He was flippant and ignored the fact my loved one needed speech therapy for swallowing even though we chose this location for this specific need. No one ever did speech therapy the 23 days my loved one was there which made his swallow issues worsen and lose weight due to lack of eating. The head of nursing was rude and ignored concerns. My loved one failed swallow testing and still she was covering for the nurse one day and brought my loved one pills to swallow and one got stuck and after that he refused to eat or drink even though we had started to make progress. My loved one ended up with a pretty severe uti due to lack of changing him and I had to push for testing to prove this was going on. They were dehydrating him significantly with 3 different types of stool softeners. We had to request Iv hydration due to how dehydrated he was. My loved one ended up with bruises on his toes from pushing against the bed as they are horrible cheap beds that aren't long enough for taller residents. If you are considering this facility go on the weekends. The place reeks of urine and fecal matter because the one wonderful cleaner they have doesn't work weekends. Also, request a camera in the room so you can verify care for your loved one no matter what facility you choose. My loved one was never taken out of his room to socialize or take to the lunch room. He was left in his room alone. Getting older is hard. Our loved ones deserve respect, nurturing and healing. Do better.

There were several HIPPA laws broken, because some of the nurses and/or staff like to discuss patients information with each other, instead of trying to make it out of a better situation for the in stay patient. He is patient, diligent, and informed, explaining parts of the long term care industry I didn't know exists. He knows who owns and manages, how long they have been there (turnover), insurance, and all the particulars -and then some. He has information you don't even know you need. If you are wondering whether you should work with him, just call him him and get started. I promise you will be happy with the results. Long Version: After reviewing Yelp and other organizations reviews, I decided on 2 companies. Syed called immediately and I never spoke to the other. The first time we spoke, he was driving and it was 6 PM. I knew it was after business hours so I expected we would talk the next day. He said, "no, just give me a minute and let me pull over on the side of the road; I will call you back". We spoke for 45-60 minutes. That says a whole lot about him. And, in the end, he enhanced my ability to make decision immeasurably and made my life bearable. I work full time and while managing my parent's affairs. I'm knowledgeable, selective and very detailed. And in a different state- so this was not a small accomplishment on his part. I had a cousin in Houston on the ground helping to choose the placement. Syed worked with us both. He continued to respond quickly every time. And when he wasn't available, he scheduled an appointment for us in the next day. Living in a different state while trying to find a new placement for my mother is beyond stressful. I found out the hard way about assisted living and memory care facilites. Only six months after placing my mom, we had to move her-and Syed knew why before I said it. All I had to say was where she was and he finished the rest. If i had worked with him to begin with, she wouldn't have been there. I had a placement specialist in my home state and though really good, she didn't offer the specialty and training that Syed offers. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I thought I'd done a whole lot of research on dementia etc. and the industry but Syed took it to a whole new level. Whew! by the way, It is imperative to know someone who is neutral who could help me make an informed decision. These places are not cheap-It's expensive to move them in. Moving them a second time... Out of three top choices based on my mom's needs, I made a decision. I flew into town to move her and she got COVID so they couldn't take her. Then, after visiting my choice (twice) I decided I wanted to place her somewhere else. So we began again. Syed didn't flinch. He helped me to compare my second and third choice: he knew the managers, he had clients there, he knew the history of the organizations distinguishing between the privately owned and the corporate, the long term management teams and the newly formed, whether nutritionist prepared meals or a cook a formal background. He knew the nurse in charge of initial assessments, medications, and who managed the caregivers. I decided on the 3rd choice. She is happy and having a great time. It's a great fit for her. And if or when there comes a time when it no longer serves her needs, I'll be calling Syed. You should too!

I have been under their care from week 9 to week 33 of my pregnancy and I tell you, I just want my child to be born so I dont EVER have to ever have anything to do with Houston Methodist Willowbrook. Im too far along to be accepted into a new practice for my birth and that is the only reason why I am still here. They "overlook" small details that, prevents insurance coverage and you find out after the fact or , like me , at 33 weeks, when its too late to transfer care to another provider.
