Sometimes the best food recommendations come from unexpected places... like the cashier at 7-Eleven. My son was actually asking for the bathroom and the cashier mentioned the places to eat that had indoor bathrooms. That 7-eleven only had porter potty. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the game area was full of people hanging out. My kid was excited to discover they had a pinball machine, which kept him entertained while we waited. Food: I ordered the smash burger with added mushrooms and bacon. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and the bun was soft and toasted just right. My son got the cheeseburger. He asked for everything on the side but ended up getting just cheese and lettuce. It still worked out. He also ordered a vanilla shake with Oreos mixed in. We were supposed to share it, but he ended up drinking most of it while my husband managed to sneak a few sips. My husband ordered the wings, which were saucy and satisfying. He was able to get half BBQ flavor and half spicy buffalo. They had several beers on tap. For my drink, I asked for the sweetest wine, and our server recommended the Rustic Ridge Pomegranate. It's from a nearby vineyard and was good--sweet, smooth, and easy to drink. Service: Service was friendly and attentive, and we were checked on throughout our meal. Military Discount: 10% off! Really enjoyed the boochcraft on tap. No drinks for hubs. Food: Steak fries and tater tots were ok and decent portion. Nothing special here. Everything served in paper trays- ok given bar atmosphere. Bbq wings okay. Hubs really liked the burger, nice and hot. Suoer friendly service throughout our meal. Appreciated the Padres game on every screen with sound and there were plenty including a wall screen. Prices are reasonable. Will def return to watch a game at the bar. Maybe food but def the kombucha! Overall we had a good time and enjoyed the vibe, food, and for me, the cold yummy kombucha. Brody's is one of our favorites when we're out hiking near Jamul. The service is always great. This past Saturday, the bartender Evan provided excellent customer service. I love a good burger and I am very picky! I don't like all sorts of stuff piled on top, it covers up the taste of the burger! I like just your basic burger with your typical fixings. Bordy's is on my list of two burger joints in San Diego who fits my taste. Their beef patties are flavorful and juicy! The customer service is great also. I finally tried this place after years of hearing great reviews and I couldn't be more disappointed. I paid $70 for very mediocre food. I got the western burger, it's $15 alone!!, and you have to add fries or tater tots on the side for an extra $4.99. See the pics, it's not worth $15. I could've gone to Carl's Jr and got a whole combo for that price. The other items I got were a classic cheeseburger, again had to add fries, and a kids combo. This place was super busy so people like coming here. Maybe it's for specials that are more reasonably priced. I for one will never go here again. Why complicate things? Can't really ask for too much more than this. They should offer some kinds of deals though. One thing I tried last time was the Chicago hot dog. Very average. That was kind of a mistake since they are known for their burgers.. The burgers are tasty and well seasoned with lots of black pepper. I took an educated guess on the beef they used, and believe it or not I was spot on! They are 1/3 pound, made of 80/20 ground chuck. The 80/20 means 80% beef, 20% fat. And we all know that you gotta have fat for flavor! Prices have increased suddenly since last visit. Isn't this the norm when you haven't visited a certain place in while? Now this has happened basically everywhere, but now the burgers are a la carte, no sides provided. All sold separately now. So in the end, this translates to an approximate 20-25% of price increase. My future visits here will most likely be beer-forward, with an occasional burger when the hard craving hits. Placed an online order and added upgrades such as avocado, seasoned waffle fries, and ranch. Each of which was an additional charge. When I went to pick it up I had to remind them of the ranch and when I got home I saw no avocado and no seasoned waffle fries just regular fries. I called to let them know and the guy said "uhh we don't do that" in regard to the seasoned fries. alright why is it an option? And for the rest, no apology and was told nothing could be done but in a condescending tone I was offered to drive back there "if I wanted a couple bucks back". During our visit, Frank was at the front desk and later came to our table to take our order. He was friendly and quick with our requests. I enjoyed a Russian River Supplication, which is a sour brown ale aged in Pinot noir barrels with sour cherries, along with a Western burger and onion rings. Another order in my party was a Hawaiian burger with a turkey patty and more onion rings. Another nice touch is the real buttermilk ranch dressing, which is super tasty. The atmosphere is laid-back and relaxed, with friendly service all around. You won't be disappointed with the food and drinks here. The kids were starving on our roadtrip and I looked up places to eat- we were between this place and a pizza spot but I followed the reviews: Brody's won I am so glad we stopped here. They have a great selection for the kids and the adults. A ton of ice cold beers on tap, tasty burgers, delicious tenders and fries. Came here after camping at Indian Hills. Initially we were debating if a bar setting would be appropriate for kids. Friendly staff immediately put our worries at ease. Restaurant is two spacious rooms. Left room is typical bar setting w about a dozen tables. Right room is more traditional restaurant with a mini arcade in the back. So disappointing! For months I was craving a Brody's smash burger with a fried egg so we went in to get one over the weekend. I have to say, I didn't care for it. The meat wasn't as juicy as the last one I had had there and before new management. The egg was the most disappointing! When ordering an egg on a burger, it should be cooked over easy (runny yolk) and not over medium as our waitress took it upon herself to order it that way. I've been here 6 times, each of these times sitting at the bar, 3 times prior to the original owners selling and 3 times since the new owners have taken over. Prior to the original owners leaving, I felt the vibe to be very welcoming and like a local spot. Since, I've given it a few tries, but the bartenders are not as welcoming and seem preoccupied. They act more like they are doing me a favor rather than helping me decide, for example , which beer I might like best.
