My one year old also gave it 4 out of 4 paws since there were still plenty of things for her to jump on. Very peaceful area, but not a lot of parking available. It was a 4 out of 5 rating for me since there were no trail markers, it was hard to determine which route one was walking on. Also, it's clear one side of the trail is walked on more often than the other due to the creative trail walking that had to be crossed in order to walk a true loop trail.

While I was familiar with Emory's Lullwater Park / President's Estate, I had never accessed it via…read morethis route before. Hahn Woods is located on Houston Mill Road. There is a small parking lot that appeared nearly full when we arrived. You basically need to parallel park around a circular drive. The outer rim filled up first, but when we returned from hiking the inner rim was also full. You can apparently hike a short loop in Hahn Woods itself, but the real draw (to me) was to cross under Houston Mill and follow the trail along South Peachtree Creek to connect with Lullwater Park. I would strongly recommend not taking this hike very soon after it has rained; wait for a dry period. There is at least one point when you have to make a short jump across a small side stream. This shouldn't present a huge problem unless anyone in your party is physically challenged in some way. The only major point of interest (other than enjoying the natural setting) along the trail was to see the Yerkes Primate Center. I'd heard about it for years and knew roughly where it was located, but had never actually seen it until we did this hike. There is also no shortage of graffiti (some of it amusing) on the underside of the Houston Mill Road bridge.

The restrooms by the water features were a bit sketch, but functional, and there wasn't a whole lot else in the way of facilities. The rest of the park was pleasant enough to be worth a little detour, but not a prime destination in itself.

I'm new to the area and I go here to play basketball. There are indoor and outdoor courts, and can…read moreget busy at times. The indoor courts cost $2 to go in when theres open gym. The gym is great, great backboards, and would be perfect if it wasn't for the floors. It's hard to plant or change direction/do any type of movement without having your feet slip, so this feels really dangerous at times if you're trying to play a game. I would recommend just shooting around or playing very casually if playing indoors. There are 2 outdoor full courts with 10' rims on one end and about 9'6" on the other end. These courts would have also been perfect if it wasn't for the short hoops at one end. I'm really not sure why it was made this way, but I usually go here to play halfcourt. Other than that, there are really good single rims and above average backboards (especially for an outdoor court). The flooring here is nothing like I have ever seen before and it grips really well! It also feels a little easier on the knees than a traditional outdoor court. On a nice day it can get REALLY packed so you might have to wait for a court or try to play pick-up. There are also 2 public tennis courts in the area that can also get busy. They are really well maintained, but it can also get busy on a nice day!

Because I couldn't find any open parking spaces and people were lined up outside the recreation center, I ended up leaving to go to another polling place. Lynwood Park is on Osborne Road, and you either know exactly where it is, or just accidentally stumble upon it because you're completely lost. It's definitely in an out of the way location, but that's what makes it nice. The second time I came to this park, it was to practice my tennis serves. The park has two tennis courts that are well maintained, especially for being in a public park. The courts are first-come, first served. Tennis players are generally polite and will not hog the tennis courts. While I was there for a little over an hour, I noticed that there were playground equipment for kids to climb on, a covered picnic area with tables, two full sized basketball courts, a swimming pool and a multi-use grass field. I didn't go into the recreation center, so I have no idea what's in it. I haven't been to Lynwood Park often enough to get a better feel of the vibe, but I'm sure I'd be using most of the facilities constantly if I lived nearby. This park spans 50 acres and is more of a recreation complex. There are two entrances and the…read morepark's drive has somewhat of a U-shape. It has a couple of baseball fields, a tennis complex with a bunch of courts, and a couple of soccer fields. They are all very nice, but they are not opened to the public and are locked to keep people out. You need a permit to use the baseball and soccer fields. The tennis courts are managed through the tennis complex on site. As an added bonus most of the courts and fields are lighted for night play. You will find an ample amount of parking available here, spread between lots all throughout the park. The park also features a nice and extensive trail system for bikers, walkers and joggers. You will find a little green space to toss a ball around or have a picnic. There are also gliders swings and benches available to sit and enjoy. There are dog clean up stations all over the park and they have a monument of sorts in memorial of the 8 people killed in the 2021 anti-asian spa shootings. The memorial features a nice golden statue of an asian woman sitting down. The park has a huge shelter that is available to rent. The shelter has a bunch of picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. The park has two playground area. The smaller one is by the baseball fields. It has a small play structure with monkey bars and a slide. This play area also has toddler swings. The other playground, on the other side of the park, is much larger. There is where you will find wood balance beams, saucer swings, a large net structure, slides, and a net climber. There are bathroom facilities near both play areas, with the larger, and in my opinion better one being on the side with the larger playground. The park is a nice place to hold local events the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival, food truck Wednesdays in the summer, and Light Up Brookhaven in the winter is held here. I like this playground. It is very well maintained. However, much of its amenities are private and require a permit. Most of the park's visitors that I saw during my visit were taking advantage of the park's trails. There were no kids on the play ground. Being a hot weekday may have something to do with that. I do feel this is a destination park unless you are attending an event here.

This is a decent 10-acre nature park that is in 3 sections that runs in a zig-zag formation. It is…read moresmack dab in the middle of the historic Ansley Park neighborhood. There is tons of free street parking available for the park's visitors. One of the park's sections runs right up to people's backyards. The park is situated in a low-lying ravine. You either have to take stairs or walk down a semi step hill. One section of the park has a small stream that runs along it and is located between houses. It has a few picnic tables, some green space and trail that goes through it. The main section of the park has lots of green space. There is a chain link back stop on the field that can be used for kickball, softball and baseball games. This park is perfect for kit flying, tossing a frisbee, playing catch, or having a picnic. You will find wooden glider swings around the park as well as picnic tables and benches. There is also a decent playground with a metal spiral slide, a wooden play structure with monkey bars, slides and bridges, a 4-way see saw, a bank of traditional/toddler swings, and a tire swing. This is a decent park that is adequately maintained, but it starting to show its age a bit. This is a low key park that is worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood. I think it needs a little maintenance and upgrades, but still a decent option to spend a few hours.

Ample mulch provide soft landings for those inevitable falls. A great alternative to a more secluded park outing over Piedmont park. With no nearby food options be sure to roll in packing... a lunch. If not there are lots of food options a short walk to Peachtree. Make a day out of it and couple this shady quiet park with a visit to the high museum. Old growth trees coupled with a slow paced neighborhood make this a great option to spend a few relaxing hrs.

The dog park is back, and it's better than ever. From what I hear, anyway, as I had never been…read morebefore the renovation. The dog section is humongous. So big that there are paved paths and trails within the park where you can give yourself exercise while the dogs are getting theirs. Also love that there are public restrooms inside the dog area as well as a huge pavilion and other areas that provide shade and rain coverage. I'm slightly perplexed as to why there are barbecue grills as human food and dogs aren't really a good combo, but you could always seek a different section of the park if someone does decide to have a picnic there. A creek runs through the park and there is a large drain pipe that the dogs could theoretically enter, so you should keep an extra special eye on them in that area. At the top of the park you have a pretty good view of all areas if your dog is exploring on their own. I spotted a dog drinking fountain only near the entrance but you could always fill your bowl there and carry it to another section. The first time I visited parking was a huge challenge as there was some kind of holiday festival happening with an ice skating rink. But the second time on a rainy Saturday there was no issue with parking. So glad this re-opened! We will be here often.
