On Monday, the very next day, I decided to cancel after finding a better option. I made multiple attempts to cancel beforehand -- I called the store, was redirected to customer service, spoke to Bill, who told me he was off today and was told I had to speak to my salesperson, who I couldn't reach as well. Since I couldn't get help over the phone, I drove to the Norridge store in person (closer to me). At that point, I was told it was "too late" because the chairs were already on a delivery truck -- nearly 48 hours before the scheduled delivery. I was also told I would be charged a $100 delivery fee for items I never received. Customer service representative named Nate (no last name given) was completely unhelpful and inflexible, repeating policy without any effort to resolve the situation or acknowledge the circumstances. Was very dismissive and didn't acknowledge the situation at all. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my bank to initiate a dispute -- the manager in training (forgot his name) in the Norridge store was finally able to cancel the order without the fee. This proves the situation could have been handled properly from the start. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my financing provider to initiate a dispute -- an assistant manager in the store was able to fully cancel the order without penalty. This review would have been one star, but I'm giving an extra star solely because of that effort, even though they still agreed with the policy itself. The lack of communication, rigid policies, and unwillingness to assist customers is unacceptable. I will not be shopping here again and would strongly caution others before making a purchase.

We're so glad we found Plain & Simple. It took a while for our dining table and chairs to arrive due to the pandemic (ordered in Sept, got them in Feb), but the craftsmanship is absolutely stunning. It wasn't cheap, yet it was much cheaper than Pottery Barn's "farmhouse table" and chairs/benches made from veneer, which every online forum said would chip within a month. The two delivery guys who assembled everything were great. We're very happy with the experience.

He was quickly available when I had option questions. He was very patient, showed us several options and gave us ideas for what we had in mind. He quoted all the items and showed us an estimate of the total. Added all the financing options which made it very hard not make the final purchase. There was only one item we could not find, a standup desk. We decided to check out one more place before making the final decision. Unfortunately, we found all the items we needed at that last location we visited. A stand up desk was a non-negotiable for us, which Bob's did not offer. The business is clean, restrooms are well kept. They offer refreshments and snacks. I thought that was very nice. The water was very appreciated after walking back and forth.
