My order here is always veggie tacos with no sour cream and no cheese -super tasty and cheap ($1.50 each)! This gets me soft corn tortillas with whole beans, rice, tomato, onion, cilantro lettuce and salsa. Sliced fresh radish comes on top, and you can ask them to add pickled jalapeño to the plate. You can also have them add avocado, but the avocado is extra (which is what I expect anywhere). Plates are styrofoam, which makes me come here less than I would otherwise. It's been hard for me to find a tasty veggie taco in Chico, so I'm super happy to have found this place! Are the women who work here particularly customer service-y? Nope! I saw other people mention this in some negative reviews, but honestly, as long as the food is good, that tends not to matter to me. Check your bank statement before leaving. I was charged $16 for 4 tacos, I went back and asked why and was told by Paloma, "you need to call your bank because they made a mistake, and that I was wrong" that was the first red flag. My bank let me know I should file a claim as they had charged me for $16..., I went back and was asked to only pay in cash in the future, as if it was my mistake, luckily that mistake won't even be made again as I will not be returning, way to go you lost a daily customer, looking for somewhere else ? So having tried several Taco trucks in Chico (ah yes, what a connoisseur I am) I like this one the best. Today was the first time I've tried Tacos El Pinolero and it didn't disappoint! I got a shredded beef burrito that was DELICIOUS, the meat was so tasty! And I got a bean/rice/cheese burrito for for my kids and it was plenty big enough for my toddlers to split. I was starving and I wanted something quick and easy, but not fast food. I eat here at least 3 times a month on my way through town. It's a great choice for a super fast and super cheap meal. Some of the girls are more friendly than others for sure, but I wouldn't be able to deal with anyone after spending 12 hours in a hot truck on my feet. This is my favorite taco truck in Chico. I have been coming here for years. We live in Paradise now but when in Chico we come here for lunch or bring home burritos for the family. The sauces are excellent. The meat is well prepared, tasty and without waste like gristle you may often find at other trucks. The portions are healthy. I just wish they were in Paradise. read more

Horrible customer service! I called in my order and when I got there to pick it up she says they don't take "phone orders" after taking mine! I tried asking how this works if we just got off the phone and she cuts me off and turns her back on me. I go to taco trucks around Chico often, and each has a "specialty". El Pinolero is carnitas tacos. Two small, soft corn tortillas filled with perfectly cooked pork, and topped with a sauce that's somewhat spicy, but tingles the taste-buds. Get a mandarin Jarritos to round out the experiece. read more

It's all about customer service and food. Not in that order but it's all it simply comes down to it. Firstly there food was okay, used fresh ingredients and tasted fine but somewhat salty. Too salty for some. Secondly, the customer service, it was terrible. The ladies in there were not very kind in mannerisms. Idk if it's just me but I like the traditional "thank you, please come again" or "please sign here" after a transaction and some simple social recognition as a customer. I come here every other month for work and every time for lunch we come here to the same result, good food and plain customer service. The food itself was particular salty last time around. This place could change from an okay average place with okay food to a great place with simple changes such as eye contact, a smile, and happy to serve customer services such as myself. Such a drag too because the ladies seem kind maybe they're shy? It's not like it was stacked there too. I'll give them another try soon, hopefully they've changed their subpar customer service. read more

Best taco truck in Chico and we've tried them all. My five year old son and I go nearly every Sunday. He gets four carne asada tacos and devours them every time. I personally mix it up. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, you literally can't go wrong. I think my favorite are the quesadillas. It's a lot more than just cheese and a tortilla. It's basically like eating a giant, ultra delicious taco. Lunch time there during the week can be a little bit of a wait but for how popular they are, and how many people go there, your food comes out quickly. Prices there are dirt cheap which is an added bonus. Would recommend this place to anybody that likes taco trucks in general. read more
