If you're rolling through Chico and looking for a place that actually lives up to the name, Burgers…read more& Brew doesn't just talk a good game... it delivers for us! From the moment you walk up, it's got that classic brick and wood feel that says you're about to eat well. Step inside and you're greeted by a wall of taps that feels like a beer lover's playground. The place hums... great music, good energy, and a staff that's clearly in rhythm with it all. We didn't mess around with the order. My daughter went with the blue cheese burger special, her boyfriend took on the bacon jalapeño burger, and I went straight for the pastrami burger. Every one of them came out looking like a culinary masterpiece. The blue cheese had that perfect balance... bold but not overpowering as they are want to be. Her boyfriend said the bacon jalapeño brought just enough heat to keep things interesting without stealing the show, probably too weak for me ;). My pastrami burger was a heavyweight... stacked, savory, and the kind of messy you don't even try to clean up until you're done. Think Katz deli melding with a west coast hip scene burger. Now let's talk onion rings... because these deserve it. Golden, crispy, and just the right crunch when you bite in. Not greasy, not soggy, just dialed in exactly how they should be. Add the garlic sauce and now you're playing a different game altogether. That sauce is not optional, it's essential and fabulous on everything. The beer selection is deep, the kind where you stand there for a minute pretending you're making a thoughtful decision when really you just want to try everything. Service was on point from start to finish. No waiting around, no chasing anyone down... just attentive, easy, and done right. Only downside, and it's not really their fault, is parking. Downtown Chico can make you work a little for it. But once you're inside, with a cold beer in hand and a burger staring you down, you won't care how far you walked. I will be back, it is well worth the money.

I'm local. I hadn't been there for probably a year. The five star reviews seem to be from OOT…read moreparents dropping their kids off at Chico State, people who wouldn't notice if a penguin took a dump in their French fries, because they're understandably absorbed in their fleeing children's every word and deed on an emotional weekend. Burgers are "meh", and my only reason for going back is that they have an ok lamb burger, which I haven't otherwise found north of Sacramento (where there are much better lamb burgers). The place is absolutely filthy. Greasy fingerprints on every surface that could possibly display them. Spill residue and trash everywhere. There's absolutely no way that my wife would eat here. She hasn't been there in years, and now would turn around and leave as soon as she saw the place. Looking around while eating, I couldn't finish my meal, and I left. And I'm pretty easy. I like dives, but not filth. I don't think that this is meant to be a dive, AND it's progressively become a s******e. And, all the while, the "manager", who didn't appear to "manage" anything, except for conversation and passing out free beer samples to his buddies at the bar (one of whom was clearly, from their banter, a fired former employee), did nothing else but gossip and bitch about higher management, while the employees also had multiple free beer samples, and stood around and chatted with each other. While the environment grew even more disgusting. Shouldn't these people be trying to at least keep the the place presentable, if not really clean? Isn't this a regional chain? I'm sure that no one from Sacramento has been here recently. I don't like to see a business fail, but this one deserves to.

Great spot! We wandered in here by accident, and what a terrific surprise! We came in through the…read morehuge covered patio/beer garden, and found our way into the incredible interior. What an amazing place - it's practically a museum! We loved the layout, the multiple bars, and the food was also on point. We came back later that evening and found they had a dancefloor upstairs with a range of drink specials. Pretty fun spot - did not expect something like this in Chico! Definitely give this spot a stop if you are in the area - it's spectacular!

But the bartenders and the staff were very nice and helpful. Came in on a Friday night and had some drinks with some friends was sad to see the specialty shots were all premade and not that great. The next day we came back for a late lunch only to discover it was prom night and super busy. Something has changed to the wings and they taste different than they used to. But they were OK. The garlic fries just had a glob of garlic on top, they were not tossed around in the garlic. That was disappointing too. A friend of ours ordered a burger with a turkey patty and it took forever to get from the kitchen. It took so long they gave us a complementary coupon for a meal in the future. When I asked why it took so long, they said all the turkey patties were frozen and it was taking too long to thaw out. I'm glad it wasn't my burger because I would've hated to know that I just ate a frozen patty. It makes me question the quality of the rest of their burgers at this point. If you have never been here, it is a must see experience. The place is huge and every room has hidden surprises. This is still a Chico staple and I will always come back when I visit.

I really liked this place. We were visiting Chico, and seeing what yelp had to say, and the…read morepub-plus-Magners-on-tap-plus-fun-looking-sandwiches made it a winner. We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.

So if I was basing they review on food alone it's an easy 4 to 4.5 stars. Service was lacking. I arrived first and took a small table in the very back corner. When the waiter came by I let them know I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in over a year and we were planning a long lunch. It was a Saturday afternoon and not busy. My guest arrived and the sever didn't come back for at least 10 min. But ok. No biggie. We ordered a soda and an iced tea. When those arrived we ordered food. My tacos came quickly and then we sat, looking at my food while we waited for the other entrée, the burger. 10 minutes later it shows up served by another server, no explanation or even acknowledgement that it took 10 minutes between me being served and my companion being served. Anyway our server was MIA for the rest of our stay. No offer of a refill for our beverages, no asking if the food was ok. Nothing. We stayed about 2 hours total and my normal policy is to double the tip because I have taken a table for about twice as long as normal. Unfortunately service was sub par. Oh and tea was incredibly strong not in a good way.
