Rolled up to this gas station mid-pandemic, stomach doing the Macarena, politely asked to use the bathroom. The clerk looked me dead in the eyes and said, "No public restrooms." Buddy... it was an emergency. This wasn't a "maybe I can hold it" situation. This was DEFCON 1. Long story short: they said no, my colon said yes. WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT I came here since Bank of America said "the gas station has a bathroom" I guess they meant ampm next door. I come inside look at drinks first since I am thirsty even with having to use the restroom XD I go to the counter and ask the guy working who seemed to be chit chatting with someone who seemed like his buddy while on a laptop. Wow, I'm not a guy who leaves reviews. Actually, I this is my very first. I've been going to the Arco station on Brookhurst and Slater (South East side closest to the 405 freeway) for 25 years. It's on my way home from work. Normally the guys who work at the station are nice enough, I've never had an issue. But tonight it was a different story. As I walk in to pay for my gas, this older gentleman is standing behind counter. The guy is coughing and spitting into the trash can. I count out my cash in front of him ($45) and tell him 45 on #7. He takes the money and I walk out quickly. I don't want him coughing on me. As I walk out he's coughing all over the counter, the register and the cash I gave him. Disgusting, I did not want to go back in but I had to. He only gave me $35 worth of gas. This guy is a thief and and I told him so. He asked me why did you walk away when I was counting the money. Really, he was coughing all over the place I didn't want to be near him for one more second. Terrible experience, I'll never go back to that disgusting place. read more

Went to get gas and went into the store. Asked to use the restroom and was told it was closed. I pointed at the bathroom door with the sign above showing mens and women's bathrooms and asked, "why? They're right there." And the worker smiled at me and said "closed". So I asked, what do you use when you have to go and she said "we have our own." I looked around and there's no other bathroom, so I told her "first that's a lie and second I just filled up my tank, so you're telling me a paying customer can't use your bathroom but an employee can?" She just smiled, shrugged, and said "yes, not for customer". This Arco am/pm is down the street from The Fountain valley sports complex. So all you travel baseball families with kids that'll stop by to use the bathroom while you fill up and get drinks and snacks - don't come here. Customers should come first and this type of arrogant behavior and non customer Service shouldn't be rewarded with our money. Whoever owns this Arco should provide an explanation why a paying customer, in the middle of the day, would arbitrarily close a bathroom. Time to start boycotting places like this. read more

Asked if they had a restroom. Had a long drive and needed gas and a restroom. Filled $100.00 when I went in the guy at the register was rude and tried to make me feel stupid for asking by saying "customers never ask for a restroom only people off the street". My 4 year old had to pee really bad during rush hour. I came here with the intention of getting gas but first I got her out, as she's crossed legged and shivering and asked where the restroom was. The clerk said theirs was private and not for public. I told him she really has to go and she's about to pee her self. He didn't care one bit. I wanted to talk to the owner and he said "you need to wait." I said fine, I'll call him. Give me his number and he refused. The Ayres Hotel next door was friendly enough and let us use theirs. I stopped here because my tire indicator showed I was very low on air in one tire. I noticed once I stopped and looked I had a small nail in that tire and asked for the attendant to turn on the air compressor. He informed me that in order to use the air to fill up my tire I would have to purchase gas and that he did not have a code for me. This is a safety hazard and is unacceptable. Absolutely awful gas station. No credit cards accepted. One pump's pin pad had an admin screen up, so I let the attendant know. He just told me to move to another pump as curtly as possible, despite having no other customers waiting on him. After filling, I asked for a restroom key, and the same attendant raised his eyebrow and said, "Customers only." I had to reassure him that his beautiful gas station restroom would be in good hands, as I'd already jumped through all of his hoops to be a customer. A truly unhappy one at that! Will never return. Unbelievable is about all I can come up with! My car broke down and I managed to limp it to this station so I could call AAA. I parked in the back and was the only car in any parking spot. While on phone I noticed an employee(?) of the station keep coming out and looking at me and then going back in. After I set up the tow I went inside to let him know I was waiting on a tow truck and spent some money getting lotto tickets and a drink. Due to Covid I couldn't go with the tow truck driver so I had someone come pick me up. When my ride arrived up he pulled up by the trash cans at the back of building to clean up his car and the passenger area so I could have a clean seat. He was throwing the trash in the trash receptacle but when he pulled out the floor mat a receipt and approximately 6 tiny pieces of paper fell onto the ground. Before it could even be picked up this employee comes flying out the door with his camera phone and screaming to pick up the trash and leave, all while running around the car taking pictures. We were kind of stunned as it was so random and off the wall. I told him as I'm drinking my $3+ Monster I just bought that he's my ride and I'm still waiting for the tow truck and no problem we had no intention of leaving trash. But he was yelling and making a big commotion about police coming. On side note there's trash and food all over parking lot that needs cleaning up. .. So then this guy takes the trash we had already put in the trash can , not tiny papers, and starts taking it out of can and throwing it in car and on the ground. This whole time he says he's calling the Police, which due to his unstable nature I thought was a good idea and we said go ahead. FVPD came we told them story , they were very cool about it even though I'm sure they had better things to do. Showed them that nothing funny was going on, they agreed said just don't go back in store, which I'll never spend another dime there again! Oh and while I was in the store buying my stuff this same employee was on his phone talking to someone on speakerphone and kept talking while doing my transaction along with others who came in to pay for gas. Oh, Oh and while waiting in back after all this some guy goes back by the trash can to take a leak. I Holler to the guy "there's a bathroom right here "and what does he say? " yeah I know but the a@&$"@&$ inside won't let me use it!" There is a sign saying no use because of Covid but I'm guessing he wasn't polite about it or the guy wouldn't have been so mad! And I wonder if he's so worried about Covid did he wash up after taking trash out of the trash can and throwing it about? I doubt it cuz I didn't see him go into the employee bathroom and I've been waiting for almost two hours sitting on a curb looking at his bathroom doors! There are two Arco's in this intersection. Make sure to go to the bigger one. You will be able to tell which one I am talking about. This one usually has some of the Buy One Get One free ciggies which is nice. I always like to get my cigs for anywhere from 2 packs for $4 - 6.50. Hella better than buying them for $4-5.50 a pack! Also this particular location has the newer ATM/Cash machines outside which are a lot nicer to use than the old school ones. Usually their gas prices are pretty good too. I prefer this ARCO station over the other with the AMPM. This gas station is right off the 405 and Brookhurst exit and is generally cheaper for each gallon by a few cents. The lanes are rather wide with operational ATM & Cash machines. Never had any issues here and will continue to come back. read more

This Arco ALWAYS has the lowest gas prices in the entire area. And the folks who work here are polite, the customers are always friendly and courteous (they're stoked to be getting such a good deal!!), it's easy to get in & out, and the facilities are well-maintained (for a gas station). The prices at this Arco are only beaten by the Costco around the corner, but that place is a mess to get in & out of and not worth the annual membership in my opinion. I live around the corner from this gas station, so I have filled up here many times. Rarely do I go inside, but today my tires needed air from the cooler weather. Attendant named HAYTHAM was unhelpful and rude when I asked him to turn on the air compressor (State law prohibits gas stations for charging for air). He reluctantly gave me an activation code that did NOT work and refused to come out and help me. The gas station is obviously trending down (upkeep looks terrible and garage is closed). I don't understand why owners don't spend some time and effort into training helpful and courteous attendants. They just lost another customer.
