Bronze tan used to be THE place to get an airbrush tan. They aren't training these girls right anymore. This girl got so close to me instead of doing a further away mist. It was streakily running down my body and it look like someone sharted on my face. HORRIBLE. Literally looked like I was covered in diarrhea. The girl said "some ppl just streak", no, I used to get lovely even ones in Clayton all the time. Could not recommend less, glad I did a test trial before my wedding. I do not know how to reply to the comment, so I am editing my review to respond to the owners comments. I got married in December, so I did trial spray tans at multiple places throughout the months of Oct and Nov (it was actually only 2 places not 3). I was at the Brentwood Bronze Tan on Nov 26 at 9:40am. I had been busy wedding planning, so I am just now getting around to posting reviews of places. Okay so first of all I went to the wrong location but they were so nice about it and thankfully it was less than 10 minutes away. The girl at the Clayton location was like "I'll text her right now, head on over." So nice. Then I get to the Brentwood location and I believe Madison was the staff member who assisted me. I haven't gotten a spray tan in years and she was so thorough helping me decide what color and express vs not express would be best for me and my situation. She made me feel so comfortable and her instructions couldn't have been more clear, even as she was making conversation the whole time. Truly 10/10 customer service, experience and TAN ITSELF! I hardly ever get spray tans, so whenever I do get one I'm definitely out of my comfort zone. Everyone at Bronze Tan was amazing! They helped me pick out the right shade to do so I looked tan and not orange and they checked to make sure I liked how it looked before I left. I booked online and was in and out super quickly. Regarding cancelling:. I've had a 2 spray a month membership for a long time, years. It's amounts to about $23/tan. When not used, they accumulate. Due to my travel and living downtown, I wanted to cancel. it's so much easier to have my painter husband spray me at home. I called and they said you have to cancel in person. OF COURSE. I finally made it in and low and behold, I have 10 tans on my account. When can you use those up? I mean, you've paid for them already. Well, you have until the end of that membership month, so maybe a few days, maybe a few weeks! I did not get this impression from the person on the phone. I thought I had months to use them. With my travel schedule, it's impossible to use all these in two weeks. So, be careful. You accumulate tans but then lose them when you cancel. I'm going to say goodbye to about 9 x $23 = over $200. Enjoy my money! Response from comment: I get that we sign a form. The circumstances at the point of signing are likely very different than what they are years later. And really, remembering that detail is not likely. Allow people to cancel over the phone! I didn't sign anything, it just cancelled. It could happen over the phone. And the employees should be able to communicate this tid-bit about losing tans over the phone, as well. read more

Sadly I'm no longer a customer. I had been for several years. The owner seems to care more about the Clayton location while the Brentwood location languishes. It appears that the beds are not maintained as they should be. I feel like the bulbs are weak. Adding insult to injury, they've recently added red light therapy - but only for the Clayton location and they want to charge $150 a month for it. This is egregious! Mostly great people at the front desk though. read more

I feel like most tanning places take every opportunity they can to try and get money out of you with the lotion, eye wear, over pricing single tan sessions, locking you into memberships you can't get out of, etc (my most recent experience at Palm Beach Tan ) BUT this place isn't like that! They offer reasonable prices, friendly staff, don't try and corner you into paying $20 bucks for a stupid packet of lotion. They have a great membership option, I pay $45/month for unlimited tans and cheap upgrades. Totally get my moneys worth as a single tan at PB tan is almost $50 and said I could only go half the time since it was my first time at that location. Yeah, no thanks. This place allows you to pause your membership during months you know you won't be In and make it super easy to pause and continue as needed! The owner or manager (not sure) seems nice and friendly and very involved in the location and keeping it run well! Highly recommend!! (Only wish they were open earlier during the week ) read more

Went in for the first time today (Brentwood location) for a last minute tan before traveling to Antarctica for 6 months! The ladies were so helpful and made me feel so comfortable! I travel 5 days a week and have to tan so when I go home to Florida I can survive the weekends. I use Yelp to only find top notch places and Yelp was spot on with this tanning salon. I told myself I'd cancel my membership after 3 months... that was over a year ago! The costumer service, cleanliness, and overall great quality and atmosphere keep me coming back. Bronze Tan offered a student discount when I first started, and explained different memberships levels in detail. The front desk person is always helpful and knowledgeable. The only problem I ever had was a couple of months after I started, they switched computer systems (or something like that) and my payment method was not switched over to the new system. This allowed my monthly membership to go unpaid for several months. The manager (I wish I got his name) was incredibly friendly and super helpful with the situation. He went above and beyond and told me that I don't have to worry about the payment since it wasn't switched over. He really didn't have to do that! Best costumer service I'd ever received. They also make freezing my membership incredibly easy. I rarely leave reviews, but I have been a member at Bronze Tan and have never had a bad experience. read more

I was a member of Bronze Tan last year for 7 or 8 months, and when I canceled I had 5 spray tans still on my account, I ask the girl working if I could still use them, she said Yes they would stay in the computer on my account. Today I went in, I had tried calling for over 2 hours! I got nothing but a busy signal! To see when they were the least busy. To be told my tans were not available! Poof! Gone! That the kind of account I had didn't roll over Greeeeaaat! I found this place on yelp and decided to check out their website...the beds looked new and the pictures of the inside were nice and spa-like(a little different than the tanning salons Ive been to before). I used a new customer coupon from their site and got 2 free tans in any bed. I've never been in a nicer bed than what they put me in on my first visit! They explained that I would go in a bed that is mostly UVA which they said was the bronzing ray...I was super dark(for me!) after my two sessions. I will go back here once it starts getting a bit warmer out. The inside is really nice and very clean...the staff was older and more knowledgeable than the salons I went to in college too. read more

I absolutely loved my natural looking spray tan from Bronze Tan St. Louis. I was really nervous since I'm a women of color and this was my first spray tan session. The front desk staff at the Brentwood location made everything simple and very easy for me. I felt more sexy and confident to bare more skin for my upcoming vacation. I don't usually give businesses 5 stars, but this one was a must. The beds are great here because they aren't cheap/won't burn you every time you tan. The environment is warm, clean, inviting and tasteful. The specials are always pretty good for the value you get from tanning here and don't conflict with one another. First-time customers get three free tans and a tour of the salon form one of their friendly staff. Existing customers get $5 credit on their account for ever new customer they refer. And trust me, you will want to refer people after tanning here. The hours of operation are pretty convenient and make it possible for most anyone to tan during the day before they close. Best of all, the customer service is better than any tanning salon I've been to. As they state on their website: "You'll never want to tan anywhere else." I've found that to be true. I love Beach House Bronze Tan just fyi- I don't use tanning beds, I only spray tans so can't comment on quality of beds I originally came in for a Groupon when I moved here but now am a loyal customer. They always have samples of their products on the front desk and great specials regularly. The girls are super sweet and there's not a wait very often, if ever. I purchased the year-long unlimited spray tan package so I don't have to worrry about it.. I go about once a week I took away a star because the spray tan instructional poster in the rooms say you get 4 dry-passes after your first spray but you only get 2! lol it sounds stupid but the tan does not last as long if you are not dry before your second spray. This place is your typical tanning salon and I am sorry I will be biased because I have been spoiled with CA Sun Centers back home and have not found anything close in comparison. This place is close to home which is nice. The people are very friendly and very helpful. The environment is clean and pretty much your typical tanning salon. I have not been in all the beds but one level 2 bed I went in was a bit janky. Not all the buttons were working and one of the bulbs were flickering and needed to be replaced. I feel like if a bulb is about to die they shouldn't have the bed be used. The prices are a bit on the higher end to what I am used too. I wish they had a wider variety and more beds. My only and biggest peeve is this place tries to sell you membership and bundle packages all the time!! All in all this place is okay. I am still going to come here because Its the closest one to home and can't stand looking pale. MO needs Sun Centers ASAP!! read more

Pretty great place. Friendly involved staff, lots of social media promotions,and deal-of-the-day type things. Clean, mostly well kept and updated beds. They were quick to rectify my friends package without her having to ask when one of the beds was sold. They were pricier than I was used to but it seems even cheaper salons are increasing their prices for a lower quality experience so I can deal. So far staff has been friendly and not pushed me to buy every product they offer, they simply answer questions and suggest things based on my curiosity. Owner should be proud of his business and his staff, they are lovely. My only complaint is that they need more space/ locations for more beds. This place is popular and sometimes I have to wait for everyone's favorite bed (OpenSun is awesome!). I would like to shake the owner's hand for such a nice experience and business. My next visit, I will be looking into a membership. read more

Beach House Bronze has affordable prices, a convenient location, friendly staff members, and a variety of clean tanning beds. I like to stop at Beach House Bronze on my lunch break because I know that there is rarely a wait on beds and I can be in and out in less than 20 minutes. This location also has a great selection of tanning lotions and moisturizing products that are not over priced and help to enhance the tanning experience! The place I used to go to, closed. BHB happened to be right across the street from my old place. The girls that work there are very friendly, they have watermelon jolly ranchers for the guests (the best flavor of course), and the facility is clean. They also offer a free spray tan to first timers which is great. They do not offer any primers, I wish they did, although I think I saw on their IG recently they may now offer primers but can't say for sure. I wish the rooms had mirrors in them though. BEWARE!!!!!! Went here for a spray tan and the environment was totally unwelcoming and uncomfortable. The girl at the front desk was super unfriendly and lacked any professionalism whatsoever. The girl who sprayed me was robotic and it seemed like I was inconveniencing her. Getting sprayed is already a vulnerable experience and the uncomfortable environment made it that much worse. The tan was rushed. When I went to pay the first thing asked was "are you going to tip?" very strange. Caught off guard, I said no (I was totally unhappy with my experience - why would I tip?!). She gave me a really dirty look and basically was done talking to me after that. I left the salon feeling very sad and unsatisfied and it started to rain so I got drops on me. I would have gone right back in but I didn't feel comfortable to do so. I was leaving town the next day and going to a wedding. I ended up calling the Clayton location and the girl I spoke to was super helpful. The next day I spoke to Eric the manager and he did apologize but then basically justified the girls actions. He said he watched a tape of the interaction and didn't see anything wrong. Even said they seemed friendly. LOL. He had an excuse for basically everything I said. For example, the front desk girl is just shy.... This is sad and totally unacceptable for a manager to respond this way to someone who's had an upsetting experience at their establishment. Totally invalidating. Manager 101 - listen to the customer. Don't excuse unacceptable behavior. He offered a refund - it wasn't about the money. If he thinks that is acceptable behavior, he's on another planet. I've never written a review for something in my life but I don't want anyone else to experience this. Also, to top it all off, the tan is orange and splotchy. Please please save yourself this horrible experience. It's not worth it. read more

The prices are comparable with other tanning salons around town but BHB has nicer beds and facilities (no brainier). Started tanning here in 2011 and refuse to go anywhere else. The best tanning salon in St Louis, hand down. I've been tanning on a regular basis since high school - either in the bed or spray, so I've been to more than my fair share of tanning salons across the country. The staff here makes the entire process seamless from the moment you walk in the door (whether you are a beginner or experienced tanner) and they are incredibly professional. They are knowledgeable about the products they sell as well as the best bed or level to achieve your desired results. They also do a great job of ensuring the entire salon is clean from top to bottom. I've never left with anything other than a smile on my face. I'm a big fan of the spray tan booths and solutions they use as well as Beds 1 and 2. My friends and I stop by for a "cocktail" (regular tan + spray tan) before the weekend or just when we need a little bronze. Highly recommend - you won't be disappointed! read more
