove to New York, Sandra and her husband found a way to squeeze me in during the lunch break. When it came to my car itself- they explained everything and did not pressure me into getting anything I did not need. Feeling like I can trust the mechanic is a big deal for me in selecting the right repair shop! I was told that my front left tire would not clear inspection because the tread was worn, cracking and had a large bubble. However although he then recommended I also replace the right front tire, which was in slightly better shape, but not great, he said that my car would pass inspection without it, so I did not have to get that done right then and there. Also, as an added bonus - this is one of the cleanest repair shops I've been to. They have a large waiting area with a TV and lots of magazines, so I didn't have to sit in a dingy room on a couch covered in auto grease while waiting for my car. If I did not live three hours away, I would have gladly have made this place my go to for regular maintenance and repairs. read more

I will never have too look for another mechanic I can trust!!! I recently had some work done on my muffler/exhaust system, being a female I went to the first muffler place I could find, and was in horror at the amount of money I was being told it would cost to fix my noisy muffler. I felt like something was incorrect so a friend refered my to Broadway and assured me if it was the case they would let me know. I shared none of the information from the "Muffler Place" and had my car checked. Where I was told it would cost me over $1000 to repair, I ended up paying less than $300. I know for a fact that they have the customers best interest at heart and not looking to take you to the cleaners. I recommend them for any problem I hear of at this point, and look forward to doing more business in the future when needed.
