A few of…read morethe nurses were great and majority of CNAs were wonderful however again severely understaffed. The therapy team were kind except the head guy. He was flippant and ignored the fact my loved one needed speech therapy for swallowing even though we chose this location for this specific need. No one ever did speech therapy the 23 days my loved one was there which made his swallow issues worsen and lose weight due to lack of eating. The head of nursing was rude and ignored concerns. My loved one failed swallow testing and still she was covering for the nurse one day and brought my loved one pills to swallow and one got stuck and after that he refused to eat or drink even though we had started to make progress. My loved one ended up with a pretty severe uti due to lack of changing him and I had to push for testing to prove this was going on. They were dehydrating him significantly with 3 different types of stool softeners. We had to request Iv hydration due to how dehydrated he was. My loved one ended up with bruises on his toes from pushing against the bed as they are horrible cheap beds that aren't long enough for taller residents. If you are considering this facility go on the weekends. The place reeks of urine and fecal matter because the one wonderful cleaner they have doesn't work weekends. Also, request a camera in the room so you can verify care for your loved one no matter what facility you choose. My loved one was never taken out of his room to socialize or take to the lunch room. He was left in his room alone. Getting older is hard. Our loved ones deserve respect, nurturing and healing. Do better.

In Oct 2022 we asked again, when will you replace it! They said we don't have the supplies to fix it. Eventually mold grew on our drywall in our closet which is right behind the washer! In March2023 close to the end of our lease. The fire sprinkler went off on our patio! No one investigated why. Some water came into our place. The maintenance came in quickly and dry vac and we mopped up the rest. No damage! The day prior my wife discovered the mold on the closet wall when she moved some things away from the wall, she did not report it yet. She told the Maintenace when they came to lay a new floor! Yep, a new floor! Why? they told us that they can do it now cause the insurance will cover it. Because of the little flood from the sprinkler! They fixed the moldy dry wall the next day! Great! Until the property manager blamed us for damage ( yes, it was pre existing)! Claiming that the fire sprinkler caused all the damage and it was our fault! She gave us 15 days to move out! DO NOT RENT HERE!

I sent the apt complex an email the night I moved in because they were close by the time my plane landed and I got settled. My things from my previous state did not arrive until 10/11. So clearly the bugs did not come with me. I had 3 refrigerator replacements in 3 months and my refrigerator was still broken when I moved 09/27/24. When I informed the office that my refrigerator was still broken after the 3rd replacement I was advised there are a lot of residents refrigerator with the same issue they just deal with it. Hence never being fixed. I had the inspector people out quite often on Thursdays . They advised me my drains needed to be cleaned and that was why my gnat problem was so bad. Drains were never changed or cleaned. I had blonde hair in my master bedroom shower coming out of the drain. I am a black female with black hair. My toilets flooded/backed up at least 4 times while I was there. I was told it was not an emergency because I have two. Don't I pay for 2? I had a neighbor who was an absolutely nuance to all the neighbors. Walking up and down the hallway screaming and cursing. The police stayed next door to me on a regular. I have video footage. The office was so incompetent when they evicted him they forgot to evict him from his garages. 3 of which I might add he had. So then he lived out of his gargages! I had so many problems with my apart that instead of just fixing the issues they agreed to let me out of my lease early. I didn't want to move I had to move. I paid over a 1000 in vet bills because my cat stayed ill from the gnats getting in his food and water. My allergies were through the roof. They were so bad in November of 23 when my family flew in to visit me they were so grossed out because they could literally see the gnats landing on there food. I tried everything I purchased devices for to catch the gnats, bleach baking powder. You name it I tried it! Towards my move out I started getting ants. One day I came home from work ants were all over my dresser in my bedroom and couch in the living room all on the same side of room but different rooms coming from outside where the caulking/paint was cracking. I gave notice 08/15 for a move out at the latest 10/15. Moved 09/27 because I had to. Did a walk thu on 09/29 was told I was fine. Still paid until 10/15 because they told me I had to. 10/07 final pmt was made that they gave me. On 10/21 I was sent a statement subtracting my deposit for a cleaning fee and normal wear and tear from picture hanging. First of all since I paid the final bill that they told me I should not have received another water bill/etc in an apt that I no longer had keys to effective 09/19. Secondly if the apt was not cleaned or repairs needed to be made I should of been notified during the walk thru especially since I would of had time to fix or clean anything since I was still responsible until 10/15. This apt complex has had several staff members since I have lived there in a year. The staff is incompetent and has nasty attitudes. I have never lived in a community with such low professionalism in my life. I have so many emails, invoices, pictures, videos etc of everything I endured while living in this community. I have always had and maintained a beautiful home I am a complete neat freak! I could not take it. I had no plans of moving again in a year or less being I am new to Texas. But I had no choice. I paid my rent every money on time... In fact my rent stayed on auto pay the ENTIRE time I lived there even though I was not working at least half the time I was there. The fact that they have the nerve to not give me a 250 deposit back when I paid over 1700 for a 2 bedroom for my cat and myself is absolutely absurd. They may have should of picked their battles! With everything I have on them. No matter what the issue was from the very beginning they showed no sign of a care in the world! It was more so like oh well.... Never tried to fix a thing. Emails to prove that. Even the email they sent letting me know I could get out my lease per my wishes. The property manager stated "since you're not happy with your apt my manager has agreed to let you out your lease..." Umm excuse me I would be happy if I didn't have bugs/rodents as my room mates, or if I had a working refrigerator or even if I had moved into a clean apt etc. You got your monies every month on time I should of been able to live in a safe and healthy environment. However I was not able to do that. Oh and did I mention move in date dog/cat feces on the floor, water damage on the wall from vent and under sink, Infested with gnats, blonde hair coming out of drains and urine on both toilet seats

During the tour and throughout the move-in process, I was provided with information about Solana and Brookdale that proved to be very helpful. Everyone from the director to the receptionist to the medical staff to the caregiving staff were all friendly and available to assist any time. I especially appreciated the Caregiver Support Group and the director of the Clare Bridge memory care unit explaining various aspects of dealing with dementia. The lovely surroundings, outdoor patio, activities, outings, live entertainment, and caring staff provided a wonderful quality of life for my husband. Unfortunately, he eventually needed a level of care they do not provide and we had to find another facility. Once again, the staff at Solana were helpful and quick to respond when I had questions about our move. I want to thank all of them for all they have done for my husband and me.

We regret every minute putting our beloved mother in Brookdale She was traumatized from day one, & developed paranoia. The staff acted like she was a burden. They were cold & distant, uncaring. We had problems from day one where no one came to greet her when she arrived, & she had to go to lunch unescorted, alone & scared. The second day she had ants galore, the 3 rd day air- conditioning problems, she went 12 days without a bath, the list went on. My mother was so miserable & cried everyday. The aides acted rudely towards her, & she kept asking us " why don't they like me?". Her paranoia from such a cold & uncaring environment became more evident as each day passed. She has only been there 3 weeks & they wanted to send her away for more mental evaluation at OakBend in Rosenberg. Basically, they couldn't stand her & wanted her out of their facility. She left & died 6 days later. She was depressed, felt like she was a burden, became weak & dehydrated, & aspirated. After she died, no one cared. They only wanted her key back. We regret the day that we entrusted our dear mother in their care. We would not recommend Brookdale to anyone. STAY FAR AWAY! We drive by often & become physically sick.

My dad seems very happy and content there. He has made friends and enjoys the animals they have onsite. They may not have all the super fancy decor as other places have but I have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Cypresswood is fully staffed and trained to deal with memory care residents which makes a world of difference when choosing a facility.

I love that I am able to not only able to care for our residents health, but emotionally, and physically as well. Not all senior living communities are the same. Each has its own unique atmosphere, amenities and…read morepolicies designed to accommodate senior citizens who are ready for a new lifestyle. And on a case-by-case basis, problems can sometimes be solved with effective communication. However, there seems to be none at Orchard Park. I visited my father over the holidays and came to the conclusion that the current Office and Assistant Manager[s] don't seem to care about anything. I understand that hiring, training, and retaining staff members is perhaps the biggest challenge facing retirement communities, but I'm amazed by these individuals who (to be quite frank), don't seem to care. I, along with several of my father's neighbors and their families, have addressed frustrations, disappointments, and concerns, but again, they could care less. I did my best, and informed them as to why we are unhappy, and tried to create a plan together to move forward but to no avail. In closing, my father will not say anything for fear of retribution, and moving can be very stressful for him. So it's important that I look at the bigger picture and decide if concerns can be resolved before moving. I've observed how Orchard Park didn't respond, and think the issues are stagnant and resident's safety is at risk. In the meantime, I hope I am able to find better quality options in the area.
