Great night at the Broken Chair! Delicious selection and charming owners. AskTodd or Dan for a tour!

Great evening here with delicious brews and the nicest proprietors. Experts at brewing and creating a fabulous atmosphere. The selection is great and varied- hard to pick a favorite. They don't have food but local places deliver- Tony's is great! Check out the classic vinyl framed on the walls!

Such an amazing selection on tap!

This place is AMAZING. An absolute must visit if you're in the area. We we're camping nearby with family and decides to check it out on a whim since they had such a great selection. We are so glad we did. I have never visited a brewery with so many drastically different beers on tap, and I liked ALL of them, which has never happened before. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Please please try this place out!

    My flight of four!

A great new find on Penn Ave on West Reading. I ordered a filght of four 5oz pours. Hops were my fancy today so the flight consisted of 3 IPAs and Imperial Stout. First up was World Destruction, a 5 hop, 80 IBU, 6.6% complexly flavored IPA that was delicious which my soul mate also ordered in a pint. She described it as "invitely busy on your palate". Wrong Direction was the next IPA in line. A 110 IBU, 9.45% hopped ale which would make a hop head sit up a take notice. I next took a step back on the IBU scale to Time Warp, a session like ale which was something you could drink responsibly all day long. This ale stats come in at 6% ABV, 66 IBU. Last on the flight plan was Silent Elevation, a 71 IBU, 9.2% Imperial Stout which was very good. My soulmate is a connoisseur of Imperials, so let her have small taste. Her eyes lit up with a big smile. This Imperial had a great stout flavor with subtle hops addition. The owners also made us very welcome and engaged in a quite delightful discussion about their brewing operations, conversion of the space from the former tile business into the brick walled tasting room with some of the finest vinyl album records I have not seen since the 70s. A definite musr stop if you are in West Reading looking for great beer and atmosphere. We will be back!

Tasty beer, something for everyone. I like that they aren't bitter. Also, this place is really cute.

Six of us and we all had a good time there. Beer was good, bartender very friendly. Nice, relaxing place to hang out.

I want to like this place but beer is mediocre at best. There are much better options in Berks.

Beer is still horrible. I won't be going back. 3 times is enough for sh*tty beer! Maybe hire a new brewer......quickly.

Best beer of any local brewery around. Customer service was friendly and efficient. You can bring in your own food which is cool

The building is in the old Vanity Fair complex, so it has high ceilings and plenty of parking spaces. They have a nice size bar, but we sat at a table inside. There was live music outside on the patio, but we only realized it when we left. The brunch menu had a selection of offerings, including mimosas and yummy chicken and waffles! The regular menu with appetizers and sandwiches was still available too. The service was quick and the food was delicious. Nice beer selection and mixed drinks too! Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Throw in some TVs, a big U-shape bar for maximum area, thus making it my favorite bar shape. Have you ever been standing in one of those straight-line bars, and you're about three layers of people away from even sniffing the bar. It's claustrophobic, it creates a needless bottleneck, it feels like you're about to be crushed. Not here. It's open with super high ceilings. You can go outside and play cornhole in the crisp fall air. The whole place is easily accessible either by using the parking lot out front or the even bigger parking lot in the rear. I think there is some sort of hidden ballroom downstairs for private events. Every now and then you see a whole wedding procession just casually stroll on through. I guess it's the hot destination, which makes total sense when you take a step back and can see Sly Fox for what it truly is, which is your cookie cutter craft brewery bar experience you've seen countless times up and down the eastern seaboard. I gotta give it to them, Sly Fox was one of the few breweries to break through to kind of the ultimate level. To the point where it goes well beyond just having your beer appear in local bar taps, but to be the establishment itself, and in this case, a successful chain of them. With its headquarters in Pottstown, it's always nice to see success stories like these with local roots. I will look back and think fondly of these days before it becomes a giant evil mega corporation snuffing the life out of smaller startup breweries like it once was by the dozen. Until then, might as well enjoy the ride.
