There was a line early this morning just after 6:15 AM. All right pump stations were taken. Not the norm from the last few times I've pumped gas here. As of today (5/5/26) gas here is at $5.659/ gallon. First time ever driving my car that I nearly hit $60 to fill up. My hybrid is starting to feel like an all gas vehicle, lol. Hate that seeing $5.659 /gallon for gas was something I was happy to find. Prices will soon be climbing higher. read more

Not sure if I just came at the wrong time but this Costco gas was a mess. You have to go around the entire Costco building past the other stores in the plaza to get into a long lines that leads to more lines. It took forever and was confusing. There's 8 lines and 3 pumps per line. It's nice since they have light indicators to let you know which pump is available. The long line to get into one of the 8 lines is a bit congested so some lanes are way longer than others when others don't move over to another lane. Gas prices have gone up like crazy, but this location price wasn't too bad. It's still under $5. read more

This was a great gas station to stop at for some of the least expensive gas in the area - but you'll need a Costco membership in order to get gas here. I had rental cars that I had to fill up before dropping them off at John Wayne Airport (Orange County Airport) after leaving from the family home in Buena Park. This way, I didn't use up much of the gas in the tank before turning in the rentals. The gas gauges still showed that it was a full tank so I didn't get charged by the rental company. This Costco gasoline station has multiple lines going to the pumps. People filling up their vehicles were generally quick to get in and quick to leave. If you want to fill up at this gas station, you'll have to drive all the way around the Costco warehouse building and a building that contains many of the neighboring retail stores. Look for the signs directing you how to get to the gas station. The quickest way to pay for gas purchases here is to scan your Costco branded credit card at the pump, then fill up. Be careful leaving the gas station. There may be some cross traffic, with Costco warehouse shoppers trying to leave the parking lot at the same time. read more

5/9/25 Not the best layout to get to... $4.11/gal today Not our usual Costco gas but we were running on fumes driving all around town (Inland Empire to Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, now Fountain Valley).... if you're not familiar with the area, you're re-routed to go completely around Costco Warehouse itself. Tldr: Signage was unclear and confusing, and instead of guiding customers, the staff member yelled very aggressively, creating a hostile and traumatic scene. Scared for what ever else someone so aggressive and emotionally unregulated could do. Completely unprofessional/unkind and avoidable with proper signs and training. Staff should also be retrained and re-evaluated. Full: This was the worst Costco gas experience I've ever had, actually no, probably one of the worst "customer service" experiences I've ever had if I can even call it service. Negative 10 stars if I could. The traffic flow and signs are extremely unclear with what they're telling you to do, especially after store hours when the parking lot is empty. Parking lot was riddled with a huge amount of speed bumps so getting anywhere in here takes time as is, I can tell people in this lot probably speed a good amount. There were no signs, no traffic coordinators, or indicators in the main plaza entry points stating that cars are *required* to loop around the entire building to a specific entrance reach the gas station in their way. The sign just said "gas station" with an arrow, yet the gas station is right there in front of you with points of entry finally there after getting through the lot... I don't believe it would hurt to indicate on your signs which street the actual entrance is at. Also instead of being at the entrances/exits of the gas station to kindly guide customers or calmly clarifying the correct procedure, the worker member on duty immediately escalated the situation because of the apparent incorrect point of entry. I remember his appearance, but name tag was not in mind because of how aggressive he was and watching him was priority. He made no hesitation to march on over to shout harsh words loudly, angrily, immaturely, emotionally-driven. Every customer stared, as this worker made a scene in front of all other customers. This experience felt completely unnecessary, immature, hostile, and unprofessional especially given that the confusion was caused by the store's choice of layout and lack of clear signage. My words are an understatement about this interaction. It was actually traumatizing because who knows how much worse he could react, seeing that he cannot regulate such severe anger, very much not appreciated and unwarranted. No one especially not a customer should be verbally berated for something that could be prevented with clear direction given by *your* facility. If this is a recurring issue, which seems likely due to such type of reaction from your worker here, I strongly recommend improving signage and ensuring employees are *properly* re-trained to address customer confusion with patience, clarity, and professionalism. No coworkers stepped in during this incident, which was also a concerning bit. Otherwise maybe seek another experience where your personality could fit, to be honest your behavior is unhealthy though. Also, I understand English just fine thank you. No need to be rude. You should learn how to tell your company how to make better signs or do it yourself. Do better. read more

How you get to the gas station is a bit crazy, but Costco normally has some of the lowest gas prices around. The attendants help you as much as they can, but there is always someone who does not know how to park their car or pump gas. Come on now, you own a car and these are the basics. read more

The Fountain Valley Costco is one of my favorite Costco locations in the area. I feel like management here actually listens to member concerns and take action - compared to other locations in the general region. First, the Costco Gas Station always attracts a crowd. Rather than having people go through the general parking lot, Costco FV has drivers enter through a separate entrance/exit driveway, and go all the way around and behind Costco - out of the main parking lot. This detour actually works better, since it prevents a line of cars in the main parking lot. Parking lot was recently repaved back in December of 2023. Selection is always great, I like to browse their electronics, computers, snacks, seafood and dry goods sections. Ample self-checkout lanes with two clerks who are usually happy to help scan your items for you (faster and easier than lifting each item, scanning barcode, and putting it back. Two receipt checkers at the exit to ensure you never have to wait too long to get out with your stuff. Food court is outside and moves pretty quick. They always fill up my ice cream sundaes to the top, eliminating any air gaps that might appear. read more

I've never had a long line experience for gas here. I usually drive up an hour or 2 before they close, and whether it's a weekday, or a weekend, there's only been a couple cars in each line. There are 3 pumps in each lane, so that makes it go faster. The only annoying thing is that you have to go all the way around the building to get into the gas line. THERE ARE AGGRESSIVE SPEED BUMBS AND BARRICADES ALL ALONG THE PATH TO GET TO THE GAS STATION It must have been way worse before Costco installed this terrible setup, which is so hard to believe! There also is an unmarked dip to pull into the Costco from Mount Washington St so watch your front bumper. Just spend the extra minutes to go to any other Costco Gas. read more

I have only ever been to the gas station here so the review is for that only. While this location has a good amount of pumps, the reverse bottle necking that happens getting in line causes massive backups for the entire shopping center. I feel horrible for the businesses like McDonald's where customers can't get in and out of their area simply because the line for the gas station is backed up. And when you finally do pump & are ready to go home? Get ready to wait for someone to be nice enough to let you turn out. It's just a headache. I only come to this location when I absolutely have to. It's so time consuming. I have never had a fill up experience that took less than 20 minutes. It's usually closer to 30+ minutes every time I go. And things are only going to get worse as the cost of gas rises and rises. read more

Typical Costco zoo. At least all the cashier lanes were open and relatively quick to get through. Well as long as you don't get a hind someone with 2 loaded shopping carts. Yet what impressed me, aside the fact that they had about 24 gas pumps, this Costco was moving vehicles thru the pumps quickly and efficiently. Being from out of the area we knew prices would be significantly less than in the surrounding area - they were. Although there was a long line of cars we kept moving. This is probably the shortest wait time I've had getting gas during the warehouse biz hours. (I normally get gas at 7-8am when there is usually no wait). Buying a hot commodity and getting in & out quickly is a pleasant surprise. read more

Really like this gas station! My go-to! The line can get kind of long, but it does move fast. I like that there are three pumps and there's ample space to move through the station (compared to the Tustin location which is tighter and usually more busy). I popped open my fuel door and some Costco worker opened it all the way, unscrewed my gas cap, and inserted the gas nozzle for me...before I even had a chance to get out of the car! TIRE CENTER: I got new tires recently (obvious from my last review), and one tire has lost air twice. So after the second time, I had my shop inspect the tire for nails or damage, and found none, so took my car back to Costco. I checked my car in and got a call 4 hours later that the tech needed more information. The cool thing about this lil scenario was THEY NEVER EVER EVER EVERRRRRRR ANSWER THE PHONE. Like what do you mean call you back? So as I was racing over to talk to them, I get a call my car is ready and they found nothing wrong. So I get there and talked to the guy who "worked on my car" and he said he checked everything, even dunked the wheel in water to find the leak and nothing. It was 5pm and I was tired, so I failed to do my due diligence or fight it any further. so I left. Then I realized, DUH, go look at the tire/wheel and see if he did dunk it. Nope, the tire was perfectly dirty and dusty as hell. I cannot believe he straight LIED to my face! This is a safety issue!!! So now I have to go raise hell and be Karen so I am not driving a dangerous car. I advise people to buy tires anywhere else, worst experience ever. read more

Always changing and today was hot, I appreciate the order that is attempted to be created in the entropy of pumping that brown golden fuel into the car. The signs at the top of each bay is super helpful with green showing where you can pull up and red meaning " not yet". I always stop here when I'm in the area. I have not written a review for any of the Costco Gas stations, but I have chosen this Fountain Valley, CA to be my first. Costco Gas lines can be very long, especially during peak times. Lately, I feel that Costco Gas peak times are all hours of the day because there is already a line out the parking lot within 20 minutes of opening - that's 5:40 a.m.! Besides the notoriously long lines, gas prices have gone so far up that I can't even keep track with the weekly price increases. Now, I chose to write this review for the Fountain Valley location because they address both of those issues I mentioned above. This location has a huge parking lot and they have recently made a new route to enter the gas line when it gets super busy. I know this doesn't minimize the long lines, but at least there's somewhere for you to go. What I do notice is that this location does not have a gnarly line if you go early, like still dark, just opened kind of early. I also noticed that the prices for this location are cheaper compared to places like Tustin and Irvine. While the Garden Grove location is the same price, I do not like the long wait times and how ungodly early everyone shows up to that one. So the secret is out - the Fountain Valley Costco Gas is the place to go for cheaper gas and better gas lines/wait times if you're in the area. read more

Don't ask for boxes? But maybe do? This Costco has a good selection of items but I think this was the single worst checkout experience I've had at ANY Costco. I was being rung up by a man, who then started talking to someone else in another lane and left without explanation. The woman helping him with placing items in carts took over. Noticing that all other lines had people getting boxes at checkout, I asked for one as well. She rolled her eyes and snapped at me that they don't have any, then stated that I chose the wrong day by coming the day before thanksgiving and asking for a box. I tried to laugh this off nervously before she proceeded to find a small one with a partition down the middle that made it useless and said "that's all you're getting." She then scanned my remaining items and THREW them down the conveyer belt (luckily the glass items had been scanned already by the aforementioned man). Heading down to OC and I remembered there was a Costco Gas in Fountain Valley - so I decided to make a stop here instead of the one in Tustin (always busy). It's been awhile since I came to this location - and they changed the entrance for the gas station and I learned the hard way. You now have to drive behind the warehouse and loop around to enter the gas station. The old way is now coned off and there's employees monitoring . This location has 3 pumps per aisle and moves pretty quick. Its one of the faster locations to stop by, fill up and go on your way. From now on, I'm stopping here instead of the one at the Tustin District. read more

Best bang for your buck for gas since Sam's Club is closed now for remodeling. Just make sure to use a fuel system cleaner with detergents every now and then because Costco gas doesn't have those additives. The logistics for gas has changed as of Thursday (12/2). You no longer have to enter from Newhope street to the back. You can enter from Talbert. Once you do, go past the stop sign by Mikka Dees then hang right. There are 3 lines for gas. Lines seem to go by quick, even on the weekend. As you're getting gas, you'll see many attendees helping others. I was tripping out because they will pump your gas for you. You just charge your card, select the type of gas and sit back in your car. The attendee will place back the pump and hand you the receipt. Are we in Oregon or something for gas services? I'm enjoying this change! The attendees are there to help because it moves the lines faster. read more

Note line is now less cluster by entrance with new line configuration. 10 minutes from entering line to pump on a busy Saturday afternoon.
