my wife and I were trapped in the garage for an hour. The exit unit does not have a credit card slot. The sign at the exit days "DRIVE ON THROUGH". Once you get to the bar blocked exit, it does not open. By then there are 5 cars behind you, honking their horn, but won't let you out! Dreadful experience trying to pay for parking in this garage! Tried three time to use QR code, it finally worked. Had to fill out a form and type in my CC number twice. I finally got a text telling me I could drive through the gate. The arm did not go up. After some frustration we pulled out of line and called a number on a sign. Sat on hold for 10 minutes until I noticed a young man in a vest trying to help TWO other confused drivers! He finally got to me , and at the same time a woman finally came on the line. New parking system is AWFUL. And in addition to the parking payment there is an additional transaction fee?! They seriously don't care about their tenants to put in a system that is not so hated, customers don't want to go there. You need to set up an account with you name, license plate, credit card, etc. Who wants all their information in another random database...just to park?! I believe that this should NOT use Metropolis for their parking! I purchased a parking subscription through this app because I visit Walnut Creek often, yet I was still charged for parking because the app separates garages into extremely specific sections that are not clearly explained. I parked in a nearby Broadway Plaza garage and was charged anyway despite already paying for a subscription. To make matters worse, when I attempted to pay the charge afterward, the app would not properly process the payment. The entire experience has been confusing, frustrating, and unnecessarily stressful for people who are simply trying to park. The garage labeling and subscription system seriously need to be improved. read more

I won't be returning to Broadway Plaza until they get rid of this system. You have to have a cell phone with you, enter detailed personal information, and it takes forever and is glitchy. I agree 100% with RM of Walnut Creek, especially with his recommendation to "Park somewhere else. Better yet, shop somewhere else." I had the same experience as RM and if it wasn't for a Good Samaritan who happened bye and helped me do what was needed to set up my cell phone (I use it as a phone and nothing more) and exit the garage, I would still be entrapped in the Broadway Garage, 6 hours (as I write this) after I unknowingly entered the joint without forewarning of the stupid system Broadway installed so that it could eliminate toll folks and paper tickets at its garage. The new ticketless system at the parking garage is horrible!! I was there today and owed not $6.00 but $6.99?? I had no problem with that. What I did have a problem with was the terrible way of having to try to deal with payment. Trying to scan the code did not work. Tried twice with no success. Having to deal with putting in my credit card information while traffic was piling up behind me was ridiculous. I finally called the number posted and after waiting for a representative, I was livid. This system sucks. Why don't they have a way to pay ahead or if not that, then it should be a swipe system where you can just swipe your card and be off. Sitting there trying to input information or talk to someone did not work!! Go back to the tickets or have a way to swipe a card on the way out when you owe money. Cars piling up in back of me was frustrating and infuriating for everyone involved. This has to go. Fix it! read more

A nice parking garage located close to downtown. Its paid parking after 1hr, but if you are wanting to be downtown by North main street and Cypress street then this is the place to park. Parking rates are decent, but I prefer parking for free at the Plaza Parking garage on Locus Street if looking to be there for more than an hr. Plus the plaza parking lot has security guards for added car safety. Overall: This parking garage gets the job done, but prefer parking at the plaza garage and walking 5 minutes down the road. read more

Four stars for Broadway Parking Garage -- at least during COVID -- because parking is now free. (Even in "normal" times, the price is reasonable.) Also during COVID, it appears that they have removed signs that limited some areas until after 10 AM. That was a bummer for me if I had an early appointment and could not find a spot on a lower level. During mid-day, I have often ended up on the top level. That means using the stairs as I am very concerned about taking the elevator. My fear of being stuck in the elevator is not unfounded. Several months ago I was in the garage when someone was stuck in the elevator. The fire department was called, and they had a very difficult time in getting the door open. I didn't stick around to see how the issue was resolved. Just felt very badly for the person trapped inside. I rationalize that taking the stairs is good exercise ... unless you are juggling an umbrella and packages. The garage seems relatively safe. Have never encountered any questionable people there. I have not parked here at night so not sure about safety then. This garage is a good alternative to parking at Broadway Plaza and close to many businesses and restaurants. All in all, a good option for parking in Walnut Creek. read more

My last visit in April 2024 to Walnut Creek I parked at the Broadway Parking Garage which provides 3 hrs for free parking. I ended up going over the 3 hrs and resulted in parking cost of $25.00 for 2 additional hrs. That was ridiculous to charge that much for parking. Avoid this garage! read more

Parked here on a Saturday afternoon. Was kinda nervous since I had not been in this garage in years. The process was very simple! Take ticket upon entry, find a parking spot. There were plenty spots around 12:30pm. Take ticket with you. I took the stairs and walking out I saw the sign that said the first hour is free, 1.25 per hour. This is great information because if I ever want to just pickup food such as bakery items or food to go, this is a great place to park. When I returned, the process was again very simple, insert ticket in machine, insert credit card and a paid ticket comes out for exit. Here are plenty of parking spots here, the spaces are wide, and the overall area is clean. Plus the location was central for many restaurants. I definitely would return here. read more

I almost don't want to write this review and share the benefits of this well situated and affordable parking garage in Downtown Walnut Creek! However, part of being on Yelp is so to share... Although you're not right in the center of things, the Broadway Parking Garage is a quick and easy walk to many downtown restaurants, a reasonable distance to Broadway Plaza and for me, a great convenience close my hair salon. It's free the first hour and then 50 cents an hour following that. For the most part, even on weekends, I've easily found a spot and the spots are relatively spacious. You receive a yellow coin when pulling in and then you use that as your "ticket" to pay at one of the pay stations before you exit. Great option if you're going to spend a couple of hours in town and don't want to pay ridiculous parking rates or circle around looking for a rare free spot. read more

Contrary to some opinions, there is plentiful parking in Downtown Walnut Creek, even during the Holidays. Like others, I would prefer a spot on the street, especially if it was near a favourite restaurant. But Mick Jagger and the Stones so aptly sing: "You Can't Always Get What You Want" Walnut Creek also has a shuttle bus from BART. And at least a few garages are also near where you want to go, cheap (at most 50 cents an hour) and just as convenient. A few examples include the garage near the Lesher Center, the one near Lark Creek, the "hidden" one behind H&M/Pottery Barn, and the one near the Container Store. I stay far far away from the Macy's and Broadway Plaza lots and the circling wagon trains. My favourite is the Broadway Parking Garage. Andrew S. and Marissa C. speak true. It's convenient to Broadway Plaza, to City Hall and Walnut Creek on Ice, Downtown Walnut Creek, and even Whole Foods/Safeway. There are 2 easy to access entrances and there always seems to be parking readily available. And once you leave, Broadway provides a convenient route to highways going North, South and West. And this is where I parked before my first date with Gayle (Dinner at Plearn). And where, as I was leaving, called my friend Lisa to recap a very pleasant evening. read more

Our favorite parking garage! First hour free, every hour after 50 cents. I like parking here because it's prettier and more central than the Broadway Plaza garage. I tend to come for Main Street Rags, and from the other garage it's a bit of a trek. More often than not there are spots and it's easy to get in and out of. If you don't like the parking at Broadway Plaza, perhaps you should write a review on their page. Also, in defense of Broadway Plaza and their parking garage... I work in a store at the Plaza and the security team is doing their best to make sure that people from businesses outside of Broadway Plaza are NOT parking in our lots. First of all, it's posted that ONLY shoppers and employees of the Plaza get to enjoy the free parking, so everyone working somewhere else should just find somewhere else to park. It's not their fault that all the other garages charge you money. Second, do you know how hard it is to find parking when people from other businesses are parking in our lots??? I know everyone thinks that Macy's lot is always empty, but you know what??? As a non-Macy's employee, I can't park there even though I work in the Plaza! So, if you have a beef with the parking situation in the Macy's lot, TAKE IT UP WITH MACY'S! They make the rules for their lot! Finally, if everyone would pay attention and follow the rules, there would be no need to get your shorts in a twist over getting punish for doing something wrong. Seriously, it's pretty darn awesome! :D So centrally located and hardly even visible, which made me feel super safe. I parked overnight on a weekend - all weekend long - and there was no issue whatsoever! Payed less than $20 for two days. The little yellow coin ticket thing is super handy, won't get bent or ripped.
