My second time going in for the peel is called the Jessner Peel and I was hella living for it because I peeled after the final step in the process of the treatment. I am so happy with the results that I have gotten thus far 100%. I will say that not everyone's face is going to peel just like mine off the bat because in reality everyone's skin is different; but I did do very specific steps to get the results I was aiming for by treating my face with Cosmedix products. I went to her consistently for brazilian and underarm treatments for over a year, and the way she workshopped with me to understand and take care of my skin was something I had never experienced with any other esthetician! I genuinely felt for the first time that information I was given actually worked. She was receptive to hearing when things didn't work, as well, and helped come up with other solutions. I've been going to Sara since I moved back to the Bay Area EIGHT YEARS AGO. She is the BEST. :) She is welcoming, easy to talk to, thorough, and prepares you for the more painful parts. She introduced me to sugaring years ago and I will never go back to traditional waxing. Good Company's location is on Post, near Hyde. I drove there and circled a bit to find parking due to nearby construction. Give yourself time to park (10-15 minutes). There seemed to be mainly metered spots in the area. The space itself is clean and has a calming ambiance. Online booking is easy. Services are also available to everyone. It seems most hair removal places cater to women only. COVID precautions: - Stay home if you are sick or exhibiting COVID symptoms or if you have been in the presence of someone who is. - Clients and aestheticians wear face coverings. - Use credit card on file to support contactless payment. - Attend appointment alone. - Arrive no more than 10 minutes early. Over the phone and upon first meeting her, Julia is so friendly and bubbly she put me right at ease. Before coming in while trying to book an appt with her, she offered me some great tips to prep for my wax. When I came in early for my appt she greeted me at her door to let me know she was finishing up on a facial on a client, and directed me to her cute waiting area. She told me to help myself to the wine she provides - total sweetheart - and had me fill out a short form about skin type. When my turn came she brought me into her studio and gave a little tour, provided me a towel, wipe, numbing spray and a pomegranate lollipop to eat so distract myself during lol. Maybe it was my crazy concoction of ibuprofen and hour earlier, a little bit of wine, numbing spray and the lollipop.... Or just Julia's pure skill. Either way my wax was 98% painless which I have never ever experienced in my last 3 years!! Julia uses different types of hard waxes and soothing oils for a less painful waxing and she will explain her methods too. She's very easy to have conversations with and takes her time! She's gentle and very thorough - this isn't the "wham-bam-thank-you-mam" type of waxing I'm usually used to. It's a bit pricey: $60 to start out and prices go down as you book more appts with her bc she'll chalk them up as "upkeep"
