This is my daily gym. I am not sure if this brand is comfortable calling itself a budget-friendly gym, but I see that way. I use this gym because it is my escape from my day of toil and upset, or at least I try to make it my escape, my self-care, but sometimes the noise of the day is not lessened by the noise of the gym. Regardless, this gym is a good choice to make on the daily, most exercise is exactly that- a choice for your health, that belongs to the body, mind and spirit. The above is the truth of why I love this place. It is a place with iron, and equipment to make you sweat-- even just enough for you to claim a workout handled and crushed. And when I pair the iron with my beats, the day is mine to elevate. But that is how I chose to view this place. If you were to assess this place objectively then it has bumps, sores and blisters to address. Chief amongst these, in my personal opinion, is the unkempt nature of the bathroom. Every time I go inside I brace myself for I might suffer an odor of bodily fluids dispensed. On rare occasion, the odor is a stench. And the stench is fierce enough to not be ignored, not so fierce that is offensive. The gym also has its basic problems. You go there after work, and it is packed. You cannot find the weights you need, and you do if you are lucky. But that is the burden of going to a gym that is not yours, or that costs a lot to join. So it is the responsibility of gym goers to be flexible and be opened to changing their workouts so they can find the equipment that they need but maybe not the equipment that they had hoped for. The staff here is friendly enough, but does not take its job super seriously. However, I have never had any friction with the staff. They are supportive, they are there when needed and carry out most tasks to a competent level-- I mean this gym can be worse. This one time I left my gyms in a cup holder of a treadmill. I asked one of the staff members to get them for me as someone was already using the treadmill. I know it sounds like a lot because I could have asked the guy myself, or just snatched the keys myself, but I remember that in today's world people kill over principle, and people kill over misunderstanding over chicken sandwiches and house renovations gone wrong. I can see myself being punched for interrupting someones workout. It is a small chance of that happening, but I did not want to approach someone in a treadmill and snatch my keys from a cupholder. He might have wondered why I snatched and responded with fists. Yes, I know this scenario is not likely to happen, I will admit that. But I have seen people fight over equipment at this gym. I have been intimidated to give up equipment at this gym. So to play it safe I asked for support and received it which makes the people of this place attentive and courteous just not super developed in their professionalism journey. But there is time for that. On a positive note one day I wrote this email to a district manager after a planet fitness employee came to my aid: I am writing this email to happily sing Jimiah Henderson's praises. The Planet Fitness corporation should be aware of the fabulous employee it has amongst its ranks. Yesterday (on my leg day) I was using a Smith Machine. After doing my squats and my Romanian DeadLifts, I began doing hip thrusts. A gentleman came and asked me to take the bench of the Smith Machine, and move it to the side because he and his friend wanted to use the Smith Machine, and I was not using the Smith Machine for its intended purpose. I am not the type of person who engages in conflict so I begrudgingly agreed. So I went to the weights section and began different forms of squats. But my frustration got the best of me. I went to the counter and asked to speak to the manager. I wanted to learn about your policy first. Perhaps I was using the Smith Machine incorrectly and the gentleman had the right to ask me to move. Jimiah, explained the policy. The gentleman had no right to ask me to move, I had the machine, there was no time limit attached to it and he could have waited for me to be done. I asked her to speak with him, to inform him of these policies. She agreed. However, Jimiah had the presence of mind to ask me to let her speak to him first, without me. This is an admirable moment, as Jimiah was going to deliver my message without escalating the situation. We did not find him the first time around. I spotted him, and bothered her to talk to him, now that I had found him. She went to speak with him. I am not sure what happened between their interaction, however, she asked the gentleman to leave, as he was being rude to her. I felt relief as he walked through the doors, to his exit. A safe space does not need bullys. Not even a little, not even at all. I took the time to write this email, because Jimiah protected, not only my well-being, but also made the Carson Planet Fitness at the Carson TownCenter a welcoming place for me. read more

It's always over packed makes me wonder what the max number of people that can even be in the gym at one time is. I had certain expectations for a gym, but encountering unmotivated staff wasn't one of them--especially in an environment that's supposed to be filled with motivation. On Sunday, January 12, 2025, I accidentally dropped my AirPod in the leg press machine. When I asked for assistance, the gentleman who helped me genuinely tried but couldn't retrieve it. He made a report, noted my name and number, and told me it would be addressed by the maintenance team, promising I would receive a call the next day. The following afternoon--Monday the 13th--I called for an update at 1 PM. The woman who answered informed me that maintenance had checked that morning but found nothing. Meanwhile, I was able to track my AirPod, which was saying ut was there. She mentioned i did not receive a call because there was no record of my name or number, which left me quite frustrated. When I arrived later that night, I was greeted warmly by the overnight staff, Bryson and Anthony. They were incredibly helpful. I explained the situation to them, including the mix-up with the incident report. To my surprise, Bryson was able to pull the form right out of the binder! Anthony then kindly walked me to the leg press machine, skillfully detached the cover, and retrieved my AirPod for me. A huge thank you to Bryson and Anthony! I have no idea why this gym has low ratings, but I like it. It's the cleanest one I've been to - which matters a lot to me these days. People actually clean the equipment and there isn't a weird stench. My sense of smell is similar to a dog's so I'm sensitive. Other than that I usually go during non peak hours so it's not really crowded. I did go after 5 PM a few times and it's way too busy. The staff is friendly. I like the hydro massages - I do it once a week. And super close to my house so I'll keep coming back! read more

They put the stair masters so close to each other you could literally patty cake with stranger next to you. I was a member for about two years. I had a great time with my personal journey, I achieved some goals in this gym. Unfortunately, I cancelled membership last month for a few reasons. For the last 30 days of my membership, they had removed a lot of equipment, machines, and half of the gym was empty and disorganized. I don't know what happened, there was maybe one paper flyer that said "Sorry, under construction." Missing half of the gym equipment declined the quality of my experience by a lot. Like mentioned, I attended this gym regularly over the course of a year and a half. The staff always seemed miserable or not working. Dumbells were always all over the gym. When doing hip thrusts on the ground, the floors were not as clean as other gyms I have been to with bits of wrappers and hair where I worked out. There were regulars, like myself, but I NEVER had a community. I could see past missing equipment and trash, but what made me cancel was the fact that over the past 2 years the staff and members were dry. I liked my time here because of the distance, it was close to my house and day-to-day route. But I have switched gyms and noticed the IMMEDIATE difference of attitude, environment, and overall quality of the staff and gym. This isn't the case here - TRUST the reviews, there's truth in the negative streak of reviews with this location. It really is amazing how much people are willing to tolerate being harassed, but we all deal with it because it's more convenient to not do anything than to find a better situation. Especially when you're getting away with paying 10 or 20 bucks per month for a gym in the age of inflation, you should expect much when you're cheap. TRUST the reviews this place has. I personally like this gym. It's clean especially the bathrooms (womens - always smells clean). They have sanitizing stations in the workout areas, I believe there are 6 so you can wipe down your machines before and after. It's a big facility and have a variety of weights and assisted machines. I like that the machines are based off of weights vs. resistance bands. I also notice that if any machine is broken/ripped that it is usually repaired by the next week. Free weights are usually put back in it's designated places. Free Wifi, good a/c + fan and lots of tv's. Also good lighting (meaning that it doesn't look like a dungeon or drabby) It does get quite crowded when it's rush hour. I have toured other gyms near by and this one ranks higher than the rest, for me. read more

Brand spanking new with that new machine smell. So much more spacious than both the Lomita and Torrance locations. PF learned and laid out a better floor plan. There's a ton of parking and after Kmart finally closed down after holding on for dear life, this is a great choice for a location. The staff is still learning but friendly none the less. Really, the only thing they don't have is a pool which I've NEVER used in any other gyms. Welp... I pulled the trigger and signed up! $0.25 for sign up fee, $21.99/month and a $39 annual fee. So we got seated and the chairs didn't work, so i approached the counter, the rep was very passive aggressive and accused me of not waiting for a rep to assign me a chair. This is one of the larger gyms but it gets busy super fast so the machines will be occupied in larger times. The app crowd meter doesn't really help if there are guests or people are there for a long period of time as I believe the meter just assumes the average workout time per person. There have been a few machines that doesnt work and one per machine once you get to the weighted machines. The dumbbells are usually pretty crowded and along the wall so there isn't too much room. The changing rooms and shower rooms are fine. There are plenty of lockers around. The staff is pretty off-hands. They just stand around at the front desk. No rounds or nothing read more

First, I just want to say that if there was zero stars, I would definitely give this. Is there a star instead of a one star but in order to do a review, you have to give it a star. So basically I pay $25 a month for the premium membership where you can go to any planet fitness do you have access to different things So we went in tonight me and my son to work out and for the past two or three days we've been going to work out and we've been also using the hydro-massage bed me and my son even though hes under a guest for my account . Up until this point, no one has said anything to us about only the account holder is the only one thats able to use the hydro-massage bed. I am a manager so I understand that there is policies and procedures I get it but again and this business and any retail business it's all about Customer Service and how you get the point across to the guest or a client or customer it's not what you say it's how you say it!!! so tonight, Olga she said she was a lead, which is like a Supervisor I had a question for her which was am I able to scan my phone to use the Hydro bed at the same time as my son which my son is 16 years old obviously he's not gonna have his own gym membership because he's 16. He's still a minor and he doesn't work so at that point, she said that only the account holder can use those facilities I replied, very respectfully. OK can you just let my son go in place of me them this time. So after I replied that I walked into where the Hydro massage bed was and let my son lay down on the bed instead of me, and I waited for him on the sofa. I believe it was about maybe 5 to 10 minutes later I'm still sitting there and we're still waiting for him to get the massage bed going come to find out that when I went back out like 10 minutes later, sitting there like an idiot, she had stopped the bed from working because she let me know if I wasn't gonna sit in the bed then my son's not allowed. Again I get those policies and procedures I understand all that I am a manager like I said earlier but it's about Customer Service and it would've only been this time and I did let her know that and she still proceeded to stop the bed from working without letting me know, she did say to me after I confronted her that she did let me know, but I didn't hear her. As a supervisor or a lead, you need to be able to communicate to that client, Guest or Customer what you're about to do which is not allow my son to experience the Hydro massage bed tomigjt . If I would've known that was going to happen, and she was not going to allow him to experience that I would've waited in the sofa area 10 minutes we would've just left again Olga as a lead, which is close to a supervisor if not a supervisor has the autonomy and authority to do the right thing maybe and give great customer service but then it's how you get that message across to the customer it's not what you say it's how you say it and I didn't appreciate any of that tonight and again I pay $25 a month and I probably go to her three times a month if that I've been going lately because we're trying to get healthy. Communication is key in this situation or any situation dealing with a customer if you're not able to communicate to the customer and make them understand and be respectful while doing that then maybe Olga needs a class on interacting with the public and some communication skills. So I think I'm being picked on. Ever since I got here there has been drama non stop for today. You would think after talking to someone four times you would be nice yourself there's not too much I'm willing to give. I just need to know why you're not telling me anything else about the place but these rules. I guess you could say I only had the black membership for about two hours. I went to change the Home location. They have a real big issue in Carson and I think it's delusional. I haven't spoken to anyone yet and so far I'm just feeling like they start picking on people. The gym is new and I'm not interested in character I just need to do my thing. Yesterday they were asking me if I had stuff in the lockers. Why? Everything I do is wrong or not on time. Please and honestly stop picking on me. I'm pretty sure this girl was in here telling some other person about my business how I could not afford to pay and I was not sure what's going on because they were not checking me in I am totally new over here I just scanned my day pass and walked away. This guy in a friend said he told the girl to come into the bathroom and told me I did not pay it was trying to leave. It was just rude honestly I give it a zero star for convenience and customer service. I paid for the membership and they came back and told me maybe one hour later that I need to get out of the stall. Anyway I'm about to get frustrated with myself. I don't want anyone picking on me consistently. After I figured out what was going on I took a long shower I don't need to explain myself I'm just feeling irritated. I would complain because they are annoying me and they are telling other customers that they are afraid of me and what should I do next and this is crap I just honestly don't expect and this girl has no filter I think she was telling me I have to hit the road. I am just not OK with this service. I come after work so personally I am tired and they are going to personally annoy me I am going to write to corporate. Unfortunately I can't recommend this location, Last night I got car jacked , they took som stuff from my car, I followed up a police report, they have security guard for parking lot, and no body saw nothing, so after police left I stayed about an hour in the parking and I didn't see any security guard patrolling the parking lot, unfortunately they're not doing their job, so just wanted to warn the people about this and it can happen again because the security guards are not doing their job, the most concerned is my car was parked just 7 cars away from front entrance of the gym . My concern is about nobody else get the same experience, and you guys have to talk to security guard company, I stayed in the parking lot and no security guard after police left more then one hour I was watching in the parking lot. read more

This location over charged my husband and my account in August and September. We brought it to the stores aattention many times and got no help. We were told by the day shift that they were having account issues. Finally after many attempattempts we talked to Rhamad Green the manager. We showed him on our phone bank records and that wasn't enough he made us go get print outs of our statements. We brought them back and on September 30th he said 7 days and it will be sent back to your account. Weeks went by we called and he avoided our phone calls, the day crew always makes excuses why he can't come to the phone and talk. The night crew are amazing. Tanya, Dually, and Pedro go out of there way to help me out. They logged my complaints in the llog book and always helped me to the best of there ability . I've come in upset and they have been nothing but kind to me. They need to be recognized for there leadership quaqualities. Yesterday was the final draw for me. I called and the ride employee hung up on me three times and wouldn't let me speak to a manger. I'm fed up with this I want the money they took out of our account put back in real simple. So I've been going to this gym for about few months now. It's one of the larger planet fitnesses. The managers are pleasant and professional. Just don't leave your backpack on the floor it's a gym rule. Also the staff is always smiling very welcoming and helpful. Anytime I need information or assistance they are quick to help. Also the trainer is very knowledgeable, patient and positive. The bathrooms are usually clean. Most of the machines I've used work. And when I let them know I had an issue with one or two equipment it was repaired the next week. So overall I'd say this is one of the best planet fitnesses I've visited and I've been to 3 others. I usually go earlier in the day Monday - Friday it's not usually crowded. I never go on the weekend or night so I'm not sure how it is then. The men and women at this gym have been polite to me. People seem to mind their business. I notice a lot of regulars there aren't any homeless people hanging out in front asking for change so that's nice I'm able to sit down and read outside in the morning time comfortably while I drink my coffee and mental prepare before starting. The new hydro massage chairs are way better than the old ones. read more
