While shopping in the Elmhurst section of queens , I remembered that some of my boys are aristocrats and want wine with wings , hot dogs and other grub while watching Thursday nite football and Broadway wine and liquor looks like a place that has plenty .Place is not big but it's wall to wall , section to section , aisle to aisle stacked neatly and organized with every type of booze with decent displayed prices . I was able to roam and browse freely and found exactly what the boys wanted in wine and one bottle of champagne to celebrate my cuz getting a big promotion at work . I have a couple of friends who love getting wine as gifts and since I was in the neighborhood, I ended up at Broadway Wine & Liquor. They are conveniently located next to the 74th Street subway stop in Elmhurst. The store isn't very large, but it appears to have a good inventory of alcohol. Every square inch of the store, from floor to ceiling, is stacked with liquor bottles. I went in with a picture of two wine bottles that my friend has mentioned they would love to get. I showed it to the guy behind the counter and he immediately was able to show me where they were located. I was very impressed! If I ever need to buy alcohol again, I'll most likely come back here. read more

It is reasonable price for retail and I won't compare the price to wholesale like some people. Good thing about this store is they open late night too so my friend always buy wine from this store when she out of her drink even this store is not the closest one to her house. read more

very over priced wines and they never say hello to you, barely can scan your items right, wont ask you if you want a receipt, but can immediately charge you. Have a social conversation with other people over you because apparently work is social hour with friends as well. Then when you ask for a receipt they act like they dont know how to do it or its "too late" though on the POS screen it has the receipt still showing on the screen. Been here a couple of times, wont be going back again. The people who work here are idiots. read more

$8 bokbunja. Oh heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeallllllllllllz yeah. Yes, this place is in Queens. Some people may be afraid of visiting the "other" boroughs. Those "some people" included...me. HOWEVER, today I decided to brave the hinterlands. I ponied up and got on that "Uptown & Queens" bound train. AND HELLO. $8 bokbunja, $12.99 for 375 ml of Goldschlager, $16.99 for 750 ml of Malibu, and the list goes on and on. This place is right off the 7, E, F, V, G, and R stop at 74th Street and Roosevelt. That may not mean much to you, but here's the translation for those aforementioned "some people" -- it took me a little LESS than one hour roundtrip to (1) go from the 14th Street/6th Avenue F train stop to the Roosevelt stop, (2) purchase multiple bottles of bokbunja and other imbibification tools, (3) go check out the pricing on a pedicure at the beauty shop nearby, and (4) take the train back to the 14th Street/8th Avenue E train stop. Seriously. LESS THAN one hour. Take into account that it takes me about 25 minutes to get from my apartment to work (at the Grand Central stop), and this whole "other" boroughs prejudice is seeming mighty unwarranted at this point... So...all in all, if you want to stock up on bokbunja and other alcoholic indulgences, do not, I repeat DO NOT, be afraid of crossing the river into one of those "other boroughs" to seek out Broadway Wine & Liquor because, trust me, your trip will be well worth it. Joolie T. told me, she couldn't find it at Han ah ruem in Manhathan.. so I went to another Korean market in Jackson Heights.. friendly cashier lady told me, I needed to go to Broadway Liquor for it.. stepped in Broadway Liquor.. @.@ could find Soju, of course, Bokboonja (Raspberry Wine - Maria M.'s favorite), Maesilju (Plum Wine), OB Beer.. etc.. going back for my event on this coming Friday.. I know, I know. Everyone writes about this place as THE spot for cheap liquor -- and it is! But believe it or not, I come here for the awesome affordable wine. Namely for the Torres "Sangre de Toro" blend, which is still the best under $10 bottle I've found in the 3-4 years since I found it, and this is the cheapest place to buy it. The have the big size bottle of it, too! Beyond that, other wines are organized well by region, with lots of French, Italian, and Spanish choices. The South American options seem a little limited, but I'm sure you can find something good if you look. The staff is helpful and happy to suggest wines if you tell them what you like, and they'll keep them within your price range. I haven't had a chance to go back and try the staff's suggestions, but I definitely plan to. From inside the 74th St/Rooosevelt (aka Jackson Heights / Roosevelt Ave) station, take the 74th st exit OPPOSITE the main/atrium style exit. Turn immediately around on that corner so you're on Broadway and you'll be right in front of this place. read more

This place is literally right outside the 73rd street entrance/exit to the subway. Five stars for convenience for sure, and as Julie noted, great hours to boot. The prices are fine, especially when at 11 PM en route to a friend's dinner/boozeathon, you realize you need something to bring so you don't look like a mooching lush. read more

The worst service I had ever experienced. The man (I think he is the owner) kept yelling at us and said that we took too much time to chose. BUT, the store is close at 12am and it was only 10 pm. Also, we had been there for less than 10 min. I don't why he is so rude. If he want to leave early, just change their closing time to 10pm but not 12am. read more
