Was totally crippled, could barely hobble to the bathroom, and my Kaiser podiatrist didn't clarify that I had a partial rupture, much less that it probably was due to taking prednisone for another condition (i.e., didn't warn me to assiduously avoid steroids); and the only options he provided were "watch and wait" or a complex procedure that would take a year to recover from. When I then switched from Kaiser "Senior Advantage" to traditional Medicare with AARP secondary I asked him who I should see in community and the PAMF podiatrist he recommended referred me to Dr. Meagan Jennings for a TENEX procedure with PRP (platelet rich plasma) in which she is specially trained. The surgery went great and I was able to walk pretty normally by about 3 months post-op with the help of wonderful physical therapy from Break-Through; I'm now 5 months post-op and still improving! I can't help but wonder why Kaiser didn't recommend this procedure, for which I was a "perfect candidate" -- maybe none of their podiatrists are trained in it and they're too frugal to refer patients out for it, who knows. I'll also mention that Dr. Jennings and her staff are all helpful, kind, friendly, and professional. My highest recommendation!

He talked down to me and asked if I knew what neuropathic pain really was. I've had neuropathic pain for over a decade, I'm quite familiar with it. He told a staff member I was ready for a cast, but the staff member didn't catch my name at first. Jensen repeated my last name slowly and exaggeratedly, as I frequently hear from people who think one doesn't speak English and stretching out the name somehow makes it better. 2) My stitches were not ready to come out. I had to have an emergency appointment last week with podiatry to have a dr look at my wound which had popped open from the steri-strips. After proper medical attention, and antibiotics, the wound is back to healing. 3) The dr's hands were shaking when he was removing my stitches. I had a 2 week old wound, that wasn't fully pulled together, and he was warned that I had neuropathic pain at the site. I have friends and family who are dr's, and they all pull back from doing work like that once their hands start shaking. My husband was appalled when he noticed, but there wasn't much we could do at the time as he had already removed some of the stitches. I have made a complaint to my podiatrist, and I will be making a complaint with Sutter Health. I highly recommend that no one sees this dr.
