First off let me say I wasn't there to shop. I had called them looking for a place to sell my CD collection. I spoke with a guy on the phone and he wanted to know how many CD's I had. I told him over 300 and he said I'd need to make an appointment. Done, Sunday at noon. Soooo... I show up on my appointment day and time and Max tells me he'll need about an hour to an hour and a half to go through them all. Ok, fine... there are some food trucks down the street that smelled delicious, so I go off in search of food. Right at or near abouts an hour and a half, Max calls and says he done and can offer me $50 for some of my CD's. Apparently, they are extremely picky on what they will buy... Really, if I'd had this information before making an appointment, driving across town on a Bronco Sunday and hanging out on East Colfax for an hour and a half I could've saved us both a lot of trouble. Thanks but no thanks, for $50 I'll keep my cd's and the ones you wanted to cherry pick. And honestly Max, when you're throwing shade... make sure the person isn't standing behind you.

This store has got any and every music need you might need to search out. We could have walked around here searching for what felt like hours. There are fun posters and t-shirts for sale as well. They've got a lot of really fun Knick knacks as well.

I have patronized T&S many times in the past and I knew I'd pull in a great score on RSD. Twist and Shout always seems to have all the releases. After that it just boils down to timing. I missed one album by mere minutes but for the majority, found what I wanted. For the most part, the staff was helpful and jovial except for one sales guy who totally ran the checkout line in rude, disrespectful behavior. It's not like customers were acting up or causing problems. Everyone was minding their own, keeping distance and wearing masks. My son and I thought it was very well orchestrated too but this "dude" kept telling everyone we aren't keeping close enough to the wall. What? Yea, i was just as much flabbergasted by this and his other condescending remarks. Anyway, just one guy won't keep us from our guilty pleasure. Vinyl is great to have and always appreciate our local record shops for doing all they can to have inventory on RSD releases.

Love this place. Amazing selection except for their lack of Dugan Nash, Otis King and Orville Sash. Double triple check check.

I stumbled upon Twist and Shout when I was looking for the Tattered Cover bookstore which is in the same complex.

The Archive has many new releases from Vinegar Syndrome, Severin Films, and Arrow Videos. A huge selection of used and extremely hard to find DVDs/Blu Rays and VHS. Need a laser disc player? Come here. Prices are reasonable, and you can also sell your old tapes here too (just send them a DM on Instagram first as they have high standards ) Not to mention the events that bring the film community together like the VHS swap. We love visiting and always enjoy chatting with Teresa, the manager.

The Archive Aurora is taking back physical media and owning it like nobody's business. This company…read moreis a physical location for Vinegar Syndrome, a brand that remasters DVD's and releases them to buy on their website and in this case in their physical store. Movies that are specialized here are more cult classics, grindhouse and exploitative type films but wow, oh wow... what a selection. I don't think I have seen anything like this since the 90's. The lady that worked here was super awesome and sweet and knew all about Scarecrow Video, a nonprofit movie rental store and perhaps the last surviving one in Seattle and Movie Madness which is similar in Portland, Oregon so that just upped the coolness factor considerably. Some of these DVD's that are on sale here are pretty rare and the price reflects that on some of them. Some of the Maniac Cop movies I was looking at weren't exactly standard DVD prices. But I suppose it's justified since these are DVD's of films that are really, quite hard to reach in some cases. I bought a DVD, the first Maniac Cop and took it home to marvel at but I will definitely be coming back for sure next time I visit the Denver area. You can spend a considerable amount of time going through the selection and find a whole bunch of films that you haven't heard of before and discover new ones with a story or concept you would take an interest to in adding to your DVD collection at home.

It's a store at a mall that sells music as well as new and used DVDs. Unfortunately, since those…read moreare two largely-dead niche markets anymore (RIP MediaPlay and Hastings/TradeSmart), this largely caters to younger crowds who probably don't want to sort through racks upon racks of treasures for those last few DVDs you need to complete your Tom Cruise movie collection or replace that season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that has a scratched disc. So the stock isn't fantastic, and the deals are mostly "hey, we marked this higher than you'll see it outside the mall then marked it down so the 'sale' price is actually the fair price anyone else would charge." Still, it's nice to see a shop that stocks vinyl without specifically *specializing* in it. Thirty-nine dollars for a fairly common Sabbath album is kinda high, though. They have a "save a percentage with membership" program but for some unknown reason, it also involves magazine subscriptions, on which you can also save(?)! I asked about it (since they had a sign to ask how to save) but I've seen so many "save on newsstand prices!" magazine scams masquerading as programs trying to sell me something they think I want (read: magazines) that I tuned out before the register monkey had finished the shpiel about how much it would cost up front versus how much off our purchases we'd actually save, let alone how much I'd be paying for magazines, apparently. So we still got some stuff, a couple seasons of Castle we didn't have and the Hobbit Extended Edition three-pack that we couldn't find at Best Buy. They probably would have also sold out of it if they tried selling popular movies instead of membership magazine programs, so guess I'm lucky in that regard.

This store scams people through a membership program that they pretend is a free rewards program…read more They get your credit card information through your purchase and then save it in their systems to charge you again and again. Not only that they also purposely misspelled my name and email by adding in random letters so I could not receive benefits or know about the subscription unless checking my bank statements. I only found out after getting a letter about an increase in the membership fee. I tried to get a refund but they said they couldn't due to the "terms and conditions" that I never even had the ability to agree to.
