We took my wife's dad to Baron Longs for Breakfast Saturday morning. Mainly so he could make his bets for the Kentucky Derby. But breakfast first. Dad had the Eggs Benedict. My wife had the eggs and chicken fried steak. I had the Baron omelette. Look closely at the menu when you order. I did not notice peppers on the menu but I did ask for no onions. I could not enjoy my breakfast due to the peppers they were over bearing. What I did have was good. The service was great our water and coffee was fantastic. I've been to Baron Long Bar and Grill well over two dozen times, mainly because there are only three dining options at Sycuan since they closed the café and merged it into this restaurant. The noodle spot isn't really my style and The Grove is more of a high-end steakhouse, so Baron Long ends up being the default choice. I usually make a reservation on OpenTable so we can be seated quickly. The hostesses are typically efficient and friendly. The new outdoor seating area is beautiful and definitely the best place to sit when it's open. Inside, there's plenty of seating with both booths and tables, and the atmosphere is nice enough. Service is generally good, but the food quality has been slipping. The short rib used to be my favorite thing on the menu, but the last two times it came out either cold or extremely fatty. My friends have also had issues with incorrect orders, food not cooked properly, or dishes arriving cold. It's disappointing because it used to be much better. Overall, I'll still end up coming here simply because there aren't many other choices at the casino. I just really hope they improve the food again or open a few new restaurants so we have more options. read more

Thanks to my host, we always get comps and use them here at Baron's Long Bar & Grill. I love their salmon and the sampler platter.. it comes with onion rings, quesadilla, chicken wings, and jalapeño poppers. I always ask for the sauce on the side for my wings, and they always come out crispy and perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately, this past Halloween I tried the their special BBQ salmon and it was just okay.. I'd give it a 4/10. It was basically salmon with BBQ sauce, grilled veggies, and the fish was a bit overcooked. Their fries are always the best! Went back for breakfast. Got there a little after 7AM and had a small wait. Got seated rather quickly and had a very friendly waitress. I ordered the chilaquiles which is eggs, salsa verde, sour cream, queso fresco, onions, cilantro, avocado and my wife ordered the baron omelette which has beef short rib, bell peppers, onions, tomato, jack cheese, and she ordered the toast. It did take a little while for us to get our food but it was no big deal. They did just open so we weren't upset on the wait. The chilaquiles were perfect. I can't stand completely soggy tortillas and these tasted fresh and they had a big of heat to them from the sauce. It was a good portion as well. It was so good I finished them. It's hard to reheat these lol. The omelette was very delicious as well. The short rib was very tender and that was devoured all at once as well. I made a last minute reservation for this place for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and they had lots of availability on Open Table. When we walked up, there was a long line and a 30 minute wait. Thankfully, they took us and seated us and I'm really happy we were able to find a seat on the app. I liked the ambiance inside as it felt like a nicer sports bar with plenty of tvs showing Sunday sports. We ordered the sampler platter and substituted the jalapeño poppers for extra quesadilla. We were charged for substituting which wasn't made clear. The platter had wings that needed more sauce, but they were still good. The quesadillas had a nice amount of meat in them and the onion rings were fresh and crispy. Best burgers here & open late, but since I need say more its really good, love this place

Was supposed to go to Jamul but changed my mind to come here to celebrate my birthday. What a huge disappointment. I've eaten here a few months ago and the food was excellent. I was raving to my hubby about this place too. We waited an hour and a half for table and went to play slots. I remember the Brussels were so flavorful and just the right amount of spice, the cauliflower was perfectly browned on the outside and had just the right amount of tenderness. When my shit came out (yes, it was literal shit) I couldn't believe they had the audacity to serve these burnt ass items. They were charred as hell, hard as rocks, and tasted like cardboard! It was so obvious when the waitress brought the items to the table they weren't burnt. Still I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried eating. When I called the waitress over and apologized for the complaining she acted dumbfounded when I showed her the food and explained what was wrong. I requested a redo and for them to be unburnt and she took the buffalo cauliflower plate away leaving the nasty ass Brussels. Had to motion for her again to take them away and she acted all confused. She asked me if I wanted something else. I said no but she kept pressing. Then she suggested I tried the crème brue le I said ok cuz I had it before. The whole experience was very unpleasant. I feel like the service overall was horrible. I feel the least they could do was comp the dessert. My husband's rib and fries dinner was also unsavory and hard. He didn't want to complain so he just took it to go. If you are planning on celebrating an occasion do not dine here. There are other dining options, shit even the grab and go would've been a more palatable experience. And probably better customer service.
