I bought my first house down Osborne Road in the 90s and I just love what they did with this park... looks fantastic! The dog park is back, and it's better than ever. From what I hear, anyway, as I had never been before the renovation. The dog section is humongous. So big that there are paved paths and trails within the park where you can give yourself exercise while the dogs are getting theirs. Also love that there are public restrooms inside the dog area as well as a huge pavilion and other areas that provide shade and rain coverage. I'm slightly perplexed as to why there are barbecue grills as human food and dogs aren't really a good combo, but you could always seek a different section of the park if someone does decide to have a picnic there. A creek runs through the park and there is a large drain pipe that the dogs could theoretically enter, so you should keep an extra special eye on them in that area. At the top of the park you have a pretty good view of all areas if your dog is exploring on their own. I spotted a dog drinking fountain only near the entrance but you could always fill your bowl there and carry it to another section. The first time I visited parking was a huge challenge as there was some kind of holiday festival happening with an ice skating rink. But the second time on a rainy Saturday there was no issue with parking. So glad this re-opened! We will be here often. read more

This is my first time coming to Brookhaven park and I am complex underwhelmed. I came here on a date and felt like I was in the slums somewhere in East Point. The grass looks disgusting, there's basically no place to sit and eat unless you want to walk into the fenced in dog area (obviously not) and it just looked poorly maintained. I've lived out here for 5 years and I'm shocked with all the money I pay in taxes that they can't make something better than this? I guess I was expecting Lenox Park or even the new greenway in Brookhaven but instead I got this lackluster park to enjoy. If you want to bring your dog here, I'm sure you would give it a 4/5 but if you're looking to come here and impress someone.. you're better off taking them out to your patio. Checked out this place for my dog. Here are the things you need to know. The park does not have a clear entrance sign but it's right off of Osborne rd and peachtree Rd. It leads into paved parking lot that you can park in after 4pm for the park. But if you're there earlier, it's only for employees and parking is tight and limited. It's a little further in on unevenly paved segment and gravel. Its lumpy and not fun to park in, especially if your low rides low. Pros: The park itself is the biggest grass enclosed park I have been to. My dog loved sprinting and chasing other dogs in it. It has a cement trail inside and plenty of benches and picnic tables as well. I appreciate that's its grass and easy on our pups paws. It was clean and well maintained. Cons: There is a shallow river with many large rocks towards the back side of the dog park. I dont mind my dog getting dirty but it was just surprising that it was part of the park and we weren't prepared for her to get soaked in soily water. If your dog doesnt care for water, it's fine but ours loves to runs through it. Come prepared! Also, if it has rained recently, even 2 days back, there will be muddy puddles. Also, the dog park is not split to accommodate dog sizes. So if your dog doesnt do well with smaller or larger dogs or you're concerned with them getting injured during play, this place is not the best choice for you. I wouldn't bring a small puppy here to start off. I'd say this is one of the nicer dog parks I have been to in metro Atlanta in terms of size and grass. Outside the dog park is also good for walking and some sports as they have an open large flat field that is not enclosed. read more

I attended Brookhaven Brunch Festival 2016 this past weekend. This was the 3rd event of Atlanta Beer Festivals thatI have attended. And it's Official. Atlanta Beer Festivals hosts the most outstanding social gatherings in Atlanta. Ash Said It so it must be true! Each event caters to every attendee. That's why so many look forward to it season after season. I met a group of 20 somethings that religiously attend most Atlanta Beer Festival events. They were young women that attended Georgia State years ago. They attended these events as freshmen and continue to attend now that they have graduated. Talk about dedication. This event was set in beautiful Brookhaven Park. The temperature was just right for this outdoor gala. There were two types of tickets. VIP and General admission. VIP got more perks than general admission. They were admitted at 11am, had an exclusive food tent, received unlimited drinks and were allotted 3 food vouchers. This company always takes care of their VIP guests. General admission was opened at noon. They only get 1 food voucher. All other samples are $3 each. This is the cheaper route and you don't get any extras. I had a marvelous time at Brookhaven Brunch Festival 2016. I didn't get to visit all the vendors but adored the ones that I did. Atlanta Beer Festivals are the premier events of Atlanta. If you have not been to one yet you need to. Sign up for their email and get notified of upcoming festivals. Been coming here for years and it's always a super nicely kept park. There is a mini trail that runs around the park, with a playground, basketball met, a couple of fields where groups play pick-up sports like kickball and ultimate, and a big area where dogs are always playing off-leash. Lots of doggy bag stations and trash cans. There's also a pavilion of sorts with about 10 picnic tables and an outdoor BBQ grill area. Parking for about 10 cars but plenty more come on foot from the surrounding areas. read more

Warning! If you are not a dog lover, this IS NOT the park for you. My dog hates car rides so I'm normally hesitant about taking him to Piedmont Park for fear of the long car ride, but this was right in my backyard. The thing I love most about the park is how many off-leash dogs are running around. It's really amazing exercise! For my Pokémon go fans there's a gym and a Pokéstop! I'll definitely be returning to give my little buddy some exercise and a chance to make new friends. read more

This is heaven for my dogs! Such a large off-leash dog park with so many cute dogs running around. Lots of trees and open lawns for the dogs to roam around and play with other dogs. Beware: there is no fence so if your dog is one to wander, maybe keep him on leash. Parking is also limited but people just park everywhere. Great place!! read more

Technically, this is not a "dog park" and there are signs stating dogs must remain leashed at all times. However, I use the term "technically" very loosely. This is hands down the best park around the Buckhead area for dogs. There are always loose tennis balls and a few water dishes to share and everyone is super friendly. I have seen all breeds here, happily running & playing together. I think it's pretty safe, although I don't recall seeing any lights. read more

Lacking double-gated entrances and not great for small dogs. The dog park is massive, which is why it's surprising that there is no small-dog specific area. Also, very little area to just walk outside of the dog park. Will probably not be bringing my pup (20lbs) back here. This is one of the best parks for dog walking in the Buckhead /Brookhaven area. I've lived in the area a little more than 2 years and visit this park about 3-4 days a week with my 2 cockapoos. There are usually lots of other people around after work & on the weekend but sometimes it can be a little deserted and there have been car windows broken but hey, it's Atlanta. They've done a lot of work to the grounds over the last year. Technically you are supposed to keep your dog on a leash but most people let them run free. It's mostly fenced except up near the parking area. Plenty of shade and water as well as trails to walk. People are friendly. There are sometimes other things going on like ultimate frisbee and kickball so you'll need to park in the front section near Peachtree and walk behind the buildings. read more

One of the best dog parks in this area. My pup has a great time exploring and playing with other dogs. The other owners and dogs we've encountered so far have been very friendly and helpful (sharing water and tennis balls). Today was a little different- we had our first experience with an aggressive owner. While her dog (small, white fur, stays on a leash) was wagging her tail, the owner pulled out a big stick in order to hit my dog away. The problem is, my pup LOVES sticks so she got excited to play. It took me a few seconds to realize she was being aggressive with my pup so I called her back and held her collar as I got berated for not having control of my dog. Dog owners BEWARE! read more

I just started taking my dog here to run around. There is plenty of space and he has the opportunity to meet doggy friends and get some training. The park is very well kept, with places to sit, exercise, and play with your kids. The parking is limited but mostly open. I did have an experience with a snobby old lady who said my dog needed to be on a leash because he's a pit bull mix and therefore 'dangerous '. It was rude, unwarranted and frankly uninformed. My dog is very well-behaved and I wouldn't bring him if he wasn't--duh! There were many other pitties out that day with their responsible owners, minding their own business. Don't believe everything you see on tv. Besides that rude old bag, we didn't have any problems, but if I feel unwelcome there again, I'll probably find some other place to run around in peace. read more

It's basically a dog park with a lot of room gound for the dogs to run around since a lot of people unleash their dogs. Also it doesn't help if sometimes dog owners doesn't clean after their pets do number 2 in the open area. If you have young children and look for a playground area, this is not a good park to attend in my opinion. I'm giving the park a 2 rating because of the potential if the Brookhaven city put up a decent playground and make it more children friendly. Until then the park will be mainly known and used as 'dog' friendly park. read more

I'm not trying to bash this park because it was definitely nice. Pretty, lots of dogs and friendly owners. The trails seemed nice enough too. But I personally was NOT prepared for the atmosphere. The park had good reviews that were warranted, but it is definitely not an off leash dog park if that's what you're looking for (it was my exact search criteria that led me there so let me save you). All the dogs are off leash and running around, and I'm not saying it's chaotic or crazy, I just know i personally don't trust my dogs to let them go there - especially so close to the road. And walking them around on their leashes while all the other dogs were having the times of their lives left something to be desired. If your dogs are a little less energetic than mine about going to the park, this might be exactly what you're after. read more

This is a huge dog park that is off the leash friendly. Plenty of room for mans best friend to run around and get a lot of exercise. Additionally, the park has a lot of events throughout the year that are well organized. read more

Great place to bring the dog for off of the leash shenanigans. Can get a little muddy by the baseball cage and in the river bed so bring a towel of your dog is a mud roller. read more
