I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Steinhafels (Schaumburg/Norridge locations). I purchased two chairs on a Sunday from Schaumburg store and scheduled delivery for the following Wednesday. On Monday, the very next day, I decided to cancel after finding a better option. I made multiple attempts to cancel beforehand -- I called the store, was redirected to customer service, spoke to Bill, who told me he was off today and was told I had to speak to my salesperson, who I couldn't reach as well. Since I couldn't get help over the phone, I drove to the Norridge store in person (closer to me). At that point, I was told it was "too late" because the chairs were already on a delivery truck -- nearly 48 hours before the scheduled delivery. I was also told I would be charged a $100 delivery fee for items I never received. Customer service representative named Nate (no last name given) was completely unhelpful and inflexible, repeating policy without any effort to resolve the situation or acknowledge the circumstances. Was very dismissive and didn't acknowledge the situation at all. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my bank to initiate a dispute -- the manager in training (forgot his name) in the Norridge store was finally able to cancel the order without the fee. This proves the situation could have been handled properly from the start. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my financing provider to initiate a dispute -- an assistant manager in the store was able to fully cancel the order without penalty. This review would have been one star, but I'm giving an extra star solely because of that effort, even though they still agreed with the policy itself. The lack of communication, rigid policies, and unwillingness to assist customers is unacceptable. I will not be shopping here again and would strongly caution others before making a purchase. read more

I bought a couch and loveseat set from here. Our salesman was very pleasant and patient with us as we explored options. Sale and setting up delivery was very easy to do. Delivery went smoothly and overall our furniture is still holding up, no issues. read more

Bought a mattress there in August. They confirmed multiple times about my delivery in mid September. On the day of the delivery, the delivery guys decided to go home as opposed to drop off my mattress. I called the next morning to find out the whereabouts of my mattress, and I got yelled at by customer service, saying that it must be my fault that I wasn't there to receive The mattress.(I wasn't told until later by the delivery manager, that the guys ditched the drop off.) I finally did get my mattress, almost a week after it was supposed to be delivered. Please be smarter than me and listen to the reviews of people telling you to steer clear of this place. In all my years of buying furniture, I have never had an experience so horrendous as this one. (I also think it's worth noting that they ask you to pay 100% upfront, which I've never been asked to do it any other furniture store in the past. ) read more

Came in here to purchase a recliner and sofa for a basement remodel. The salesrep was also very helpful. She made sure we got the lowest price and let me look around the store without pitching me the whole time. Delivery was on time, nothing was damaged other than a small hole in the sofa because of me trying to force it through the door(my fault completely). Either way, def check this place out! read more

The worst experience ever A few weeks I visited a store to buy a bedroom set. I asked for the entire set including a mirror and a floor lamp. Unfortunately the lamp I liked was out of stock, but they offered me the one from a different store. When i brought this lamp back home I have noticed the knob is missing. I had to call and come back again to pick up the part. When they delivered my bedroom set last Saturday I have noticed that the mirror is missing and this bed requires a box spring, I purposely asked the sale floor rep Adam if I need a base under the mattress because the bad frame seemed to be high. I was told its optional, and the bed also works without a box. When I called the store back to fix the issue I was told that they thought I do not need a mirror even if I said I do need the entire set. When I placed a new order for the missing mirror and the box spring they added delivery fee to it. I had reach out again and tell them that it was not my fault and the should delivery that for free. The day for the earliest delivery was schedule for this coming Wednesday, and because of my working hours I asked for the evening delivery. The next morning I have received a time frame from 1:30-3:30 when I am actually at work I called to change the time but I was told I can only reschedule for next week, I live in 2 bedroom condo and waiting for the next week for the missing part is no fun Now I have to take the day off waiting for delivery I was so happy having the store I like around the area. This is a very large store with many different items. It's very clean and the sales staff are nice. I purchased a lazy-boy reclining chair, the delivery charge was $99, which I thought was kinda steep. This store does not give any type of discount such as military/veteran discount. The delivery of the item was on the date promised and the delivery people were very professional. read more

Do not buy anything from this store. I purchased a reclining chair and had issues ever since it was delivered. The men that delivered the chair slammed it on the concrete when taking it off the truck causing all four legs to be damaged and had to be replaced. The functions on the chair would only work sometimes and each time I called for a service technician to take a look at the chair all he did was just bring a new remote which did not help at all. He never checked the motor, just changed the remote three times within ten months. I called the numerous times and asked if I can have the chair replaced but each time the answer was NO. Now that the extended warranty is in effect the chair is finally working properly and fixed by the warranty company. It is ridiculous to wait a year after my purchase to have the chair properly fixed. I will never purchase anything from this furniture store again. read more

I bought a high end power reclining sectional that the power broke within 2 weeks and because I waited 3 weeks to call because I was on vacation they choose to now stand behind it and repair it free of charge and charged be $150 service call fee. Terrible customer service and terrible quality product. Do not buy from this store. read more
