I was preparing to move out of the country for work and needed a vet to handle all the USDA/AHPIS…read moreexport paperwork. Thankfully, Massanutten Animal Clinic could handle it and they were conveniently located near my family. They did an excellent job and were patient/kind when dealing with my tight timeline. I plan to use them in the future for both travel paperwork and regular checkups when I am home visiting family. Cheers!

I was in Harrisonburg for work when my service dog unexpectedly ran very low on his prescription…read moregastrointestinal food. I had the valid prescription from our regular veterinarian, who was even willing to speak directly with the veterinarian at Massanutten to verify both the prescription and my dog's medical history. Despite that, the clinic refused to sell the prescription food unless they first examined my service dog and charged me for an office visit. This was not a request for a diagnosis or treatment--only to purchase the exact prescription diet that had already been prescribed by his veterinarian. I understand that veterinary clinics have policies and professional responsibilities, but I was disappointed by the complete lack of flexibility or compassion in a situation involving a traveling service dog with documented gastrointestinal issues. My veterinarian made every effort to verify the prescription, yet no accommodation was offered. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this clinic. I believe they missed an opportunity to put the well-being of a service animal first, and I left feeling that helping my dog was secondary to generating an office visit. I hope they will reconsider how they handle similar situations in the future so that other traveling pet owners--especially those with service animals and established veterinary care--receive a more compassionate response.

Shenandoah Animal Hospital - This is Biscotti. My alpaca that Shenandoah Vet Clinic didn't give a crap about and let him die in my lap.

Dr Truban saved my dog's life and then let my alpaca die in the field with NO compassion at all…read more This vet has the ABSOLUTE WORSE RECEPTIONISTS. Every call, they put you on hold, first thing. They don't even bother to ask why you are calling. You can sit on hold for 6, 7, 8 minutes before frustration sets in. Then, you can wait and wait to be seen. 25 minutes past my appt time and they noticed I was upset. They ask me to chill out. I was told they are doing the best they can. No! The problem is, you have too many clients and you cannot give the isolated attention each one needs. Then, my alpaca was dying, and I called for an emergency farm visit, in a panic. I was told to call Rose Hill Vet!! Hahahahahaha. You don't give a crap about me and my dying alpaca. So after they told me they wouldn't come, they had the nerve to say, "hope your alpaca gets the care he needs"!! PEOPLE - FIND ANOTHER VET!!!!!!!!!!! THEY WILL LET YOU DOWN IN YOUR MOST DESPERATE MOMENT.

Notified the vet. The vet called me Friday evening just before they closed gave me an appointment for Monday evening. she suffered until Sunday, I took her to an emergency vet an hour away had to put her down with stage four lung cancer multiple nodules in both lungs yet that wasn't picked up on before she was given anesthesia. shortness of breath was not considered an emergency. respiratory distress was not considered an emergency. I'm sorry the techs and the front desk Staff are wonderful some of the vets are wonderful, but when respiratory distress and shortness of breath is not considered an emergency, I don't know what to say. I will never be going back there again with any of my four-legged family members. no one ever took responsibility. It was just excuses. All I can say is people need to step up and take responsibility. Don't make excuses.
