I've been going to Broken Compass for years. They don't have any food, but you are welcome to bring your own. The bartenders always know the beers very well and will get you something that you will like. The original location is in a bit of an industrial area, but there is plenty of parking, the locals are friendly, and the scenery outside is great!

Wonderful atmosphere. Beer is first class. Seating at the bar or outside is good. Das Bier ist wahrscheinlich nicht nach Reinheitsgebot gebraut - tja, kann man ja nicht verlangen. Not too many Texans, also a bonus :-)

Broken Compass was a cool stop on our way back to Denver. We found a stop across from the bar and enjoyed a few beers - for me, the sours always hit the spot. These guys were massively busy but kept the lines moving and smiles on faces. We snuck out with a shirt and a promise to return.

Stopped by recently on my way back to Frisco from Breck. Located on a warehouse type of street but with nice views. Walked in the front door and quickly picked up on the "locals" vibe vs. the more tourist-oriented breweries in the area. Definitely caught a few "who are you?" stares as I made my way to the bar, but the barkeep was super friendly and put me quickly at ease. Had the Mangy Moose Pale Ale which was tasty. Sat outside and enjoyed the mountains. Friendly labrador cruised by making his rounds and saying hello to everyone. Nice off the beaten path brewery especially if you're looking to hang with locals. Have not visited the other location in downtown Breck.

Amazing pet friendly indoor brewery with both beer and gluten free seltzer options! This is a great place to hang out with your pet and escape the cold while having a table and a drink. I definitely recommend if you need to get some work done while having your pet with you!! Because of this they do not have any prepared food options, however you are welcome to bring your own! This is also a good place to buy local art or shirts/ gear from the brand and receive amazing customer service!

I haven't been here in many years, but this is one of those places I will specifically drive from Denver to, because of the most amazing Coconut Porter that I have tried as of yet! If memory serves me correctly, last visit, one of the workers explained they select the coconut shavings and roast them in-house, just for this beer. The summer atmosphere; I went on a Thursday at noon. Not super busy, but amazing music, perfect beer and a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere! Plenty of gifts to buy, from tee shirts, insulated cups, mugs and stickers. My travel was just for a motorcycle day-ride, and I brought home a growler of the Coconut Porter I love. I will definitely be planning a trip back to stock up. One of the local guys ordered a pizza and had it delivered and it smelled amazing! Next time, I'll do a review on the pizza when I order one! Get up here, check it out and support an amazing brewery! Sláinte!

Update: officially my favorite brewery in the state. Broken compass just keeps getting better. Dogs welcomed: check super friendly service: check gluten free: check outdoor patio: check comfy, great views, great music. I chose the pina colada seltzer and it was so refreshing. Hubs got the chili pepper beer and loved it too.

I gotta say, I am not a fan of "Breck". It reminds of a fake, plastic "town" in a Florida theme park. Artificial and gross. This brewery though, on the outskirts? May have been one the best breweries I've ever been to. First the bartender: Jake*. He was amazing! Friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. A brewtender will almost always have one of those traits. Maybe 2 if you're lucky. But 3?! Unheard of. An example that illustrates what I'm talking about: He was serving at least a dozen beer drinkers, and looked laid back and chill the whole time! I asked him what hops were in "Zamba Juice" and he looked at me with a friendly but confused look. He was like "is that a trick, Zamba!" I am an avid homebrewer and I seek out weird hops. I often buy experimental hops that have not even been named yet! However, I had never heard of Zamba. The Hazy IPA they made with it here was quite good! As soon as it's available from my supplier, I'm in for a pound! We also split a sampler of 4 beers. I was impressed that their sampler had slots for 6 beers. I have 6 taps at my house for homeberew and...it seems like every single taster tray on Amazon/at-homebrew-shops only has 4 slots? I asked him where they got it, and he wasn't sure. But he told me to bring him some homebrew next time and I had to sadly tell him that I live in Alaska and that wasn't likely : ( There were also some very friendly dogs here! The kind where the owner doesn't even have to say that red-flag statement "he's friendly!"...because...he's actually friendly, and he speaks for himself! If I ever end up in 'Breck again, Jake is getting some homebrew! *If you know anything about me you know that I'm horrible with names (and increasingly, even faces, ugh). I'm also often skeptical of reviews that name-drop constantly because they seem a little fakey, like they know everyone. But, I made it a point to ask Jake's name, and then make a note in my phone, it reads "Jake, bartender at compass".

Our all time favorite spot - Breckenridge and beyond. This brewery has the greatest vibe. Local but still caters to out of towners. Every bartender is courteous as well as knowledgeable and makes you really feel at home. The beers are also incredible - they have a few staples that are on the menu consistently, but we never miss an opportunity to try their new beers. We have never been disappointed. They have a great crowd every week for trivia that is fun and exciting. We have even booked a private party here the night before our wedding and our guests had a blast and raves about beers / bartenders. Stop on your way in or out of town or just for a brew ski for apres - any time you stop you will not be disappointed!

Awesome spot! I love how this location is a little bit out of the main area of downtown Breck. Dog friendly and awesome beers. The beertenders were awesome also, looking forward to going back.

I loved hanging out at Broken Compass Brewing. I had so much fun trying the beers, being outside at the picnic tables, and chatting with our server. I haven't been out to restaurants, breweries, or bars because of COVID, and Broken Compass Brewing is the first spot I've hung out at since March. I chose it because I needed a beer after hibernating, but also because of the outdoor seating and option to order delivery from local pizza places. The outdoor tables had plenty of space between them, the server was wearing a mask and gloves, and there were arrows taped on the floor to direct people inside. It felt really safe, and I appreciate that. Now onto the beer - wooooooowza! I decided to go with a flight to get a taste of all the different types of beer Broken Compass has to offer. One of my favorites was the Ginger Pale Ale - easy to drink, crisp, just the right amount of ginger so that the beer wasn't overpowered. I'm also not usually a big dark beer fan, but the Coconut Porter may have converted me. It was so smooth and had a slight sweet finish from the coconut (that coconut oooeeee, let me tell you). My friend chose a flight with IPAs, and really loved it too, so if you're a big IPA fan, you should give it a go. It was also great that we were able to order pizza delivery. The greasy food paired with a flight of beers, was just what I needed. I'm so glad I was able to enjoy time with a friend while sipping some amazing brews and taking a pause from the craziness. Definitely check out Broken Compass Brewing...do it for the Ginger Pale Ale.

I've been here a few times now. It's the perfect place for a little après after Breck, especially if you park in the airport lot. We were there when they had a socially distanced band playing out of their pickups (parked next to each other) in the back with outdoor seating only. Another couple of times when there was limited indoor seating. The views from the back aren't great with Airport Rd right there, but at least you're not overlooking traffic. The beers that I've tried there have all been exceptional. I think my favorite is the Ginger Pale Ale. I've seen a food kiosk out front, but haven't eaten from it, an I'm not sure they are part of BCB though. They have a good swag selection from koozies to bike jerseys and even mittens! I'd like to say I'm a regular, but they don't know me yet, but they will. Happily recommend Broken Compass as one of the solidest breweries I've been to.

Was greeted promptly upon entering and directed to the bar to place a to go order. I had limited time because had to catch a bus. The ambiance was fun with TV screens around to watch various sporting events. I was watching A&M get beat by Miami while waiting for my food order to be prepared. They have the silver brewery tanks where they brew their beer on site behind the bar area. They had a bunch of unique brews but I am not a beer person. I found a seat at the bar and the bartender came to take my order. I mentioned that I was on a time crunch with having to catch the bus in approximately 35 minutes and just wanted to check to see if the kitchen could accommodate my schedule. I was a bit taken aback when he responded that he couldn't guarantee anything and the electricity could go out.... So I was going to pass on ordering, but then he said we better get my order in then. So I put in an order for fish and chips. Then he said the kitchen should not have a problem accommodating that time window. He brought me some water and I enjoyed watching the football game while I waited for my to-go order. The food was ready in plenty of time for me to make it to the bus stop. It was packed nicely and came in a paper bag. I was able to enjoy it at the bus stop. Fish and Chips with Avalanche Ale battered white fish, fries, tartar. The fish has a nice batter but was a bit bland and could have used more salt or other seasoning. It really needed the tartar sauce to complete the flavor profile. The fries were light and crispy. Overall the food was what I would expect from a brewery. Nice place to go in breck to enjoy beer and food while watching a sporting event.

***TREVOR NEEDS A RAISE***…read more I had an awesome experience at Breckenridge Tap House. Right when we walked in the whole place just had a super relaxed vibe. There was no wait at all, which is pretty rare in Breckenridge, especially during ski season. We got seated right away and everything felt easy from the start. It was the kind of place where you can just kick back after a day on the mountain and grab some good food. Our waiter Trevor was an absolute chiller. Seriously one of the most laid-back and friendly servers I've had in a while. He came over right away, brought us waters, and just had a super good attitude the whole time. Instead of rushing through everything like some places do, he actually talked with us and made the whole experience feel way more personal. One thing we really appreciated was how cool he was about the menu. My son wanted to order off the kids menu and Trevor had no issue with it at all. He didn't make it weird or complicated, he just said no problem and took the order. Little things like that go a long way and made the whole meal way smoother. The food also came out really fast and everything we got was solid. Trevor kept checking in at the perfect times and made sure our waters stayed full without being annoying about it. He also talked with us about skiing and the conditions around Breckenridge, which was cool because we had just been out on the mountain. It felt like talking to someone who actually enjoys the town and the people coming through. The best part was honestly after we left. We accidentally forgot something at the table and didn't realize until we were already outside. When we came back, Trevor was literally waiting with it ready to give it back to us. That kind of thing doesn't happen everywhere. Overall the service was great, the food came out fast, and Trevor was an absolute chiller the entire time. I'd definitely come back here again.

There was absolutely no way we were driving past the Frisco exit without pulling off. Outer Range is our ultimate mountain pit stop. They have an awesome location with a stunning modern build and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the fresh mountain air. It is wild to think that we just visited their sister location in the French Alps during our recent European travels. The fact that they can maintain total excellence across two different continents is unreal. The two spots are completely equal, and the Colorado taproom continues to prove why they are world-class. The beers were spectacular as always. We started out with a couple of pints of their New England-style juice. In the Steep is a masterclass in the style with a beautiful, pillowy mouthfeel and heavy tropical notes. Sun in the Clouds was just as impressive. It delivers those bright citrus flavors without the aggressive hop bitterness. I even noticed Cross Flow on the tap list, which is a fresh, hazy collaboration they just put out with Casey Brewing. Before packing back into the truck, we made sure to grab a new metal tacker to hang up in the garage. We also snagged a four-pack of Lil John Wayne. The can art is easily the funniest label on the shelf, but the actual beer is a solid ten out of ten. To fuel the final stretch of the drive home, we ordered from Bird Craft right inside the brewery. They do not cut corners here. They are frying up full wings, including the drummies and the flippers, and they will toss them in any of their house sauces for an incredible snack. The skin stays remarkably crispy even under a thick coat of sauce, and the meat stays perfectly juicy. It is exactly the kind of savory comfort food you need after a long road trip. Every single time we stop by this place, they manage to completely knock it out of the park.

My friend ordered a burger that was supposed to come with lettuce, blue cheese, and the works. Instead, it arrived with just chicken and bread. That was it. No toppings at all. The water we were given was also incredibly dirty -- it literally looked grey. Service somehow managed to be both overwhelming and nonexistent. While we were eating, the waiter came back to the table every couple of seconds so we couldn't even have a conversation. But when we were actually ready for the check, suddenly there was no waiter anywhere and we fwaited about 15 minutes. On top of that, every request got mixed up. I asked for blue cheese and after about 10 minutes the waiter came back with ranch. Then I asked for lemon vinaigrette (which the meal was supposed to come with) and instead got honey mustard. After explaining again, she came back with... even more honey mustard. We also paid $10 for fries with green chili and received about 15 fries. And one more thing when paying they did NOT bring my card back for about 20 minutes. It was also extremely dark where we were sitting all of the surrounding lights were off but everywhere else in the resteraunt was perfectly fine Overall the food quality, service, and attention to orders were extremely disappointing.
