This animal Sanctuary was such an amazing experience! for adult entrance it was 22.00 and you can purchase a cup on lettuce and carrots to feed the animals for an added 6.50. they had such a great selection of animals and even lots you can interact with. it was about a mile around walking path that was mostly shaded so you even get some exercise. we came in October and they had the park decorated for Halloween and i read they had a special trick or treating for kids which i thought to be a wonderful idea. the staff seemed so friendly and knowledgeable you can tell they love to be working with these animals. if you are ever in the area you need to check this place out

Don't go to a zoo. Come HERE!! We're looking for things to do while on our staycation and I remembered that the wildlife sanctuary is around. This place is great for kids and field trips. It's creates memories and new found respect for animals. The staff was friendly and informative. The tickets are $22 each and $6.50 for the feeding cups to interact with certain animals. They discourage outside foods to feed them so you must purchase theirs. It's about a mile of seeing animals that got a second chance. They were docile and super fun to watch. They were very well taken care of and loved. They have upped their game from last time I remember them. Such a wonderful activity!

We were visiting the area and found this hidden gem. Our son-in-law found this place and stopped in for a few hours. Our 1 year granddaughter loved all the animals and the ones you can pet! Love how the park was laid out and it easy to get around. Definitely recommend you stop by the place! At some of the exhibits the staff would talk about the animals and actually knew each of their names. What neat was some of the animals would hear their voices and would come running towards the front to see them. Our granddaughter loved the interaction with the animals. Thank you Yellow River Wildlife for all you do!!!!

As an adjacent resident of Stone Mountain, I can say this gem certainly escaped my notice. In all my years around the county, not once has this place come up in conversation or my radar screen. I almost glad I just discovered because it truly was a pleasant surprise! There are several fascinating animals to take in and learn about including bison and bears. This is an amazing place to the kids for an interactive and engaging family activity. It is also noteworthy to mention that the staff and helpers are certified animals lover, which works out good for the residents. In the final analysis, I say 10 out 10, would recommend.

I came across Yellow River on Instagram and it didn't disappoint in being a fun family activity. We initially planned on visiting July 4th since they were open on the holiday, but the rain had other plans. The staff happily changed our ticket date and time to another day. We bought our tickets online and also purchased food to feed the animals once we were inside. For 2 adults, 1 infant and the animal food the price was $52. A big positive is the amount of shade there is on those hot summer days. Our son just turned 2 and this was a perfect place to take him to see animals up close. We were able to feed and pet several rabbits, goats, alpacas, a donkey and deer. It was a great time overall and would definitely come back.

When I heard about Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary earlier this summer, I had to check it out! I purchased entrance ($20) and feeding cup ($6) tickets online. On arrival, it didn't take long to get our wristbands and veggie feeding cups before we were let onto the property. It took approximately 1.5 hours to walk through the whole sanctuary, and what an adventure this was! At the head of the trail, you'll be greeted by a friendly turkey. We had a lovely time feeding the lambs, goats, donkeys, and a cow. We also saw deer, a black bear, lemurs, turtles, vultures, kinkajous, raccoons, foxes, peacocks, spider monkeys, ducks, alpacas, sheep, bisons, and rabbits. In the middle of the sanctuary, there is also a small plot of beautiful bamboo trees. This is a great experience for people of all ages!

I have very heard of this place prior to the school recommending for the field trip. This place has lots of parking. It cost $20 dollars for adults $19 for veterans/military and alittle cheaper for kids. I enjoyed myself and so did all of the kids. Very educational. Our guide was very good. He provided us with alot of fun facts and history about the place and the animals. We really learned about. It takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to go through everything. I definitely recommend checking out!

I really enjoyed the bull !

I love going to the zoo but this is even better! Family and I booked for 11-12pm, left about 1:30 on a Friday and it wasn't super packed at all. All the animals were super friendly and cute! 2 cups of feeding was just enough for us. I would definitely visit again!!

Been coming here since a child and love to see how much it's grown and changed for the better! Worth the price no doubt.

My grandson and I had a great time. He enjoyed feeding the animals. I do believe the spider monkeys were our favorite.

There is a gift shop, but we avoided it with the boys or it would have cost a lot more.

I've been here before for one of the Halloween events, but this day in particular I was here to actually enjoy the park in broad daylight and not at night. This is definitely the place to get a good workout in. You can walk around the mountain, which is a 5 mile walk or you can walk up the mountain which is 1 mile up. Honey, let me tell you that 1 mile up is not a joke, but you feel so good once you get to accomplish it and see all the other people attending to walk up the mountain. This is a experience for all age groups. The elderly were out there. The young was out there. The middle age was out there. Everyone was there having a good time, exercising and getting in a good stroll in the park. The Rangers are also out in the park for any assistance that you need as well. I thought I was gonna need them plenty of time when I attempted to go up the mountain, but I did just fine and I survived. I prefer to go around the mountain in the 5 mile walk where you see lots of people either on bikes, skates or walking their dog or pushing their kids in strollers it's a great experience and a good walk especially after the weather is decent. Now because I had such a good time, I have to look into getting a pass

The park did not open until 10:30. Then we walked around the mountain once we arrived on top. It was not hot. There was a cool springy breeze. Then we walked down the mountain. The kids enjoyed it. However, we had to walk around to come back to the entrance, the kids still enjoyed it. Then we went to the 4-D Theater. They had a traveling dog show for the summer to celebrate America's 250 years birthday. The kids loved it. We even had four of my students chosen to volunteer on stage. Then we left to get lunch and we rode the train as our last activity for the day. Since we had to be back at the school at 2:00, we missed other attractions. However, the kids had fun!

Tickets run about $26.95 for standard adult admission, with slight variations depending on the day and if purchased online or in person. Given the sheer scale of the grounds, it feels like a fair value. I went on a weekday, which I highly recommend. Parking is incredibly straightforward, you park right on-site at the SAGE Parking Facility. It starts at $3 per hour, but keep in mind that the garage is entirely cashless, so you will need a card. Also if there is an event at Piedmont Park, parking may be impacted. Check-in was quick, and while there were visitors, it never felt crowded or overwhelming. The entire experience flowed smoothly from start to finish. This is perfect for a solo adventure. They were celebrating their 50th anniversary with the Super Bloom display, and it showed. There were over 200,000 tulips and spring bulbs throughout the garden. When I reached the Great Lawn, it opened up into a full sea of color. The visual texture of so many layered, vibrant petals blooming all at once was stunning. Each section felt different. One moment I was surrounded by vibrant florals, the next I was walking through lush greenery that felt almost like a rainforest and the air was so clean. It naturally slowed me down in the best way. The Orchid Daze exhibit was a highlight for me. It was calm, lightly fragrant, and tucked away enough to feel like a quiet escape. I ended up staying longer than expected. It would have been nice, if they had more dedicated seating areas. There weren't many spaces designed for just sitting and being, closer to the flowers especially if you wanted to relax without being in the middle of foot traffic. The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. There were also great spots for photography, I saw everything from casual photos to full-on portrait sessions. On-site Dining If you plan to stay for a while there is a restaurant on-site, which is convenient. The menu was simple, light bites, sandwiches, and seasonal options. Pricing was about what you'd expect for a major attraction, averaging around $25 to $40 per person for a casual lunch. Overall: A way to slow down and take things in. Peaceful, beautiful, and worth the visit. I'm already curious to see how it will transform for summer.

The Conservatory was the highlight, with orchids and enough going on to actually hold their attention for a while. Admission and parking adds up fast for a family and felt like the biggest strike against the trip. The grounds are well kept and the canopy walk gives a decent view over woods, Piedmont Park is right next door, so we wrapped up in the garden and let the kids run around the park for the second half of the afternoon/. Works well as a pair with the park if you're looking for a way to spend two hours or so.

The kids play space on the top floor is out of this world! I was inspired to play and investigate alongside my kids! The curators were incredibly thoughtful and created such a welcoming space that is guaranteed to inspire young people and adults alike! Finishing the inside experience is far from the end of your day though. There is a whole world of exploration to be had outside! The hiking trails are well maintained and there are surprises around every corner. From art instillations, to bug motels, to climbing structures for kids to quiet brooks to stroll by it has something for everyone! The children's play park outside is tucked to the side with fencing and features water play. I wish I knew that in advance I would have packed the kids a spare set of clothes to really allow them to let loose and enjoy this to the max! There is not a lot of shade in that particular section of the outdoor space and no benches by the water (there is a rock wall everyone was sitting on to hide from the sun and be nearer to littles who wanted to play by the water) This is one of the best places for families to visit in Atlanta! If time allowed we would have came back here multiple times!! Absolutely a must do!
