    A mess
    Lida D.

Although I enjoy going to Homegoods for stocking my staging business & for personal use, this particular Homegoods is chronically understaffed & often a major mess. Items are often on the floor in a hazardous manner & there are NEVER enough cashiers to serve the long lines that invariably form when I am about to check out. On top of this, several requests today to receive help with large furniture that I would have purchased went unanswered. I walked out & no one cared or noticed. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT here.

Got the scone mix from HomeGoods and I added fresh raspberries.

Located in a prime spot - next to Nuthin but Bundt cakes and close to Nordstrom Rack - you have to visit here, it's so convenient. It's also on the less trafficky side of this mall parking lot. So it's easier to get in and out of. The stuff here is well laid out and it's newer than the one on Dempster in Morton Grove. It's always a pleasure to stop in here to pick things up like scone mix and stroopwaffles. They also have a nice rug collection and art for your walls. This is certainly one of the nicer Home Goods stores.

I was shopping for a large espresso coffee pot and HAD to travel far and wide to like 6 stores between Home Goods and Marshall's. I also could not find decent kitchen aprons. It is a lot smaller than the other home goods located in downtown Chicago. On the plus side it is well organized with clearance sections in each of the major section noted with the white/red signs. Staff is friendly. Overall I would stop in here once in a while to check out if there is a good deal on home items. Pros- well organized, ample clearance sections Cons- small store But I love all the seasonal decor!! NOT liking the far and long detour we have to go through just to check out to stand in line. Please hire cashiers!! With so many EMPTY registers...I will shop online and ditch all of that!

This Home Goods is a welcome addition to our nice shopping area in Skokie. Housed in the old Party City building, the store is full of unique and beautiful home furnishings, decor and accessories. The 1st time I stopped in I was just in search of a nice gift box and I found one right away, along with some great gift ideas. I went back and easily found several items for the various people I was shopping for. The store is organized nicely and they have lovely things at the reasonable price points this chain is known for. So happy they came to Skokie!

The store has a nice and accessible location. Parking is wide and spacious. The store is not the biggest Home Goods store I visited, but it is clean and bright. Everything is also well organized. The layout is nice and every section has a sign, so everything was really easy to find. They always have a great selection for any specific item, so I kind of expected that I would buy a lot, and I really did. There is always an interesting item in every section and corner of the store, and I could not resist adding items to my cart even if I was not sure if they were going to be usable, but most of the items I get are really things that I can use on a daily basis. Prices are also fair and reasonable, so I did not waste the chance to shop as much as I could afford. I also went to the clearance section, where I found a lot of nice items. I also found this section for storage where there is a selection of baskets and other storage made of natural and earthy materials like rattan, which are really beautiful and eco-friendly. I also bought some of it because I did not have any of it. Another good thing about those products is that they come in different sizes, which I can use for different purposes. I left the store gladly because I bought a lot of good quality items. This location of Home Goods is nice.

There's a small section of baby clothes if you need to shop for a little one. I bought a beautiful ornament there, shaped like Santa with a Chicago-scape painted on the back of his robes (and was glad to get it for 40% off); if that ornament was any indication of the ones they sold at the height of holiday shopping season, they had some beautiful ornaments, too. Where they fell down (hard, IMO) was service. I wandered for about ten or more minutes looking around. There were at least three employees here (though one was in the back for at least part of my visit), and only two other parties whilst I was in here--both of whom left at least five minutes before I finished up. Not a single employee said a word to me whilst until I checked out, when one had to acknowledge me. They talked to each other... I heard them gossiping about family holiday drama... and even when they stopped chatting and parted, neither could spare a hello or anything. All this is to say that I don't expect I'll return, which won't be too difficult since I'm not in Winnetka often, but there are other shops where you can get pretty much anything that's here and you'll be treated better.

I continue to be so in love with this store. If you're into shops that will have you looking in…read moreevery single corner wanting every single thing, then this is your stop. Tonight I finished my holiday shopping for my niece and picked up a couple of beautiful gifts. The kids section contains high-quality merchandise. My hubby was literally double-parked outside, and I thought I could just run in and out, but no way. I wanted to buy the entire collection! From adorable natural cotton baby clothes to books, to stuffed animals, to toys, you will not leave empty-handed. They have something for every budget, and I think the prices are spot on for the quality. I truly admit to being completely obsessed with an adorable owl stuffed animal. Sooooo cute! Now, the best part about this store? Well, aside from the well-curated merchandise, is the owner. She's a total sweetheart and helped me pick out the perfect gift. She also gift-wrapped it in a super cute burlap bag with my choice of tissue color and a tie. Thank you...thank you. I'm so happy to see that this store is around. I need to stop in more often. Of course, not just for baby gifts, because they have grown-up goodies and cards too. Run, don't walk to this store. You won't be disappointed. Plus, it's super cute inside.

You know you have little ones at home when you pass by a new store and can't get a nursery rhyme out of your head. Yes, there's a new store in Glencoe...whoo hoo! I haven't done much shopping in town since Shirise closed their doors earlier this year (RIP), but it's fabulous to have a store where you can quickly pop in for a housewarming gift or just a little something for visiting a new baby. In the few weeks BlackSheep has been open I've stopped in twice to purchase: a) a lovely candle for the host of dinner during the jewish holidays b) a lovey for a new baby visit (the "real" gift wasn't ready quite yet) And of course I can't forget the few times my pre-schooler has dragged me in there for "just a few pieces of candy." Based on the fabulous candy display they have set up I have a feeling we'll be spending lots of time (and $) at BlackSheep. Welcome to the hood BlackSheep!
