I was so hesitant to come to here being im a pretty shy person , and let me tell you the coaches there are some of the nicest people I have ever met there so welcoming and suprisenly I don't feel timid and shy I love this place so much ! My husband comes and watches me and he decided to join because the coaches are just so warm and inviting ... Now as far as training I'm not a nube when it comes to cardio or working out and let me tell you I have never sweated so much in my life I been coming to brood 9 approximately 3 wks and I already can see a difference in my body and I come Tuesday-Friday. Leighton brought me and my friend to a kickboxing class on a Saturday and we had so much fun! The instructors are very helpful by breaking down all the steps and fundamentals for the more difficult moves. Even though it was a more difficult class, the instructors stayed attentive in giving pointers to me and my friend since we were noobs. I have a busy schedule and can really only go to classes on the weekends so this school was perfect for my needs. Tony knows his stuff and is very patient and good about teaching you what you dont and should know. Also correcting what you think you know but you dont (like the stuff you see on TV). His class goes all the way from novice to advanced techniques. So there is always soemthing for everyone in the class. He just got a new studio and has open house classes, check it out if you want to train for fun or for sport. read more

My sis-in-law recently lost some weight and she told me she'd been taking Tony's boot camp class. Naturally, I had to enroll too. I've been taking the class for 3 months, twice a week and I've already lost almost 15 pounds! You know how when you start to lose weight, you're motivated to eat better and work out more? That's what happened for me. It's hard to get up early to get to class, and Tony kicks our butts for the entire hour, but when I'm done, I always feel great . I feel strong and young again and I love it! They offer other classes, but I haven't tried anything else yet. (As an added bonus, there are a couple cute boys taking the class too. ;) ) read more

Been training here since 2010 and I LOVE the environment. Great people, great instruction, great and CLEAN location in Lomita. Highly recommended. There are plenty of classes to choose from including Muay Thai, MMA striking, BJJ, NoGi Grappling, Sparring Classes, and plenty of conditioning classes. Conditioning classes usually last about an hour and include body weight exercises, kettlebells (with proper instruction), and sprint workouts or Hurricanes. read more

I always wanted to learn self defense. Found Brood 9 on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The tuition is very fair. Coach Anthony is quite experienced in variety of sports disciplines, yet humble and patient to a complete beginner like myself. Coach Marlene is also amazing. They're so supportive and encouraging. I started 2016 doing personal training session with Tony at Brood 9. The gym itself is easy to get to, no hassle parking, and very clean. But Tony....He is the best! He's extremely knowledgable, very patient, and super encouraging. Every workout is different and tailored specifically to my fitness goals, so I love going in there and never knowing what to expect other than I know it will effective and fun. Tony is very down to business when explaining the exercises, making sure my form is on point, and that we are accomplishing everything he has planned for my workout that day. Every time I arrive the equipment is always set out and ready to go. But at the same time he has a great sense of humor, making me laugh in between my sets. I've been at Brood9 gym for about 7 months and I absolutely love this place. I've trained at 2 other MMA gyms before I came to Brood9, and I can confidently say that the coaches at this gym are WAY more personable and encouraging. They know what level you are at by watching you the first few days and letting you know what you need to improve on. When I joined, coach Anthony (Muay Thai coach) and coach Dimitri (Grappling coach) were super friendly! I was honestly very nervous to walk into to the gym as a skinny weak kid that would be judged by coaches and members, but I was absolutely proved wrong. All the members were very welcoming and helpful, and the coaches were amazingly nice and willing to help me on anything I didn't know.
