I love this little book shop in my neighborhood. I can spend an hour just wandering around looking at all the treasures. They have a good range of classics (at a v affordable price) and newer reads. I'm updating my review because I decided to give them another chance. I'm going to chock my last review up to visiting them on a not so good day. The store was much cleaner and more organized this time and that makes a markedly big difference in my opinion. I could actually find what I was looking for and walked out with a couple of hard to find collectible hardcovers in nice condition for a fair price. The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful. I'll be sure to make Broadway Book Mall part of my regular stops now when making the book and coffee rounds. read more

This is a great used book shop. The gentleman who was working during my visit was very friendly and helpful and I found several books that I couldn't live without and at a good price :) I read in some of the other reviews that the shop is cluttered and messy which I suppose is true but I did not find off putting, it was rather charming and cozy, in my opinion, and I will certainly visit again soon. read more

This is easily one of the best used bookstores in Denver for science fiction. The science fiction and fantasy sections are well-curated with titles both classic and new. You don't have to paw through stacks of unwanted books to find something good - everything on the shelf is worth a look. You'll find dirt-cheap prices for high-quality paperback editions of classics, and reasonable prices for rare, author-signed editions. The rest of the store includes fiction, young adult, and a well sorted non-fiction section. The store is dog-friendly, and the staff is knowledgable and helpful. There are events scheduled for each month, and for whatever reason, there always seems to be free cookies, chocolates or other treats when I wander in. Best of all, I wanted to trade back a few books for a new read, and the staff was open and helpful to negotiating a trade. read more

The nice folks who run the place are absolutely lovely people who will help you find anything. But if you just want to look around on your own, the organization can be rather daunting. As far as I can tell, it's organized by consignor. (Please tell me if I'm wrong.) So if you're looking for a certain work of, say, fiction, you have to check three different places. I like a little idiosyncrasy in a used book store, so I won't hold it against them. If you're on a mission for something, just ask and the friendly staff will help you out. read more

I ran into this bookstore while looking for the Iron Wood, an art store in Broadway. Although it didn't stand out to me from the outside, aside from being a book store of course, I found it inviting on the inside. The people who work there are extremely sweet and personable, and are also pretty funny! When I sat down to read a book in the store, they didn't mind and even made a joke about it not being the library and not to worry. I felt comfortable there, no pressure. The store feels a bit scattered in some areas but is overall quite organized and their selection is amazing. It has the feel of a more aged bookshop but they have loads of new arrivals and sellers as well as older books. I didn't expect to see a graphic novel section in the store but they had one! They also had Murakami's newest novel right in the front, which was a super plus for me personally. Their prices were really good as well. They had a Virginia Woolf book for under $4, which I found amazing. If you're a reader, you won't be disappointed. read more

A while back, I was looking for a particular book. Of course Broadway Bookmall didn't have it (Their selection is questionable at best). However the nice lady working the counter said that the sellers have a lot more than is on display, and that if I left my contact information, she would check with them. I gave her my email and thanked her. I never did hear back about the book I was looking for, but a short time later, I started receiving every promotional email they sent out. It seems rather than actually do what she said, she added my email, without permission, to their mailing list. If anyone is wondering, they do NOT have an "unsubscribe" link. In fact, because it's not a site registration, There is NOTHING I can do on my end to end the emails. Despite reporting the emails as spam, they still slip through my filters from time to time. I have emailed them asking to be removed, without response. I will never set foot in their doors again and warn anyone else to steer clear of them also. They do not care about customer service or doing what they claim they will. They do what they want and "screw you if you dont like it". read more

One of my all-time favorite book stores in town. They have the best sci-fi selection of any book store I've been to, and their staff is very knowledgeable. I have had many a conversation with the owners about our favorite sci-fi writers and books, including a discussion on Dune. They're great for selling or trading your books, will give you store credit, and are very helpful in general. The book store is a little messy, but in a good eclectic way, and it is organized very well. I highly recommend going here if you love sci-fi, rare books, and classic literature! read more

This bookstore is Mt. Olympus for a bibliophile. Pure MAGIC. I've never walked out empty-handed, the selection of classics are endless. Expect to get lost in there for an hour or two, AND to find some gems. read more

This is my all-time favorite book store. There is an amazing selection and I never have to sift, I have to choose. It's insanely cramped and cluttered, but oddly not disorganized. This is a place to browse. The owners are terrific people and very helpful since they are well-read, kind, and know their shop so well.They have everything from affordable paperbacks all the way up to signed first editions for collectors. This is my favorite bookstore. Hands down, and my husband and I are very hooked on phonics. I normally never take the time to write reviews, but my experience here has been so "off-the-charts" amazing that I felt compelled to write this review. The owners are absolutely DELIGHTFUL! They are so friendly and knowledgeable. The place is so cozy and inviting. It feels like home and they treat you like family. So when my husband and I found out that we were moving and that we had to part with our beloved book collection - we took them to Broadway Book Mall first! It was such a great experience. They were so excited about each treasure that they uncovered in our collection. Both buying and selling books - you won't have a better experience anywhere. read more

The new Broadway Book Mall is the home of 10 sellers of new and used books from the soon-to-be-closed Denver Book Mall. Technically, they're not open for business yet, but Who Else! Books just hosted its first event at the new location, a talk and signing by Colorado SF authors James Van Pelt and Alastair Mayer. It's a nice space, and they even have parking. Once all of the booksellers are moved in and renovations are complete, it'll almost certainly deserve 5 stars. They're aiming for a "soft opening" in early- to mid-August, and will have their grand opening over Labor Day. read more

Literally the greatest used bookstore I have ever been to! Every time I go, I end up coming home with tons of books. They always have an exorbitant amount of popular best sellers, multiple copies of all the classics and so much in between! Also the prices are unbeatable! I've paid $1 for Fitzgerald and $25 for a first generation of my favorite book. Most books seem to range from $3-12, mix between paperback and hardcover. The owners (I think anyway, they have been there every time I have gone) are extremely sweet and very helpful in finding books, as well as recommending books (even newer ones they don't have!!). The organization of the store is a little bizarre (I think it is arranged by seller), but I've found which sellers I have similar taste to and tend to stick to those shelves. I didn't want to review the bookmall bc I didn't want to reveal this hidden gem, but it's so amazing they deserve some credit for their great work! read more

How much do I love this place! I've been coming here for a few years now and everyone has been very friendly and helpful. Usually you will come and see the owners chatting with locals or even local authors. If you are a sci-fi fan this IS the place to come to because the owners really know their stuff and they can give wonderful recommendations. Also...the shelves...and shelves of sci-fi! There is a great variety since there are different vendors within the bookstore. Oh, and make sure to join their mailing list so you are kept in the know when local authors come in to do a signing. I've seen Connie Willis there twice! By far the friendliest bookstore in the Baker area! read more
