This is an old school Drive up carhop restaurant. There's no seating inside. And while you're there drive across the street to their City Hall and check out the cannonball hole in the front of the building.

He said "oh what did she get" and went and got some very dark chicken tenders. 3 small ones to be exact and a pile of fries smaller than my hand. this was an adult $14 meal..it looked right for a child portion. My husband ordered meatloaf and double mashed potatoes. his food did not even come close to covering the plate. very small portion. my $16 "sliced prime rib" was a tiny bit of chopped bits. like meat garnish not a meal. (i even removed the meat to show staff their was no meat it was all gravy) on top of a small bit of mashed potatoes that was placed on a plain piece of bread. the bread was not even toasted. just taken from a bag and put on the plate. the green beans were canned, not seasoned, and sogged the whole plate because they were not even drained. you could see the meal swimming in the green bean juice and this was after my bread soaked up as much as it could. unable or willing to eat this soggy bread meal with no meat I asked for the manager. only to discover the woman in the bathroom the first visit WAS the owner!! She was lack luster in her care. seemed more annoyed. we waited 40 min not including the 15 min we spent standing for a table in a half full restaurant with plenty of tables. She said the beans were seasoned but i even showed her. no ham bits. no bacon. not even pepper visible. they were bland and soggy. She did ask to make something else and considering the long wait, the fact my family already had food i asked "do you know how long it will be?" expecting "oh ill make sure this gets done first and is out quickly!" she instead replied with "i really dont know." with that i didnt feel good about the idea. and sure enough my family, starved by then, finished their meager portions quickly. For the price you get less food on a plate than a Culver's fast food dinner plate. Astounding. Will not be back. Very disappointing. It is also dirty. the menus have a layer of grime but they are laminated for easy cleaning.

Anime artwork stretched across the side. Go Chew Burger. At the window, someone was waiting who was every bit as inviting as the aroma coming out of that heavenly little bus. I started looking over the menu, and there, winking at me, was the GOCHEW Burger. They mentioned the double patty. I hesitated. "We won't tell anybody." Two patties it was. They also talked me through the kimchi: fresh or charred. They gave me enough information to make me feel like I was making all the decisions. Double patty. Charred kimchi. Loaded fries. I was all in. While I waited, I did what anyone with an infatuation does: research. I learned about Joohae "Chewy" Yoon and what she's trying to do with GOCHEW--take Korean flavors and put them into foods people already know. Burgers. Fries. Familiar food carrying something new. Then the buzzer went off. Time for our first date. No chairs. No tables. Things were getting a little awkward, so we went back to the car. The fries had lost their crispness to the sauces and steam, but I didn't care. The Korean BBQ sauce was sweet and savory, the gochujang brought mild heat, the creamy lime sauce cut through it all, and the bright green chives pulled everything together. Incredible. But the burger? Perfectly crisped edges. Juicy, hot beef. Melted cheese. Charred kimchi bringing sweetness and acidity. Three sauces that somehow never fought for attention. And the bun had a serious responsibility. Two patties. Cheese. Kimchi. Three sauces. Everything depended on it. Spider-Man protects New York and everyone who depends on him. This bun had the same problem. With great power comes great responsibility. And it held. Mostly. The attraction was still there. The infatuation was still there. So not off to a great start. I ordered an omelet with onions and jalepenos. The onions were cut somewhat large and did not seem like they were sautéed so they were crunchy, and the peppers were right out of the jar and I'm guessing they were not tried because the inside of the omelet was liquidy. I scooped the filling out and the eggs were fine, but not what I expected. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and ordered the tots. Sandwich was good but he thought the tots were awful. Our server was very friendly and attentive and even offered a coffee to go. Yet, we were disappointed with the food and will not be back for breakfast.

We have been visiting Popi's about weekly now since the first review. They have consistently been…read moreattentive, responsive, caring, and clean. Our visits recently have been on June 2, 9, 15, 22, 29 and so far July 8, 11. That is a testament to their delicious food, ample servings, and friendly personnel. For servers, on most days we have had Angelica, a couple times we have had different servers and have been good as well. Our selections have become pretty regular meaning we have been pretty much ordering the same thing as we enjoy them so much. I get the Fajitas Popi's ($20.25) which includes meats of chicken, beef, chorizo, and shrimp. It always comes out sizzling with a protector pad on the handle to prevent burning. An example of the quantity of meat included are 6 jumbo shrimp or 8 large shrimp in the mix and about 3 tablespoons of chorizo, as well as a nice complement of chicken and beef. It seems like at least five to six ounces of each. Vegetables include grilled and sliced bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. My wife gets the Chicken Fajitas ($18.25) which includes a very nice amount of sliced chicken (seems like about at least 1/2 pound), as well as the grilled peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Each fajita platter comes with a second plate that includes beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce. In addition, 3 foil wrapped tortillas are provided wrapped in foil to keep them to and moist, choice of flour or corn. As mentioned, the food quantity is very good, especially for a single serving. My Fajitas Popi's had twice as much meat and vegetables on it for a single serving than we received at a restaurant on a trip that was supposedly a serving for two. Popi's definitely gives great bang for the money! It has been sufficient for us to take home half of each of our platters to eat at home for a meal another day, and it is all still very tasty and moist. We can hear the clattering of the knives and necessary utensils, and the sizzle of the food, to make freshly cooked fajitas. The sound and the ultimate taste is obvious. Freshly made tortilla chips are served in a basket, as well as a very nicely seasoned (mildly spicy) salsa served in a bottle with small bowls provided upon seating, and free refills of both are provided throughout. The chips are nice and light, not heavily salted, and have retained their crispiness even a couple days later at home (we place them in a sealed bowl when we get home). We can barely get bagged chips to stay crisp that long after opening a bag, so we really enjoy Popi's chips. Besides the menu on the website, they have a different special each day that is written on a marker board on the wall immediately across from the door so easily seen upon entering. One day may be enchiladas, another a burrito, and so on. Tuesday is tacos as mentioned in my previous post. As for menu items, so far we have had the Fajitas Popi's, Chicken Fajitas, Steak Fajitas, and Burritos. All have been excellent, seem to be freshly made, and would order them again. We hope to try some other items in the future but can state the fajitas and burritos are definitely good, and a great value for the money. Every once in awhile Popi has a few moments to come out to check on things. He is friendly, smiles, says hello, and is not intrusive but seems to enjoy seeing people enjoying his preparations. I hope to remember to take photos of some of these items to provide a visual of the items. Sorry, I am not a big photo person, even of myself, so my goal is to enjoy the food I am at a place for. In the meantime, if you want Mexican that is fresh and properly made, Popi's is a place to definitely consider.

You're unable to talk, you have to point to the item or items on the menu to your server so they know what you want to eat and drink. Again I was unaware of this Saturday night event and obviously certain people enjoy it and that's great but if you're coming here on a Saturday to try and to have conversation with out using sign language and pointing to items on menu because your server can't hear you then don't come here on a Saturday night. I think we got here around 6pm and he was still going at 8pm so I don't know what time he stops. The food was good. The Elvis singer in my opinion singing in a living room size room with the volume set like he was singing in a stadium not my cup of tea. Again this is just my opinion so I know not to go to this restaurant on a Saturday night.
