And the combination with the fresh cut avocados and sour cream was delightful. I had the rice on the side and was glad I did. The rice could use some of the wonderful sauce that's in the burrito. But for the sauce of the burrito alone it gets five stars. And this is a real mom and pop shop. Both mom and popc were working their tails off in the taco truck and were delightful too. Let me start with the area where this taco is located? 2819 Esplanade, just North of Eaton Road, set off to the right hand side of Esplanade this side of DeGarmo Park. In a gated area, gravel and dirt, with plenty of parking. The place is brand new and has the appearance of cleanliness and quality presentation choices. I'm doing details so you can't miss the place. So after five times choosing to eat their food, I finally thought to help promote Tacos El Lider by writing a review. Why, because the taste is unique with taste and preparation. Most of us know the saying that you get what you pay for, but I felt like I got AMAZING value for the money. My partner got a chicken burrito ($5 special on Wednesday's as of 6/23/21, including tax!) and a can of Dr. Pepper, and I got a pastor sope and an asada grilled taco with a bottled coke. The total was $13!!! I loved the steak and pastor. My partner usually gets the steak and said he preferred the steak over chicken. All the food was really good - great flavor and tasted like the perfect balance between fresh and indulgent. They had melted cheese on the inside of the taco and burrito which I LOVE. I got mild, with a side of the spicy salsa. I preferred mild but tasted the spicy and it wasn't too much for me. However my partner warned me that it has been much spicier in the past so if you're sensitive to spice, I'd probably err on the side of caution and get it on the side. With these prices, you can't go wrong. Definitely worth a shot!

This gets me soft corn tortillas with whole beans, rice, tomato, onion, cilantro lettuce and salsa. Sliced fresh radish comes on top, and you can ask them to add pickled jalapeño to the plate. You can also have them add avocado, but the avocado is extra (which is what I expect anywhere). Plates are styrofoam, which makes me come here less than I would otherwise. It's been hard for me to find a tasty veggie taco in Chico, so I'm super happy to have found this place! Are the women who work here particularly customer service-y? Nope! I saw other people mention this in some negative reviews, but honestly, as long as the food is good, that tends not to matter to me. They take my order, take my money, and get me tasty food quickly; that's good enough for me!
