I use the premier parking lot that is right in front of the airport. It really is a two minute walk into the terminal. With a suitcase and a pet carrier I'm just not up for walking. There's always plenty of parking spaces and easy entrance and exit with parking QR code in my Apple wallet. They've worked out the tech to be easy with a lot of good notifications. read more

I like the economy parking option much better than other surrounding airport parking options. It's a reasonable distance from Southwest Airlines, which is how I usually travel. At 61 and reasonably healthy, I can walk to check-in and get some exercise in. There is also a shuttle if I need it. The wait for a shuttle is not long. Cost is reasonable. What went well. Well. EVERYTHING. Easily made reservations online and paid. If you book early then you could save about a days worth of parking. Everything was set. All I had to do was show up. I've been parking here for the last few years now. About 3 or 4. After realizing that the outside parking was only about 20 dollars cheaper. Just pay the extra 20 or so. You'll have a peace of mind knowing that your car is safe. You're in OAKLAND for crying out loud. Parked in daily and it's literally about a 5-10 minute walk depending on the airline you are taking. Also after a long trip you just want to go STRAIGHT to your car. You don't have to call and wait for anyone and you can TIP YOURSELF LOL. Hop in the car and straight to the FREEWAY. the staff is friendly even though I only encountered them about three times while I've been parking here. This last time it read my license plate and straight in. Had a little trouble on the way out but the operator realized that it read my plate and they let me out. Who knew you could just drive up to the airport and park for one week without having to take out a second mortgage on your home? As someone who pre-books off-site/shuttle-to-airport parking when flying out of Oakland I experienced frustrating problems trying to do just that the day before my flight. The web site for Airpark wasn't allowing me to pay, driving me straight into the hands of OAK Official Parking (aka PARK OAK). Your loss, Airpark. Two long term options exist here, one which also requires you park then shuttle to the airport but I sprung for the other option and paying in advance proved advantageous. Not only is a discount applied for doing so, but you don't need to rely on a shuttle. Even when shuttles are fast and efficient, parking within walking distance of the terminal shaves off a lot of time getting to and from your flight. One week of long term parking through PARK OAK, paid in advance (to get a discount) ran about $22/day. PARK OAK made my travel days a whole lot more efficient at a really reasonable price. It was costlier than off-site airport parking but not egregiously so and the ease of the process outweighed the additional expense. Off-site parking at Oakland Airport is now ancient history for me. read more

Early morning and late night Lighting is great ... signage is large and readable. Licenses plate reader in and out is simply OUTSTANDING. Walking and parking lots well kept so my wife's wheelchair is pretty easy to push while she holds our suitcase - or two! We choose parking our car over family/friend drop off. OAK airport parking is part of my trip planning & when scheduling ahead of time the prices are reasonable. I still feel safe walking to/from the lot & leaving my car here. The only thing I've had issues with is entering the lot; as It can take a few tries for the scanner to read the bar code on my phone. read more

Such an incredible and simple process. I booked daily parking online the morning of my trip. Scanned the code when I entered the lot. I walked about three minutes to my gate and flew to Southern California. When I came home two days later, I walked up my car, drove to the gate, and scanned myself out. This review is for the Oakland Airport Economy parking lot. We parked there as we were flying to San Diego and returning the next night. The costs is a flat rate of $18/day. This means if you park there for even an hour or two hours over 24 hours you will get charged for two days - $36. That is my only complaint (thus the 4 star rating) - there should a pro-rated proportionate rate as it doesn't seem fair to charge for 2 days parking if you only park a few hours over the 24 hour period. For example they can charge $1/hr for hours between 24 - 36 hours, then charge the flat rate after that. There is a free shuttle which runs every 12 - 15 minutes and several shuttle stops (7) in the huge parking lot with a call box. Some poles are also marked with lettering (ie. C4) to help you identify your location as it is easy to get lost. There is a system to the lettering but it is not obvious to me. There is plenty of parking though you might have to drive around the lot if you are picky about where you park. (On a Friday night we had to park way in the back.) There is no overhead cover (need your umbrella if it is raining) but plenty of lighting so you don't have to hunt for your car in the dark . Upon returning from our flight, the shuttle bus was waiting at the airport curbside and we were able to catch it back to our shuttle stop within 10-15 minutes. They accept cash or credit and you can reserve parking ahead of time or go online to get an estimate of the parking costs for the various lots (premier, hourly, daily and economy) which can help you decide which parking is cheapest assuming your flight times don't change (many flights are changed or cancelled).(Hubby had a hard time finding the exit - thank goodness for the extra lights as we got closer to the entrance of the lot.) read more

Parking is incredibly convenient, since you can walk to the terminal and don't have to wait for a shuttle. This is great for someone like me that is almost always runnning late! Everything is uncovered, so you will be out in the open. If that's an issue, you should park elsewhere in a private lot. Parking at SFO, sometimes I arrive and the lots are full, but I have never ever had that problem at OAK. Sometimes it's hard to find a spot, but they're in there. Pro tip: make a reservation (at least 2 hours in advance) to secure yourself a spot! They even give you a discount for pre-booking. They send you a QR code to scan if you pre-book. I've always had trouble using these QR codes on my phone and assumed it was my fault, so I was glad to get confirmation from another Yelp reviewer that the readers are both incredibly sensitive and too low for most vehicles. I drive a Prius and I always have to open my door and get out to get my QR code read. read more

I used Oakland Airport's Daily parking lot for the first time this weekend when I took a quick trip down to LA for a family event. It was affordable, easy, and super convenient! I made a reservation online and used the QR code to scan in/out of the lot. It was easy to find the parking lot and a parking spot once I was through the gate. It was a quick 5 minute walk to the terminal (and back to the car when I returned a few days later). I loved being able to hop into my car and head home soon after I arrived back at OAK, rather than waiting for a ride share. Overall, my experience was positive after I did some research online and figured some of it out. Directions weren't clear for someone who doesn't use this method often. I wasn't sure how to make an accurate reservation for entry and exit time due to variability in travel from the Central Valley and possible arrival delays on my return flight. The policy wasn't clear to me regarding what happens when I can't get back to my car before the time I'd originally reserved. Would my car be towed? Are there monetary penalties for being later and how much would that be? The shuttle was running more frequently than stated, which was a plus because it was 6:00 am and raining. The driver was very sweet and patiently helped me with my luggage. I happened to return on time and didn't have to find out what would happen if I'd been late. I will consider flying out of Oakland again, in spite of horrible BA traffic if parking is this easy. I would recommend to anyone. read more

Parked at Oakland airport lots a few times this year. It's really convenient especially if you have a toddler. No need to take a shuttle. Just park and walk to the terminal. The website was also really easy to use and provided discounts and different parking options. Price wise it's comparable to offsite lots if you do long term parking and don't want to deal with as many logistics. We've used OAK parking many times. Mostly in the Daily parking before they did the discounts via online reservations. This time we parked at the Economy. We would have preferred to park in the Daily parking but you can only get the discount through the online reservation and with flight delays, it's tough to make a reservation because it seems like a half-hour can make a difference in how much you pay. Parking is easy to use and easy to navigate in and out of the lot. In our last trip, we flew Southwest and our departure was delayed by about 40 minutes and arrival was delayed by 20 minutes. I prefer the old way of getting the discount which was a barcode to scan at checkout and no online reservation was needed. I actually emailed them for a couple questions and never heard back from them. Also it would be nice if they start building roofs over their parking lot. Currently, it's all outdoor parking with no cover. To OAK - Maybe use solar panels as parking covers and save some money on the light post used in the parking lot? read more

Definitely use the economy parking when possible. Its the same distance to the premium. If you arrive to terminal 1 its only a short walk. Both terminals connect anyway. The TSA in terminal 1 no clear. Terminal 2 southwest has the clear tsa option. Terminal 1 gate 1 to 9 Terminal 2 is 20 to 34 The amex escape lounge is by gate 8. I suggest to built some walkway covers in the daily or economy lots when it rains in the winter. If you travel with lots of luggage pr large family and need to use a parking lot use economy. You have the option to use the shuttle and drop you off at the terminals read more
